yeah, for any competition where fractions of a second matters, PDK for the win definitely. But on the street, I'm still enjoying the manual transmission for the 'driver engagement' factor. :)
Have you driven a PDK in anger? I mean, you have what you like, that is all that matters. But the PDK is possibly the best transmission ever made for a road legal car. It is hardly 'just' an automatic.
yes last year I had a 911 Carrera 4S with the PDK for a few days and it was fantastic. If I had to drive my Cayman in traffic every day I'd definitely prefer the PDK and not feel like I was choosing an 'inferior' option. There are no wrong answers here.
I know the 718 Cayman GTS usually comes with the sportex interior and seats. In order to get the smooth leather interior which options did you choose? I'm ordering a 2025 718 Cayman GTS next week and I don't really like the Race Tech fabric on the seats or the steering wheel, as it gets matted down with your sweat. On the configurator when I chose to substitute the leather steering wheel and seats it made me select the multifunction carbon steering wheel.
yes I chose the leather interior option, when I did that it gave me the option of choosing either the multifunction wheel or the plain leather wheel. I did choose the premium package which included the multifunctional wheel anyways. Then you can go to the Interior options and select the GT Sport steering wheel in leather, if you didn't want the carbon fiber. I'm probably going to let the shop do it... my next annual maintenance is free compliments of Porsche anyways so I'll take it in. If I do anything else like a mod/install I may make a video, but generally I'm an awful mechanic, I tend to break things. :D
I had five Cayman S since 2008, the latest is the 2024 Cayman S. I also have a 2015 Carrera S. I really enjoy the Cayman S more. The Cayman S is lighter and with mid engine configuration so corner handling is much smoother! I try to get the GTR 4.0 but is not able to! 😡🤬. Dealer mark up is 100%! 😂😂😂
