i have done Mt Ham on my bike many times. it's an epic ride. just turned 2k on my 4.0 as well. took 8 months bit it's off to the races now.
Congrats on the break in. Now the car finally becomes fun.
I enjoy your videos. You’re not pretentious and you have a lot of humility. 👍🏻
Thank you, just having fun and hopefully staying authentic!
Beatiful car. Love that 4.0 flat 6. What are you guys using for comms?
I have a set of Retevis walkie talkie radios -- pretty basic but works pretty good for close-in car-to-car comms. Here is a link to a 3-pack of them: amzn.to/3SPWlG7
Did you manage to keep it below 4k the entire 2000 miles or open it up a bit along the way? I’m taking delivery on Thursday. It’s going to be painful staying below 4k for that long!
Is the power just completely different at the top of the rev range?
I didn’t realize Motul makes an oil that’s allowed in these cars. I had read some forum posts about only using the Mobil 1 C40 oil to avoid warranty issues. Is that not the case? I always used Motul XCESS in my 996 turbo and love the company so would prefer to find a Motul oil for my CGTS!
Most Porsche owners probably will raise their self-imposed redline progressively once they pass 500 or 1000 miles. You can go to 5K at 500, 6K at 1000, 7K by 1500, etc. 2000 miles of staying under 4K is indeed painful to get through. And yeah, the power doesn't really come on until you're in the higher revs. Sadly, on the street you don't really get that many opportunities to wring it out up to redline in a safe and legal manner -- you're going to want to head to the track or an autocross to truly experience it properly.
Motul does make a C40 oil, the 8100: static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2023/MC-10232392-0001.pdf
@@86drive86that is an older Porsche bulletin. There is a newer one from September 2023. Motul lost its designation and isn’t approved on the 2023 and 2024 cars. I think the company that used to provide certain additives lost its certification so Porsche does not allow Motul in our engines anymore.
Also - they only allow 0w40 from model year 2021 onward. I mention this just because I wouldn’t want to see you have a warranty issue given your car is on RUclips.

why go to Burlingame for an oil change if. u live in the East Bay? Elite is great though. they have worked on my Alfa
I work on that side of the Bay so Elite is just 10 minutes away from my work. Easy to drop off and pick up my car there. I do have friendly shops in the East bay as well...
cyclists are legally allowed to take the whole lane if there isn't a bike lane
For sure, but I guess it's a matter of etiquette... if they're holding up a bunch of cars by going slowly as they climb, they should move over or make it easier for someone to pass by. Same is true of a slow car on the road too. If they stay in the middle of the lane it's basically saying they won't let you pass or will make it difficult for you to do so.
Why did the turkey cross the road?
to get to the other side?? sorry I don't know any other good answers lol.
Isn't your one year freebie oil change coming up too?
I've still got a ways to go... December. Though maybe I should start thinking about scheduling it, I hear some dealerships have a crazy backlog... how about yours? You better start driving it more!
I'm only up to 1400 miles I think 😂. Yes I need to drive more.
