I like how even though dhar mann goes to extraordinary lengths to get actors of different ethnicities, races, nationalities, and sometimes even with disorders, but fails to get one British person.
As an American I was fully immersed until I realized there weren't any crumpets. Otherwise it was entirely believable nothing felt off whatsoever.
The crumpets and clotted cream were missing that completely broke my immersion 😩

Idiots seem to think that being British means you're English but that's a clear failure to understand what being British actually is. Britain is the name of the island. The name for the island predates the formation of the United Kingdom.
Also the United Kingdom is just that, before the age of today you had essentially what are factions/tribes. Those tribes evolved into kingdoms and kingdoms eventually fought. As an example in the south you had the two major powers being Wessex and Mercia. Ultimately one kingdom won and the formation of the Kingdom of England happened. Massively simplified. But basically the Saxons beat the Vikings, a treaty happened and eventually the sons waged wars on the Vikings and Welsh for land gains, eventually this lead to the Kingdom of England. Scotland came much later and that is just as complicated and the winners and losers of those wars is complicated and would take too much time to type.
Britain may have been known as such in early BC although is debated. However we do know that the Romans called it Britannia in late BC which translates to Britain.
Basically in short it goes like this. Kingdom of England (England) > Kingdom of England and Wales (England and Wales) > Kingdom of Great Britain (England, Wales and Scotland) > United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland (England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland) > (Ireland independence) > United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
