There is a mistake here in thinking that this movie is not part of the Lego Universe. The entire plot of Gotham sitting on a thin plate above 2 columns with only abyss in the center, is referencing the fact that they're on a table top. That's why they can make references to every version of Batman and all those other non-DC characters can fit into the story. There are a few other moments that show the Lego-iness of the world, like at the end when they take off hair and connect heads together, or when Batman teaches Robin to be a "Master-Builder". They're subtle but they're there.

(The French dub for theaters was pretty basic, they kept the name "Dick', and since most frenchies speak some English (first foreign language taught in school, with usually either Spanish & German as secondary language), or at least know what dick means, so it kinda worked I guess. My audience was weird.
