    I was infant baptised at 6 months old, confirmed at Church of England at 17, water baptised in a pentecostal church at 19 - NONE of these things saved me or had the power to save me. I was born again at 25 when the Holy Spirit regenerated my heart and came to live inside me, and I was saved.

      Which baptism is a part of the salvation process, based on what the Bible says? What did Peter say below?
      Acts 11:15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.
      Acts 11:16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.
      Based on Luke 3:16, and John 1:33, and Acts 11:15-16, the most important thing about the word "baptize" in the New Testament has nothing to do with water. The Holy Spirit is the master teacher promised to New Covenant believers in Jeremiah 31:34, and John 14:26, and is found fulfilled in Ephesians 1:13, and 1 John 2:27. Unfortunately, many modern Christians see water when they read the word "baptize" in the text. Based on the above, what is the one baptism of our faith found in the passage below? How many times is the word "Spirit" found in the passage, and how many times is the word "water" found in the passage?
      Eph 4:1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
      Eph 4:2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
      Eph 4:3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
      Eph 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
      Eph 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
      “baptize” KJV
      Mat_3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
      Mar_1:4 John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
      Mar_1:8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.
      Luk_3:16 John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:
      Joh_1:26 John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;
      Joh_1:33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

    I grew up in a home that started out Southern Baptist-came to faith in Christ as a child. When the SB Association started allowing things that were not scriptural, my parents and the leaders of our local church decided to separate from the SBA. And became an independent Baptist church. Just using the Bible. Early as an adult, I searched for my beliefs not just what my parents believed, but what I knew to be right for myself. I visited a lot of different churches, examined different faiths. Nearly 20 years later, I wound up right back in an Independent Baptist church. Because to me, a church, a pastor must be true to God’s holy word. Opinions come and go-only God remains the same.

    I really apreciate what Pastor Jhon Piper does, even tough I'm not a baptist.I will be 16 years old soon, and I go to a deutsch reformat church, wich doesn't mean, that I prefer a denomination, than true christianity. I learnt many things by baptist Pastors, from youtube. I really think, that this kind of baptism what baptists do is a very beautiful thing, but I'm also not against infant baptism. I've read many articles about that things, because I've searched the truth. I think, that infant baptism can be as meaningful, as baptism at older age, if we use it with responsibility. The point what I want to say, is that it doesn't matter when get someone baptised, if he doesn't put his faith in Jesus Christ. Noone was saved by baptism, only trusting in Jesus.
    I love TRUE christians, regardless of their denominations. And I'm thankful for God, that he showed me a little bit of everything. I think it's prideful to say, that only I have the truth and this denomination, when the church is one. I believe, that God can use everyoone, and there is a cause, why are we in that group in what we are. God bless! May the Lord be glorified now and forever!

    Long post:
    I was baptized as a Catholic when I was a baby, I was confirmed as a Methodist, and I professed my faith in Christ in front of a Baptist congregation and baptised in the Jordan river by a Baptist Pastor. I am greatful to God for this journey and to my redeemer Jesus. What Iam trying to say is that.. I see comments defacing different sects over here when what we should be doing is getting over our personal prejudices, pray and try to unite all christians under correct theology that's derived from Gods word.."The Bible". What different denominations do is exploit, misquote and misinterpret the scripture to draw out and validate their own persuits as beliefs and confirm it from the Bible. We should be strong in the word in Christ that's it and that will happen if one reads the scripture and asks the holy spirit for guidance and revelation. Our persuits should be that whatever church we go to does its practices confirm with what the scripture say and whatever the Pastor preaches does it confirm with the Bible and I don't mean an out of context text but actually reading the quoted scripture back and forth, verses before and after to search what is actually says and in what context or situation of that time does the speaker say it. May God bless whoever reads my comment and ignite that fire in their heart to pursue God's word and his will in their life.

    • @robmarshall956
      @robmarshall956 3 года назад +1

      @@rogerbrady2003rab sorry dinner 🍲 Well being born again applies to people who have accepted Jesus as their Savior or Redeemer. The born again soul realizes that they are a sinner (Romans 3:23) and that the penalty for that sin is death (Romans 6:23). To rectify the circumstances, God sent His only Son to die in their place, to take the punishment for sin (Romans 5:8). After Jesus’ death, He arose from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:3-6). Jesus is the only way to God (John 14:6) and He provides the blessing of salvation. Each person has the choice to receive or reject God’s gift through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9) and experience new birth (John 3:1-8). Whoever follows Jesus as Christ, the Son of God, and has accepted His gift of life can be called Christian. That is where the journey of rebirth begins.
      So when Jesus talked with Nicodemus, He said, “‘I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.’ ‘How can a man be born when he is old?’ Nicodemus asked. ‘Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb to be born!’ Jesus answered, ‘I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, “You must be born again”’” (John 3:3-7).
      So this is a birth from above, a registration in the book of life, a immediate justification of one )
      The apostle Paul in Ephesians 2:1 says, "And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins" ). To the Romans he wrote, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). Sinners are spiritually “dead”; when they receive spiritual life through faith in Christ, the Bible likens it to a rebirth. Only those who are born again have their sins forgiven and have a relationship with God.
      Ephesians 2:8-9 states, "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast." When one is saved, he/she has been born again, spiritually renewed, and is now a child of God by right of new birth. Trusting in Jesus Christ, the One who paid the penalty of sin when He died on the cross, is the means to be "born again." "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation: the old has gone, the new has come!" (2 Corinthians 5:17).
      So I had infant baptism (Anglican) confirmation at 16 (Anglican) and went my own way and was saved at 43, I believed at 8,13,15,16,18,21,28,31,35,41 and was saved at 43 ) we are asked to step into all the steps but none are salvational, the free gift of faith and repentance comes when God decides and this is when we will be indwelt.
      The Holy Spirit is the believers’ Helper (John 14:26). He indwells believers and seals them until the day of redemption-this indicates that the Holy Spirit’s presence in the believer is irreversible. He guards and guarantees the salvation of the ones He indwells (Ephesians 1:13; 4:30). The Holy Spirit assists believers in prayer (Jude 1:20) and “intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God” (Romans 8:26-27).
      The Holy Spirit regenerates and renews the believer (Titus 3:5). At the moment of salvation, the Spirit baptizes the believer into the Body of Christ (Romans 6:3). Believers receive the new birth by the power of the Spirit (John 3:5-8). The Spirit comforts believers with fellowship and joy as they go through a hostile world (1 Thessalonians 1:6; 2 Corinthians 13:14). The Spirit, in His mighty power, fills believers with “all joy and peace” as they trust the Lord, causing believers to “overflow with hope” (Romans 15:13).
      Sanctification is another work of the Holy Spirit in the life of a believer. The Spirit sets Himself against the desires of the flesh and leads the believer into righteousness (Galatians 5:16-18). The works of the flesh become less evident, and the fruit of the Spirit becomes more evident (Galatians 5:19-26). Believers are commanded to “be filled with the Spirit” (Ephesians 5:18), which means they are to yield themselves to the Spirit’s full control.
      The Holy Spirit is also a gift-giver. “There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them” (1 Corinthians 12:4). The spiritual gifts that believers possess are given by the Holy Spirit as He determines in His wisdom (verse 11)
      The Holy Spirit also does work among unbelievers. Jesus promised that He would send the Holy Spirit to “convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment” (John 16:8, ESV). The Spirit testifies of Christ (John 15:26), pointing people to the Lord. Currently, the Holy Spirit is also restraining sin and combatting “the secret power of lawlessness” in the world. This action keeps the rise of the Antichrist at bay (2 Thessalonians 2:6-10).
      The Holy Spirit has one other important role, and that is to give believers wisdom by which we can understand God. “The Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. For who knows a person’s thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God” (1 Corinthians 2:10-11). Since we have been given the amazing gift of God’s Spirit inside ourselves, we can comprehend the thoughts of God, as revealed in the Scripture. The Spirit helps us understand. This is wisdom from God, rather than wisdom from man. No amount of human knowledge can ever replace the Holy Spirit’s teaching (1 Corinthians 2:12-13).
      Many people can’t speak to when they were actually saved it wasn’t a Damascus road experience, mine was, the important thing is we know we are in the book of life and indwelt )

    1 Questions for our separated brothers and sisters in Christ
    1) How does you church interpret the bible? Historically/Plain-text? Context?
    2) What makes your bible interpretation more valid than other church's?
    3) How do you know it is, indeed, the Holy Spirit guiding your church, pastor, or set of beliefs?
    4) Currently, there over 40,000 Christian denominations. There are thousands that claim to be non-denominational. For example: Assemblies of God, Church of Christ, Church of God, Calvary Chapel, Harvest etc.. All of them use the Bible, and claim that the Holy Spirit helps them to interpret the Bible. Is it the Holy Spirit inspiring over 40,000 different messages that disagree with one another. Do you think that it is the Holy Spirit causing so much division amongst Christians? Or, is it a demonic spirit?
    In 1 Corinthians 1:10 the bible tells us, "I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment.
    5) At your current church, is the cross at the high center of the church or the pastor? If so, why?
    6) Does your church constantly criticize other church's beliefs during their bible studies or services to emphasis on how others have salvation wrong and they've got it right?
    7) Can anyone who can read teach the bible? What makes a person qualified or authorized to teach the bible?
    8) Who founded the first Christian Church?
    9) Who founded your church and in what year?
    10) Is your church apostolic? Apostolic, meaning passed on by Christ's apostles for over 2,000 years.
    11) What church(s) did your church
    break off from, and what was the motive?
    12) What came first, the church or the bible?
    13) Where did the bible come from? Who wrote it? Who decided which books were to be included and which books were to be rejected?
    14) The bible tells us, "so then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught, whether by word of mouth or by letter from us." 2 Thess 2:15 Where in the bible does it say that scripture alone is to be used to interpret scripture?
    15) What is the pillar and foundation of the truth? The church or the bible?
    1 Timothy 3:15
    15 if I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God’s household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.
    16) If one only needs to believe in the Bible (The Word) to be saved and the bible was not completed until 392AD, how did early Christians come to the faith, practice it and pass it on?
    2 Thessalonians 3:6
    Now we command you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from any brother who is walking in idleness and not in accord with the tradition that you received from us."
    1 Cor. 11:2, "Now I praise you because you remember me in everything, and hold firmly to the traditions, just as I delivered them to you."
    17) If we can trust the Catholic Church to give us the bible, why can't we trust the Church to interpret it?
    18) Non-Catholic Churches often argue that the Church that Christ founded on Peter became corrupted, and that therefore, reformed Christian Churches were created. So the question is: If the Church that Christ Himself established became corrupted, what makes anyone think that they can establish a better one?
    Matthew 28:20
    Teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
    19)Did Jesus not keep his promise?
    Matthew 16:18
    18 And I tell you, you are Peter,and on this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. *
    20) Does Jesus Christ really hate religion?
    James 1:27
    27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
    If so, why does Jesus instruct Peter to build Him a church in Matthew 16:16-18? What does the word religion mean?
    21) Why do some denominations believe that we are saved by faith only? Where in the bible can we find the words faith and alone together?
    Faith Without Works Is Dead
    James 2:14-26
    14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
    18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your[a] works, and I will show you my faith by my[b] works. 19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe-and tremble! 20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?[c] 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? 22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? 23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.”[d] And he was called the friend of God. 24 You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.
    25 Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way?
    26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

      As a bible baptist Christian, baptism is just an obedience to Lord Jesus Christ but not a guarantee of your salvation. There are many people who claim to be Christians but are not saved yet. Salvation by faith in Christ Eph. 2:8-9
      (Repentance of sin, believe in His ressurection, accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour). John 14:6,
      then follows water baptism as it is the will of God.
      Read and follow the bible especially the book of romans as it is the book refers to the Road of Salvation.

    Eph 4:1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
    Eph 4:2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
    Eph 4:3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
    Eph 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
    Joh_1:26 John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;
    Joh_1:33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

    It Is sad to see how the ignorance of the believers produce divisions, if they just knew the true Greek meaning of Xristianos and Ecclesia. If they just knew...

    "The Lord describes the three types of unworthy disciples in Luke 9. Verses 57-58 describes Catholics who want the best the world has to offer as well as personal salvation; verses 59-60 describes Protestants, who place family and business before seeking the Lord with a whole heart; and verses 61-62 describes Pentcostal/charismatics who confuse their base emotions as the Holy Spirit's leading. These folks are unworthy disciples because (1) they don't pray without ceasing, (2) they may read their Bible, but they don't study it prayerfully, and (3) because they lean to their own understanding, they fail to look to the needs of others as the Spirit leads. And before the religionists freak out, there are in fact folks who seek the Lord with a whole heart, having died to self and allowing the Spirit to show them the path of righteousness (not mere 'right & wrong') IN CHRIST."

    I think we need to stop championing individual denominations but only the church herself and Christ so the world can see our unity. Pride in denomination is still pride. We need to unite with each other. Claiming one denomination seems harmful to me

    To many churches don't teach the truth about salvation . Nor do the teach the truth of divorce and remarriage. The Baptist are as guilty as anyone.

    So what really happened is that Peter, Paul and a few other guys were watching Mary Magdalene and her friends take their weekly baths in the river. After they left they saw Jesus and John up river and they were playing some kind of naked dunking game. So Peter says, "Hey, what are you guys doing?" Jesus and John were caught off guard so John says, "Oh... um.... I'm dunking Jesus in the river like that story we heard in school about Achilles. You know, make him immortal." So the guys kinda say, "Oh, ok, whatever." As they are walking away Peter says, "Those two are always playing grab ass somewhere while the rest of us men are spying on the ladies." Then Paul says, "That John guy is Batshit Crazy, and now he's playing some naked dunking game with Jesus. I mean.... not that there's anything wrong with that." So from then on they referred to John as "John the Batshit". Move ahead a few centuries, several different language translations of the story, and "Batshit" became "Baptist". So basically the Baptist religion is based on some Baptist, aka "Batshit", naked guys dunking each other in a river.
