WHAAA? You’re telling me that you’re sinning this just because a dude wore 50 masks all at the same time and even cut his head off to replace it with a robotic head just because he expected his masks to be taken off in the middle of the robbery while he had 75 gunmen around him to protect him while the main character doesn’t get shot for taking his masks off one by one in front of everybody because of a plotty bullcrap?
Maybe it would've been better if LEGO Shaq had attempted and sunk a free throw. Definitely something they would not have been ready for.
That scene should have had a sin removed
Fun fact: Emmet's face is more bland compared to any of the other character's faces. This is a reference to the old style of LEGO figure faces that all had the same •_• expression. It wasn't until 1989 that they started to paint other faces since people noticed how creepy it looks.
Still, Emmett was able to convey more emotion than anyone in The Mulan remake

It wasn't due to creepiness; it was due to the boring sameness. The original intent was to keep the faces as bland as possible, so the kids' imaginations could fill in the rest.
I think there should be a sin off because the tracking device on Emmet can be seen on his leg the whole time in Cloud Cuckoo Land.

Can we just sit back and admire the animation quality in this movie? Like it's computer-animated, but it looks sooo unbelievably real. The flaws and wear-marks on the Lego showcases absolutely incredible attention detail. I can't believe it's not real. Literally the best CGI I've ever seen, hands down.
i can't really say i agree. while yes it looked mostly realistic, even when i used to believe it was mostly stop-still animation i still thought half the movie was CGI. where as i have seen several movies with completely flawless CGI all throughout.

Film Cinematic the animators actually added in small details like slightly noticeable fingerprints on the Lego figures just to give it a real feel
Supers: Heroes and Funnies many of these scenes would be impossible without CGI, making it pretty obvious they're using it
While it was all CGI, the makers of the movie made sure that you could pause any scene and build it in just the way you see it (if you had all the required pieces)
My favorite part about Benny is how he goes mentally, and physically insane when he can make a spaceship

Actually, the Lego bikes work like this: there's a thin, vertical piece of plastic near the handlebars that fits perfectly in the slot between the Leto figure's legs, allowing them to stay on. They don't sit on the stud. Now who's thinking too much about the practicalities of transportation in an animated movie, bitch?

Actually the early lego bike u said he could only sit on with only one leg is wrong lego figures sit on lego bikes between there legs there is a place in between the bars and the stud you talked about where you would place the lego figure. So the lego figure would also be at a angle so that you as a builder could place the lego figures hands on the handle bars. Anyways I came here to talk about it and these guys I guess agree with me.

I *think* it has to do with how this kind of scene normally plays out in movies. Usually, a dying character will have all the time in the world to say everything they need to say, and only once they're done talking do they die. Here, Vitruvius sounds like he's about to enact this very cliche, and then before he can say anything, he just suddenly croaks.

You have never seen me play with LEGO as a child, but if you did, it would as dramatic not more so than this. Maybe it's just me, but I used to put my heart, soul and creative effort into very convoluted stories. I was a weird kid
Not just you. I didnt have LEGOs myself, but my neighbor did and we would come up with the craziest stuff over the course of like 7 hours. We would build and destroy things, give everyone a backstory, and even add in his model trains to make different towns.
Uh, it really seems less that its his imagination, and more like the people are more like unaware gods for a parallel universe. Considering he could still move outside of legoland, unless the kid is just a really powerful psychic, but I don't think that is what they were going for.

(1:21) A LEGO Bike is ridden by wedging a thin part of the Bike in-between the Minifigure's legs while in standing position. The stud is located in the back of the Bike, not the seat.

Edit: I love this movie mainly because I wish I could be… part of it, in a way. My twin brother was always the more obsessed between us when it comes to legos. He is a Master Builder; I am not. It kind of extends past Legos just to creativity as well: he has ideas for writing, I do not anymore. I don’t want to stop being creative.
Edit part two: Also, I’d give two sins off at the start of the Wild West setting - one for WyldStyle hitting Emmett with a cactus and one for WyldStyle throwing a horse at Emmett, because both of those are funny to me. But that’s just personal taste
I feel like the dad probably ordered the figure custom, y’know, because this is his set. It’s the equivalent of a customized video game avatar.
Bonus sin: Either the dad built this massive set and then walked away, not even bothering to check on it over the course of the movie, allowing the kid to build a bunch of extensions we see, or this all happened within a day, presumably only after school considering the dad is wearing office attire, both of which are dumb because everyone knows that if you built something massive like this you’d be checking on it every other minute, especially because you have kids in the house who will not hesitate to wreck if you look away for two minutes.

Actually, LEGO bikes like that exist in real life. Minifigures don't sit on the stud, there's a thin sheet of plastic in front of the stud that goes in between a Minifigure's legs. Look it up. So i don't count that as a sin on this movie.

At first i thought it was just a bad joke but then i realized that was retarded.
CinemanSins, just so that you know, at 1:25, you say that since there is only one stud, only half of his ass would be on the seat. However, that is not how those bikes work. That back stud is to add details such as a basket onto, and the LEGO minifig stays on by putting its legs on either side of this thin plane in the seat area.

Not because of CinemaSins. "Deus ex Machina" is a stylistic device that exists pretty much as long as fiction itself. So that's why the movie is named that as well.

I just realized something: Has this movie ever gotten any notable Hype Backlash? Is there a sizeable group of people who, after the awards and praise really started coming in, raised their voices of "It's not THAT good" and "It's SO overhyped"? Because I cannot recall hearing that happened with this movie. I heard it for Frozen and Undertale, and with nearly unanimous praise from all sides, it should have happened, right?
But no. Nothing is coming to mind. There were unanimous boos at this getting snubbed at the Oscars; there wasn't a single person saying "Well, it didn't deserve one anyway" or "Maybe you people are just whining and it didn't win anything because they decided it shouldn't?"
Could it be that it's just THAT good? Or maybe that it didn't get quite AS much money as say Frozen, which lowered the chances of the cheering voices getting as loud?
Or am I just blissfully oblivious?
P.S. I'm not just talking about someone or multiple people disliking The Lego Movie. I mean, there has to be more like a community, a movement of people not liking a movie. You know what I mean, right?

I don't think anyone really thought it would be very good. And when it was, just about everyone was like 'Really? It doesn't suck? Huh.' And while plenty of people think it's awesome, those that are left mostly just think it's good enough to not warrant any real hatred simply because their expectations were so low to begin with.
Considering how much backlash popular films tend to get, I'm surprised at the lack of any backlash I've heard. All the public rage surrounding this movie was focused on it not getting an Oscar nomination for best animated feature.
