honestly, i like the prequels, i feel they were really let down by the animation and some of the strange lines (i dont like sand) but overall the characterisation and stories were strong (aside from the whole midiclorians thing that bit was weird)
I don't like sand is a strange line of dialouge? Well I mean that can sound strange from anybody if you remove context isn't it. But to clarify, Anakin grew up on a rough desert planet that being tatooine where sand storms would happen as evident in The Phantom Menace so him not liking sand makes sense. and he also said it to padme after she just finished talking about why she likes sand so there you go. and the Midiclorians arn't really that weird, from what I've been told they are based of mitochondria which do things in the body like heat production, storing calcium etc. And according to the film, Midichlorians are apparently microscopic organisms that have a symbiotic relationship with their host allowing them to tap into the force meaning the force is still an energy field like Obi wan described in a new hope meaning the force is still a mystery. As for the animation well the animation was really great for the time, heck George Lucas even needed to invent some of the technology in order to even make his vision possible and is now being used by things like the MCU for example so it's definatly come along way. Heck even the practical effects are so good too, the prequels even have more practical effects then the entire OT combined. Anyways don't take this as me attacking you or anything like that, you can still love the prequels but don't let big youtubers like Cosmonaut, Red letter media, I hate everything and so on convince you that the movies are bad, they are not. I don't really understand why this massive hate band wagon even started or how it got so big but all I can say is that people are starting to open their eyes and it's becoming more and more evident as time goes on. However WITH that being said the prequels have flaws here and there but let's be real what movies don't? Still though the flaws arn't big enough to make the movie bad and I will die on that hill.
I've always been more a fan of the prequels that the og trilogy, the og's just don't do it for me. Objectively I know they're better but the prequels just have that soft spot in me
Bro I thought the prequel trilogy was the best by a long shot. I really enjoyed the original trilogy and I liked the force awakens but nothing was as good as the prequels
Honestly, for me, I love the stories of both trilogies almost equally and they both have their moments, but the prequels are more visually appealing which makes me like them more( that's mainly cause of visual effects and camera quality).
I’ve never seen Star Wars, and I thought that opening sequence was a joke and a satire of politics or something, didn’t realise it was actually in the movie 💀
Jar Jar Binks could have been a character talked about in symmetry with Shakespeare's finest if not for George Lucas stopping that from becoming reality. Realising that the consequences of such a ground breaking character being introduced into a time period such as now would lead to mass revolution across the world resulting in the death of millions, George had to can the character. However, due to film executives realising the potential money in the Gungan savior, they forced George to add him causing George to limit Jar Jars story to a character clouded by mystery and comedic value. The world would not be the same if the story of the prophet Binks, was truly told. @@getfricked6977 since you have not received a response from him, allow me: The Trade Federation creates turmoil in the Galactic Republic by blockading the planet Naboo in protest of recent legislation taxing major galactic trade routes. The Republic's leader, Supreme Chancellor Finis Valorum, dispatches Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and his apprentice, Obi-Wan Kenobi, to negotiate with Trade Federation Viceroy Nute Gunray. Darth Sidious, a Sith Lord and the Trade Federation's secret benefactor, orders the Viceroy to kill the Jedi and begin an invasion with an army of battle droids, but the Jedi escape and flee to Naboo. During the invasion, Qui-Gon rescues a Gungan outcast, Jar Jar Binks. Indebted to Qui-Gon, Jar Jar leads the Jedi to Otoh Gunga, the Gungans' underwater city. The Jedi fail to persuade the Gungan leader, Boss Nass, to help the planet's surface dwellers, but manage to obtain Jar Jar's guidance and underwater transport to Theed, the capital city of Naboo. After rescuing Queen Amidala, the group make their escape from Naboo aboard her Royal Starship, intending to reach the Republic capital planet of Coruscant. Passing through the Federation blockade, the ship is damaged in the crossfire, and its hyperdrive malfunctions. The ship lands for repairs on the outlying desert planet of Tatooine, situated beyond the Republic's jurisdiction. Qui-Gon, Jar Jar, astromech droid R2-D2, and Queen Padmé Amidala (in disguise as one of her own handmaidens) visit the settlement of Mos Espa to purchase a new part for their hyperdrive. They encounter a junk dealer, Watto, and his nine-year-old slave, Anakin Skywalker, a gifted pilot and engineer who has built a protocol droid, C-3PO. Qui-Gon senses a strong presence of the Force within Anakin, and is convinced that he is the prophesied "Chosen One," destined to restore balance to the Force. With Watto refusing to accept payment in Republic currency, Qui-Gon wagers both the required hyperdrive part and Anakin's freedom in a podrace. Anakin wins the race and joins the group to be trained as a Jedi, reluctantly leaving behind his mother, Shmi. En route to their starship, Qui-Gon encounters Darth Maul, Sidious' apprentice, who was sent to capture Amidala. After a brief lightsaber duel Qui-Gon escapes aboard the starship with the others. Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan escort Amidala to Coruscant so that she can plead her people's case to Chancellor Valorum and the Galactic Senate. Qui-Gon informs the Jedi Council that his attacker was a Sith and subsequently asks for permission to train Anakin as a Jedi, but the Council refuses his request, concerned that Anakin is vulnerable to the dark side of the Force. Undaunted, Qui-Gon vows to take up Anakin as his new apprentice. Meanwhile, Naboo's Senator Palpatine persuades Amidala to call for a vote of no confidence in Valorum to elect a more capable leader and to resolve the crisis. Though she is successful in pushing for the vote, Amidala grows frustrated with the corruption in the Senate, and decides to return to Naboo. Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan are ordered by the Jedi Council to accompany the queen and investigate the return of the Sith, whom they had thought to be extinct for over a millennium. On Naboo, Padmé reveals herself as the actual queen before the Gungans to gain their trust, and persuades them to help against the Trade Federation. Jar Jar is promoted to general and joins his tribe in a battle against the droid army, while Padmé leads the search for Gunray in Theed. Qui-Gon tells Anakin to hide inside a starfighter in the palace hangar, but he accidentally triggers its autopilot, and flies into space, joining the Naboo pilots in their battle against the Federation droid control ship. With R2's help, Anakin pilots the fighter into the ship and causes its destruction from within, deactivating the droid army. Meanwhile, Maul, who has been dispatched by Sidious to assist Gunray, engages in a lightsaber duel with Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan. Maul mortally wounds Qui-Gon, but is then sliced in half by Obi-Wan and falls down a shaft. Qui-Gon asks Obi-Wan to train Anakin before dying in his arms. Following the battle, Gunray is arrested by the Republic, and Palpatine is elected Chancellor. Master Yoda promotes Obi-Wan to the rank of Jedi Knight, and reluctantly accepts Anakin as Obi-Wan's apprentice. A funeral is held for Qui-Gon, attended by the other Jedi, who contemplate that there is still one Sith remaining since there are always two of them. During a celebratory parade on Naboo, Padmé presents a gift of thanks to the Gungans to establish peace.
@@getfricked6977 The story is about Qui Gon and Obi wan trying to resolve a trade dispute on Naboo, the trade federation are planning on holding the senator of Naboo hostage to make their take over of naboo legal. Whilst on tatooine trying to repair the ship they find Anakin Skywalker and Qui Gon senses that Anakin is a highly strong force user and thinks that he is the chosen one who will bring balance to the force and so tries to bring him into the Jedi order. Whilst on their way back to Coruscant where the Jedi order is they are ambushed by Darth maul and are able to escape from the repaired cruiser where Qui Gon tries to get Anakin into being a Jedi still believing him to be the chosen one but the Council won't let him beliving anakin to be potentially dangerous because he is too old to traditionally be a jedi and has attachments like his mother for example. honestly, i like the prequels, i feel they were really let down by the animation and some of the strange lines (i dont like sand) but overall the characterisation and stories were strong (aside from the whole midiclorians thing that bit was weird)
The "i dont like sand" line has meaning if you deep it but its just funny out of context.

@@getfricked6977 since you have not received a response from him, allow me:
The Trade Federation creates turmoil in the Galactic Republic by blockading the planet Naboo in protest of recent legislation taxing major galactic trade routes.
Qui Gon and Obi Wan are able to escape naboo but suffer damages on the naboo cruiser because of the Trade federation's blockade causing them to have to land on Tatooine.
Eventually they return to Naboo and attempt to aprehend the Vice roy of the trade federation whilst also getting rid of the blockade but are interupted by darth maul who kills Qui Gon and asks Obi wan on his dying breath to train anakin thus ending the film.
