Let me help you. I am an 85 year old classically trained singer with a wide range and music is my life!! Diana Ankudinova is a Cinderella story. She is a mixed race young lady with a Russian mother and an unknown "native" father. (Probably Mongolian) She was born in Arsenyev, Russia on May 31, 2003 which, is close to the Pacific Ocean, the border with China and the border with Inner Mongolia. When she was three (3) years old, relatives found her in the street with a broken collar bone in the middle of winter. None of them wanted her because they thought she was mentally defective. They sent her to a Russian Orphanage, where she stayed for two (2) years. At five (5) years of age, she was adopted by a Russian woman named Irena and this was the beginning of a remarkable journey. Because her language was so poor, her Foster Mother took her to a vocal coach and they discovered she had musical talent. She is now 17 and in the intervening twelve (12) years she has developed into a teenager with an adult singing voice which is very unusual. You correctly identified her as a Contralto with a mesmerizing voice and she sings in Russian, English, Spanish and French. She is an excellent yodeler with a vocal timbre like no other. Technically every singer produces electronic waves which one can not hear with the sound you can hear. These waves are usually produced in the Octave which each voice is most comfortable singing in, i.e bass,baritone, tenor, contralto, etc. Diana's waves include the entire spectrum of her musical range which makes the timbre of her voice so powerful, deep, rich and mesmerizing. Igor Trutoy has taken her under his wing and helped her. Many have said she is a contralto. If you want raw, tribal emotion you would do no worse than to watch Rechenka (Реченька) and Blizzard (Вьюга) both of which were performed on this show; the former when she was 14 (difficult to believe) and the latter 15 - both in Russian but you won't need a translation because she gives you the story herself.

And if you follow Crystal Children that are born with special talents I recomment Angelina Jordan - jazz prodigy, she won Norway Got Talent at age 7 singing Gloomy Sunday by Billie Holiday. You really should not niss her. Maybe see her debut on NGT or I Put A Spell On You, old blues songs from 50's that shwe recorded when she was 9 :) and also Amira Willighagen from Holland, she won Duch edition of Got Talent at 9 singing aria opera O Mio Babbino Caro which learned by herself from youtube. “Diana Ankudinova, A Russian National Treasure”, I have been following her for awhile. She is another very interesting story that you will discover. Wait until you hear “Take On Me” or "Human" or "Rechenka" Even though it is in Russian you still feel the emotion behind it. I've heard her sing in Russian, English, French and Spanish so far. No matter what language it is beautiful. Her Russian fans are the BEST! Igor said in an interview later that out of respect for Diana he wanted to wait for a pause so as not to interrupt the performance, always the gentleman.
And the Male Judge with the long hair sometime forgets to push the button with Diana and they have to remind him because he's in such a trance ,very funny . You know Igor presented her an apartment in Moscow after she won the show ?))

I've been following Diana from the moment Dimash posted her video on his channel (correction due to the comments: he may not have posted it but so I was told and looked her up because of it). Igor Krutoy didn't want to press the button because of its obnoxious noise, he didn't want to interrupt Diana and waited for a break in a song to do it. Diana has many songs but is still searching for her style. I don't necessarily like all of them but Wicked Game, Rechenka and Human are my absolute favorites. Please listen to Rechenka and then Human from the same show "You are super", its mind blowing.

One of the most striking thing about this song is the mood Isaak gave it. She takes it inb a totally different direction while still maintaining the intensity of the emotional setting. On the other hand. Angelina Jordan and a piano strips it down to the bare bones in an entirely new direction.

She just turned 17 the end of May (I believe). She has been taking lessons since from voice coaches etc. to improve her high registers/voice. You will get recommendations for her song Rechenka (River) .. from when she was 14 (same show). Just a quick note .. song is an old Russian folk song (from what I understand). An orphan bride goes to the river .. in pagan times where living and dead meet .. to talk to her dead mother. She talks of guests, and horses at the wedding and how she has no mother, no father to speak for her. Seems that in old Russian folklore you sang a sad song at a wedding to .. ???? remove sadness? In any case you see spirits of the river in the play .. quite fun. (apologies if I don't have it exactly right but it is sometimes hard to get exact facts with Google translating)

Thank you for your reaction! I've been following Diana from the moment Dimash posted her video on his channel (correction due to the comments: he may not have posted it but so I was told and looked her up because of it). Igor Krutoy didn't want to press the button because of its obnoxious noise, he didn't want to interrupt Diana and waited for a break in a song to do it. Diana has many songs but is still searching for her style. I don't necessarily like all of them but Wicked Game, Rechenka and Human are my absolute favorites. Please listen to Rechenka and then Human from the same show "You are super", its mind blowing.

She just turned 17 the end of May (I believe). She has been taking lessons since from voice coaches etc. to improve her high registers/voice. You will get recommendations for her song Rechenka (River) .. from when she was 14 (same show). Just a quick note .. song is an old Russian folk song (from what I understand). An orphan bride goes to the river .. in pagan times where living and dead meet .. to talk to her dead mother. She talks of guests, and horses at the wedding and how she has no mother, no father to speak for her. Seems that in old Russian folklore you sang a sad song at a wedding to .. ???? remove sadness? In any case you see spirits of the river in the play .. quite fun. (apologies if I don't have it exactly right but it is sometimes hard to get exact facts with Google translating)
I would say, to deceive the evil spirits, hiding the happy event, so keep them far away. Our Russian friends correct me, if I am wrong.
