Diana, a Dramatic Contralto singing soprano. Spell binding rendition sung in F minor. Not only is it her timbre or arrangement that makes this performance special for me. It's the pouring of emotions from Diana, this is just........ beautiful! My understanding is that Diana had some artistic input for this arrangement, the last two lines in her full chest voice has been added to the original arrangement. For those in your audience that don’t know, Diana Ankudinova was 18 years old when this performance took place during the 2021 season of a Russian vocal competition called the "ShowMaskGoOn!". Diana’s cover of the Elvis Presley classic "Can't Help Falling In Love", shows Diana Ankudinova has developed into what many vocal professionals believe is a true contralto. A singer who has mastered this polyphonic vocal technique can create one, sometimes two, different tones at the same time which adds to the harmonic overtones and undertones that can make it sound like more than one voice. This polyphonic ability is why some people mistakenly believe Diana Ankudinova is using some form of electronic voice manipulation or pitch correction software to alter or adjust her sound. Greetings from Scotland! Well that shocked you! But it's OK, it shocked ALL of us! Yes, this was show #1 of 9 shows. 1 each week. 9 contestants, NO JUDGES! Each contestant awards the others between 2 and 9 points, no points to themselves. First episode of I believe 9 episodes Diana was the last singer to perform .. The judges are other singers who are competing against Diana and each other .. and their reaction then is from her peers. It wasn't a "rendition" of the song. Lyrics and the song were left behind. It became her voice, the presentation, the intensity, the almost un-human drama of it.
The competition was going smoothly, each next artist was stronger than the previous one, the intrigue was remaining. Diana was the last. It was enough for her to sing a little better than the previous artist, and she would already be a winner. Instead, she took and flew into space. 3 octaves in one song delivered with the greatest passion i've ever seen in my life. Yes, she won by a wide margin. But there are still 8 rounds ahead, and in each round a song in a new genre awaits her.
Of course, the arrangements are written by the project team, the producers choose the songs, the participants perform these songs masterfully. Nine different musical styles. Among them there is a category - "Your choice", which means that once per show, a participant can choose a song himself, the show team will help to arrange the selected song. I went through the whole show, though I don't understand russian. Why did the lady in red suite sing several times and Diana only once (to be exact twice; the same song after winning)? Is it possible that every partipiciant gets in this series of shows the opportunity to sing more than once?

Each week new show would be presented with new song for each artist, but artists not able the choose any songs themselves. Somebody from the top authority choose song for them . They must during this competition sing pop, rock, folklore song , jazz , Grammy and other types of songs . It is very hard, because there no judges from other side. All artist singer involved in this competition same time are judges for each other. They have scale from 1-9 to judge each other in every week show. This first Diana's song from Elvis Presley repertoire " I can't help falling in love " . Good luck for Diana to be winner in this hard and long show . 🙏🏻

Hi Soul, (this was on 25 Sept 2021 - next show is 2 Oct 2021) This was the first of 9 shows. Each contestant(9) gets to sing 1 song of 9 different 'genres/styles'. In this first show Diana had to do a song from the Grammy Awards, next show someone else will have to do the Grammy. The tenth person in the middle of the top row is a different guest each show. The FULL video link below has 11 segments, the first is an intro to the show, the 9 that follow are all of the contestants performing, the second last segment is Diana singing, and the last segment is the voting session. No contestant can vote for themselves. The scoring points are from 2 to 9 and each point can only be given once in every show. (NO Judges, voting done by contestants) The contestants are as follows: 7 from the "Mask" show and 1 from the "Superstar"(Alica Mon) show, also 1 from the "You Are Super"(Diana) show. I was very shocked to see that someone of Diana's age would consider taking on something of such significance from the past, but to her credit, she performed this eleganty. It was beautiful and her voice just hypnotic and haunting. This has to be the one of the best of her performeces ive ever heard and the Russian overtones is mesmorising thoughout. Thank You, Diana... This is probably my favorite of Diana's performances: powerful, dramatic, emotional, & showy because she's just. that. damn. good & can pull it off! The competition consists of nine rounds. This was the first one and Diana won it by a huge margin (17 points difference to the second one). The Show is called "ShowMASKGoon" and the next eight episodes will air on the next eight successive Saturdays. There are nine competitors - all winners of Russian singing contest shows - which are also judging each other. Each episode they also have another guest star. Each episode the are assigned a different genre. This time Diana had to perform a song from the Grammy Awards. The competitors of course can't judge themselves. At the end of the show they give each other points from 9 points down to 2 points. The guest juror can also give 9 points total. This time the guest juror decided to give everyone 1 point equally. Diana got 7x 9 points, 1x 8 points and 1 point from the guest juror which amounts to 72 points. The second one got 55 points... The other competitors were visibly shocked and mesmerized by Diana's performance.

That was her performance for the first episode of an actual show running every saturday in Russia. She came first for this specific episode. Everyone was stunned after this performance. So far there has been 4 episodes and she didn't score that well on the following episodes. Other participants of the show are also very good..

Female singers usually don't reach their full vocal maturity until somewhere around 24 to 28 years of age although some reach it a little sooner, and others, a little later. Diana Ankudinova’s vocals are already developing well ahead of this schedule in reaching vocal maturity. Some believe she has already reached vocal maturity. I look forward to what Diana will sound like when in a few more years if she has not yet reached her full vocal maturity. If Diana is not now fully vocally mature when she is she will have had many more years of voice training with her voice teacher in addition to more years honing her on-stage live performance skills. When that day comes, there will be no doubt that Diana Ankudinova will be more of a vocal force than she is now. She will be a powerhouse to be reckoned with and a wonder to behold on stage.
Diana took part in the “ ShowMaskGoOn on” vocal competition in September of 2021 where she performed her cover of “Can’t Help Falling In Love”. The judges were a panel of nine singers, all professionals in their own right competing against each other and also awarding judging points to each other. When Diana was not competing, she is a member of this judging panel. During Diana’s performance, the judge on the top row that stands up is a famous Russian tenor, Yusif Eyvazov from Azerbaijan who was a special guest judge for this competition. He is married to the world-famous soprano Anna Netrebko.
Julia Parshuta, a well-known contemporary Russian singer is the blond woman standing in the center row dressed in red that looks totally shocked at the end of Diana's performance and then puts both hands on top of her head with a look of total bewilderment and disbelief. Julia Parshuta, along with all the other judges knows at some point she and all the other judges have to compete against Diana Ankudinova, who is a generational talent. Finally yes, Diana won this competition.

The ShowMaskGoon is a new TV show on Russian HTB channel, every saturday (8 episodes left), where best/winners of 3 music shows (The Mask, You are Super, Superstar) perform,
and vote giving 2 to 9 points to each other at every episode's end. So Diana sits with them when others perform.
They got only one 9 point, one 8 point, etc.
So they are forced to give 2 points to someone, and they wont vote for themselves.

Greetings from Scotland! Well that shocked you! But it's OK, it shocked ALL of us! Yes, this was show #1 of 9 shows. 1 each week. 9 contestants, NO JUDGES! Each contestant awards the others between 2 and 9 points, no points to themselves. It wasn't a "rendition" of the song. Lyrics and the song were left behind. It became her voice, the presentation, the intensity, the almost un-human drama of it.
The competition was going smoothly, each next artist was stronger than the previous one, the intrigue was remaining. Diana was the last. It was enough for her to sing a little better than the previous artist, and she would already be a winner. Instead, she took and flew into space. 3 octaves in one song delivered with the greatest passion i've ever seen in my life. Yes, she won by a wide margin. But there are still 8 rounds ahead, and in each round a song in a new genre awaits her.

Thank you for your nice reaction to Diana . It is very long competition- big , big show on Russian TV for approximately 9 week . There is 9 artist involved in this competition. Each week new show would be presented with new song for each artist, but artists not able the choose any songs themselves. Somebody from the top authority choose song for them . They must during this competition sing pop, rock, folklore song , jazz , Grammy and other types of songs . It is very hard, because there no judges from other side. All artist singer involved in this competition same time are judges for each other. They have scale from 1-9 to judge each other in every week show.

This was the first of 9 shows. Each contestant(9) gets to sing 1 song of 9 different 'genres/styles'. In this first show
Diana had to do a song from the Grammy Awards, next show someone else will have to do the Grammy.
The tenth person in the middle of the top row is a different guest each show.
The FULL video link below has 11 segments, the first is an intro to the show, the 9 that follow are all of the contestants
performing, the second last segment is Diana singing, and the last segment is the voting session.
No contestant can vote for themselves. The scoring points are from 2 to 9 and each point can only be given once in
every show. (NO Judges, voting done by contestants)
The contestants are as follows: 7 from the "Mask" show and 1 from the "Superstar"(Alica Mon) show, also 1 from the
"You Are Super"(Diana) show.

I was very shocked to see that someone of Diana's age would consider taking on something of such significance from the past, but to her credit, she performed this eleganty. It was beautiful and her voice just hypnotic and haunting. This has to be the one of the best of her performeces ive ever heard and the Russian overtones is mesmorising thoughout. Thank You, Diana... The competition consists of nine rounds. This was the first one and Diana won it by a huge margin (17 points difference to the second one).
The Show is called "ShowMASKGoon" and the next eight episodes will air on the next eight successive Saturdays.
There are nine competitors - all winners of Russian singing contest shows - which are also judging each other. Each episode they also have another guest star. Each episode the are assigned a different genre. This time Diana had to perform a song from the Grammy Awards.
The competitors of course can't judge themselves. At the end of the show they give each other points from 9 points down to 2 points.
The guest juror can also give 9 points total. This time the guest juror decided to give everyone 1 point equally.
Diana got 7x 9 points, 1x 8 points and 1 point from the guest juror which amounts to 72 points.
The second one got 55 points...
The other competitors were visibly shocked and mesmerized by Diana's performance.

That was her performance for the first episode of an actual show running every saturday in Russia. She came first for this specific episode. Everyone was stunned after this performance. So far there has been 4 episodes and she didn't score that well on the following episodes. Other participants of the show are also very good..
