Probably someone has already mentioned it, but may as well for the sake of it. Originally Val Kilmer planned to reprise his role for Batman and Robin. However, he had taken the lead role in The Saint (also released in 1997), so they wound up recasting his role to George Clooney. Thus explaining why Clooney doesn't fit as Batman, he wasn't supposed to play him to start with. Not that replacing him with Kilmer would've fixed anything, but it is something to think about. Although, they did plan to have Clooney try Batman again in the cancelled Batman Unchained. Why did that get cancelled? Well, Batman and Robin obviously. It didn't make nearly the money the other films made, plus Clooney was *deeply* resistant to playing Batman again. But, the premise of Batman Unchained would live on into the 2000's. How? Simple...it's called Batman Begins.
Lol Batman Begins has nothing to do with Batman Unchained. Reach harder. The premise lived on??? So Batman Unchained, a movie they planned to have George Clooney REPRISE his role as Batman in, shares a premise with Batman Begins, an origin story? Somehow... somehow I think you're not very well informed there, bud.
Actually it isn't Batman Begins at all but it does have a striking ressemblance to Arkham Knight's plot, down to Dead Joker Coming Back As A Result of Fear Toxin Hallucination
Reading this again, this is legitimately one of the most insufferably condescending and pretentious (yet somehow still incredibly ill-informed) comments I've ever seen. This is just so, so dumb, and you're obviously so, so desperate to sound smart.
5:17 Also, there's the fact that in almost every other Batman movie, game, and piece of media Batman can glide using his cloak. So why didn't he do that here? This movie seems to imply that a Batman who puts ice skates in his boots to prepare for the most ludicrously improbable situations ever can't even save himself from FALLING without AIR SURFING ON A DOOR. Even Mr. Freeze had the sense to put wings on his suit!
I'm so upset that this was my first exposure to bane because now any time I see him act like he's supposed to a small part of my brain screams "This isn't right"
Hot take- I actually liked the Clooney casting. Everyone thought he was attractive, he’s a solid actor who’s done some good films, and in the same way that people often post side by sides of Affleck and Bruce from the animated series and recognize the similarities, I see those similarities with Clooney as well. I think he was a good choice for the role, and I think he’s the best part of the film, he just had a bad script. But there’s (very) few moments in this film that are very deep emotional moments, and I think Clooney nails them. If this movie could have just scrapped the corny jokes and kept a more emotional and serious tone (and gotten rid of the bat nipples), I think Clooney could have played a fine Batman/Bruce Wayne. Just my opinion 🤷🏻♂️
To me Clooney often comes off as too smug/annoyingly smug which is pretty bad for Batman and even for public Bruce Wayne, he can have, do well serious dark side but pretty rarely.
Wasn’t that bad, I enjoyed it as a kid. And as a adult I see it as more of a homage to the 60s Batman I grew up watching with me nan. I do prefer the grittier Batman movies of the last 20 years. But the 90s were fun, so why shouldn’t the movies be? More content like this please!

7:57 What’s funny is that the dark knight did the same thing. Bane in the comics doesn’t outsmart Batman but knows his insane strength easily makes up for everything else. So he uses his smarts to force Batman into certain combat scenarios where bane would ultimately win but in dark knight the joker is nothing like his comic counterpart at all, bane is all philosophical and annoying and his fights are all janky and not overwhelming Batman with sheer strength and scarecrow is just the mad hatter.
I watched this film last night for probably the third time but I'm now at an age where I can understand what is going on and it was just insane. Watching it with me was my seven year old younger brother, and when the credits rolled he literally said "that was the worst movie I've ever seen" that tells you about everything you need to know 🤣 either way, it's so fun to watch because it's just a mind f**k the whole way through
I loved that movie so much when I first saw it as a kid. I rewatched it at the start of this year, and I loved it even more. I genuinely cannot understand the hate for this movie. It's a product of it's time, its goofy and silly and it's hilarious at times because it's so silly. It also gave me a massive crush on Poison Ivy when I first saw it, because my god, Uma Thurman absolutely crushes that role. I can acknowledge it wasn't necessarily well made from the technical side and the dialogue and such, but although it wasn't necessarily well made, it's still an absolute gem of a movie and much more enjoyable than people give it credit for. Good? That's endlessly debatable due to the questionable nature of how a movie can be defined as objectively good. There's certainly a lot to enjoy though. And side note, neither Iron Man 2 or Age of Ultron were bad movies. Thor the Dark World was a much weaker movie than either of them, but even that was a gem when compared to the boring Captain Marvel, or the heaping pile of garbage that is She Hulk.
I do agree that Uma Thurman was definitely the best part. She was the only actor that actually appeared like she was having fun and really fit with the style of the film.
LEGO batman was good, but I would definitely not rate it as the best. I guess it's an apples and oranges thing though. If you prefer comedy over drama, you'll probably favor the more comedic movies. I like both dramatic movies and comedic movies, even with comic book movies, as long as it's done well. Make me laugh or make me cry, but don't make me yawn or groan. People actually selected it once as a city for Durex to try a new condoms program. Durex let the public do that to "relate to them". Batman never got their condoms.

My favorite thing surrounding this movie is probably the tie-in roller coaster at Six Flags that ended up causing blackouts in the surrounding neighborhoods.
Out of the two Schumacher Batman movies, “Batman Forever” will always be a favorite of mine. “Batman & Robin” was one that I’ve seen so many times and was always just fun to watch every once in a while; but the end just just made me feel like I was watching an extended toy commercial.
wow, the nostalgia glasses were really on for this one. i had been dreading rewatching this quadrilogy now that i'm an adult because i knew it would probably let me down :/
Oh, the only one I liked from that era was the one where Catwoman was in. She was deranged and sexy! But yeah, you never really ponder on the damage the movies did to the characters and settings until you actually get on to contemplate the source material. To me they were a treat as a child as I they would only air them on Halloween night on the local airwaves, but taking the nostalgia away, it is incredible how many blunders these movies went thru and nobody spoke up, up to the "You're seriously investing a fifth of the entire freaking budget on a guy you can get on board for a few hundred bucks at the local Gold's Gym?". Back then I didn't even knew that was Arnold until I watched these a decade later while baked, lolz, so yeah, great use of those 25M buckaroos, fvскaroo. The 90's had a lot of pretty great memorable moments, but I don't think anyone will miss its griting blend of movies with 80's technoboners mixed with the era's _grunge and sexual aggressivity._ To exemplify the 90's better, I used to be *terrified* of Chuckie from _Child's Play_ until I grew up to be tall and heavy enough to wonder "Why didn't noone punt the cunt like a football? What, is a one foot tall pint sized doll prick as strong as Andre the Giant or what? Sell that shit on Eb-" oh yeah, I forgot eBay was not part of the 90's.
In most cases Chucky used surprise attacks which makes it impossible to beat him in this situation since no one would expect a doll killing you. And also Chucky is as strong as an adult human being
Batman & Robin is a serious guilty pleasure for me. It's so unfunny that it's funny, I get to laugh at how bad it is today. There are other movies that piss me off way more than Batman & Robin, like any of the Transformers sequels, Rise of Skywalker, or just about every Live Action/CGI remake of an animated Disney movie.
I happened to watch Batman & Robin with my family last night. The next morning my mother was trash talking about it to my grandmother and how it wasn’t really about Batman or Robin, but about “an old man (Alfred) dying and Mr Freeze having the cure” and I quote.
Same, I guess this movie was meant for kids, as I probably believed that cameras can be invisible as a kid (when batman exposes poison ivy XD). yk what I mean, we were too young to break down science logic.
14:58 I don't think I want to know, but for any bigger Batman fan than me: when it comes to the kisses, is ivy's lips the the thing that poisons you, or is it her tongue plus saliva (or do she have like glands in the lips... Like this is the weirdest place to ponder, but I feel like despite the rubber lips, as soon as her tongue locks to his, he's screwed 😅)
It's one of those so bad it's good kinda movies, my brother used to not like it but has found newer love for it as it is That and we both chalk it up to be a corny comic book movie that's not supposed to adhere to our laws of nature and physics
There was a Doritos promotion with the movie. In a bag of 3d Doritos you get a gimmick film cell picture of a character. My brother still has Robin, Batman, and Mr. Freeze lol
Have you read the silver age Batman comic books? He dressed up as a mummy to distract the criminals from Robin glowing green because of radiation, and in another issue he turned into a merman because he was hit by lighting underwater. You've seen nothing.
1:50 no im sorry but "we" don't know the Pinguin as an italian mobster after just one average movie! Farell's version is still pretty far from the most popular version of Cobblepott
In the BTS on the DVD and Blu Ray for this film Chris O Donnell (Robin) admitted he just felt like he was making a massive toy commercial. Because Toy companies were constantly coming to the set and telling them to make suits and vehicles just like the toys. The movie only existed just so they could sell new Batman toys.
Ban is one of my favorite batman villains. The problem is they never completely did him justice in the movies, cause you have this movie which gives him the more comic like appearance, but then you have dark night rises Bane, and his Sean Connery impersonation, and that he doesn’t look that physically imposing compared to literally any version of him. Maybe The Batman movies will do him right one day. Speaking of, that gives me an idea and hope we get to see Margot Robbie as Dr. Harleen Quinzell
I fucking loved that movie growing up , i know it’s absolutely garbage but it holds a special place in my heart

Back then I didn't even knew that was Arnold until I watched these a decade later while baked, lolz, so yeah, great use of those 25M buckaroos, fvскaroo.
The 90's had a lot of pretty great memorable moments, but I don't think anyone will miss its griting blend of movies with 80's technoboners mixed with the era's _grunge and sexual aggressivity._
To exemplify the 90's better, I used to be *terrified* of Chuckie from _Child's Play_ until I grew up to be tall and heavy enough to wonder "Why didn't noone punt the cunt like a football? What, is a one foot tall pint sized doll prick as strong as Andre the Giant or what? Sell that shit on Eb-" oh yeah, I forgot eBay was not part of the 90's.
In most cases Chucky used surprise attacks which makes it impossible to beat him in this situation since no one would expect a doll killing you. And also Chucky is as strong as an adult human being
I haven't watch you in a while, honestly glad you're branching out your content
Batman & Robin is a serious guilty pleasure for me. It's so unfunny that it's funny, I get to laugh at how bad it is today. There are other movies that piss me off way more than Batman & Robin, like any of the Transformers sequels, Rise of Skywalker, or just about every Live Action/CGI remake of an animated Disney movie.
I never thought I'd ever see George as a movie reviewer. I never thought I'd love George as a movie reviewer
Arnie was actually the best part of the movie which has provided the world with some of the best Schwarzenegger quotes
Should've said "I'll be back"
Fun fact: the man who bid's $30,000 for the lovely magnolia is the same man who told Norman Osborn he was out in Spider-Man 2002
YOU CAN’T DO THIS TO ME
Clooney Bruce is more strict than the live action Master Splinter in the TMNT movies of the 90s. Holy Cruel & Unusual Punishment, Batman!! 6:36
This was one of my first Batman movies and I loved it as a kid. I still do. It's just so horrible it's a masterpiece.
This is honestly my favorite one in the quadrilogy! It’s so freaking campy! It feels like a higher budget version of the 1966 show!
@Scott Letourneau I like this Batman movie but it aint the best in the quadrology
This was the first movie my father ever bought me. I love the man dearly and very grateful. This movie for me as a 6yr was fun to watch.
1:07 aged poorly
I happened to watch Batman & Robin with my family last night. The next morning my mother was trash talking about it to my grandmother and how it wasn’t really about Batman or Robin, but about “an old man (Alfred) dying and Mr Freeze having the cure” and I quote.
I actually loved this movie as a kid, it was amazing for its time I believe i liked it
hell, i did too. then it went to hate because it was cool to hate on it. now it boomeranged back to loving it for its goofiness.
Same, I guess this movie was meant for kids, as I probably believed that cameras can be invisible as a kid (when batman exposes poison ivy XD).
yk what I mean, we were too young to break down science logic.
I remember watching this movie when I was off school sick and it honestly felt like a massive fever dream.
I was laughing the whole time and u were real funny especially with Robin "the infinity ward" and him saying "C O W A B U N G A ! ! !"
This movie is why we haven’t gotten a live action version of Robin after
0:50 Iron Man 2 is the best film in the trilogy. *FIGHT* *ME.*
Iron man 2 is SICK
Kid movie
TRUE!!!
It was good and so was age of ultron
I hated it from 1997 to 2005. Once I realized that without this piece of crap we would’ve never gotten the Nolan movies I accept it’s necessity.
Me when you go on a date and she says " I'm sorry this not working out" and you say 7:11
This video is the perfect mix of a 'High Boi' video and a serious movie review, you should do it more often
I like it how you’re a proper film critic now.
Catwoman is well fit - freaking laughing so hard at that!!!😂
14:58 I don't think I want to know, but for any bigger Batman fan than me: when it comes to the kisses, is ivy's lips the the thing that poisons you, or is it her tongue plus saliva (or do she have like glands in the lips... Like this is the weirdest place to ponder, but I feel like despite the rubber lips, as soon as her tongue locks to his, he's screwed 😅)
Okay, but I think we can all agree that "Kiss from a Rose" is one banger of a song from this movie's soundtrack
I actually love that movie 😂 I know it’s absolutely crap but that’s why I love it so much!
It's one of those so bad it's good kinda movies, my brother used to not like it but has found newer love for it as it is
That and we both chalk it up to be a corny comic book movie that's not supposed to adhere to our laws of nature and physics
I used to watch this film when I was little. Watching it again as a big adult I think I love it more because its so shit
This would be good series. Reviewing bad but classic films from the 90's and 80's
Try Nostalgia Critic. He reviewed this movie waaaaay back in the mid 2000's.
2:22 the only reason to watch this movie… Jim Carrey and Arnold Schwarzenegger
“Pull back, you can’t make the jump”
“I can make it!”
Duno why but that line stuck in my head for YEARS
0:16 This didn’t age well RIP the queen
Aged like fine wine 🍷
It’s been 2 years already?! Time really does fly.
What if Arnie was Batman, that'd be weird
This video was so well written! Keep it up 👍
7:50 "You wanna know how I got these tats" 😂😭💀
There was a Doritos promotion with the movie. In a bag of 3d Doritos you get a gimmick film cell picture of a character. My brother still has Robin, Batman, and Mr. Freeze lol
That Batman film feels like someone snorted meth and drank 5 bottles of vodka then made a film
Nah only fake fans say Batman and robin is a bad movie but the Nolan trilogy and pattyman movie are garbage
Have you read the silver age Batman comic books? He dressed up as a mummy to distract the criminals from Robin glowing green because of radiation, and in another issue he turned into a merman because he was hit by lighting underwater. You've seen nothing.
@@genyakozlov1316 well time for more meth
0:45 come on, ultron wasnt bad
I was just about to complain about him saying that age of ultron was bad. Like, it's one of The best marvel or at least avengers movies.
I literally just watched this movie today and I couldn't believe how I watched it when I was younger
3:45 WHEN THE GUN WENT FLYING AND YOU PLAYED SOUND EFFECT I JUST SPIT PUT MY 1:47AM WATER DUDE
0:07 That guy in the middle is my great uncle Grandpa, so seeing him in a Batman related video makes me happy
Use to like this movie when I was younger. Watching it now, injecting myself with gamma radiation would be preferable then watching it again.
My grandma bought this movie for me on cassette when I was a kid, fucking loved it and I know ive watched it more than 10 times minimum
2 hour toy commercial.
“I didn’t know dog sitting meant looking after the dog” I AM SOBBING. GEORGE WHAT FID U DO
1:50 no im sorry but "we" don't know the Pinguin as an italian mobster after just one average movie! Farell's version is still pretty far from the most popular version of Cobblepott
Bane really just disappeared at the end
to everyone who used to call george a ‘pyro clone’, you are correct
i actually loved this movie as a kid ironman 2 aswell
I used to love this movie when I was a kid. Watching it again now I can see how terrible it is.
