Not even a voice problem, it’s definitely a performance issue that these clips highlight perfectly. Lily Gao with the right direction could have given the same energy than the mod. A thing the mod does really well too is making Ada’s voice sound so natural and immersive, she’s talking to herself like a real person would, almost soft spoken. They did the same in RE2R during the segment we play as her, very clever. It’s also nice to see you’ve taken feedbacks into account and decided to adjust the lines, thank you for your work as always!! Loved the "see you around big boy" and "smarty pants", everyone gets a nickname hehe

When watching these videos, what needs to be kept in mind is that people interact with people differently depending on their relationship with said person. You interact different to your grandmother than your sibling, you interact differently with your coworker than your neighbor. I know what you’re referring to, and her coldness you’re speaking of is in response to her relationship with Wesker. Ada knows how the chess game is played, she’s not a simple person for hire, she will do whatever’s best for her in order to obtain her main objective.

I haven't touched Separate Ways past the conversation with Louis at 6:25, "that's my joOoob..." was the killshot that made me stop and look for a voice mod in the first place. It was great seeing everyone’s feedback to our RE4 Remake - 12 Minutes of Separate Ways, Ada Wong Voice Mod video. Most importantly the elements you liked, as well as others you did not like. With that in mind, a restoration to some lines have now been implemented, with the addition of others demonstrating Ada’s straight toward charm. The few changes that are now present that were not present in our previous video include Ada’s sense of sarcasm and wit. Just as Mr. Kennedy has his bag of one liners, so does Miss Wong. In any given situation, Ada is to the point with the goal of achieving her objective. For example, in Resident Evil: Damnation, after concluding her fight with President Belikova, Ada says; “So it’s true. You were a former instructor.” a perfectly placed expositional dump line that is delivered with charm and impudence. Note: expositional dump is a term used in script writing to explain something to the audience without having been shown. So with that in mind, we brought it back!
Amazing work imo 5:51 original line is much more connected to the story, I love the lines when characters thinking about each other, it feels real classic resident evil line, "Did luis do this!?" because story always connected with characters and they always care about each other..

I think the VA is good but poorly directed and her voice doesn't seem to fit Ada's body somehow. I get a very strong visual impression from the VA that is at odds with Ada's character model.

I swear i needed this, i wanted to replay the story again cause why not but i forgot how poorly voiced ada was and just not did her side. This mod will make ada waaay better than intended
As always, excellent work in giving her that mix of sensuality, mystery and femme fatale vibe. My only recommendation is that you turn up the volume a little, since her tone is much softer sometimes it is a little difficult to understand what she said.
The game itself is known to not have the best audio mix. On our part we cannot change that as everything has to match in order for the injection to work smoothly and affectively. What I will say though is as mentioned in the beginning of the video, this is captured on the PS5 - so the audio retaining to the voices have been processed through a video editing software, they are not actually injected in the game unlike what you will receive at launch.
I still haven't bought the DLC and I continue to wait patiently until this is up to your liking and complete. Thank you ProMontreal for being really I think the only shining beacon of light for gaming in Montreal. A city home to evil companies like SBI and where a lot of modern AAA game slop is made.

Thank god. It's a shame the remake released with an unresolved voice issue with Ada making her sound so awful. I guess the audio files got corrupted on release or something and capcom couldn't figure out what caused it. Leave it to modders to fix whats broken. 👍

Her main job is an on screen actor, but a voice actor. Those are two vastly different jobs. It’s challenging for most on screen actors to transition to a recording booth. Take for example the cast of the early 2000’s Fantastic Four. Wesker’s voice was recorded almost a year ago. We’ve just held it off to go alongside Ada. Seems fans don’t really care as much with Wesker in comparison to Ada. Our downloads for our previous Wesker mod were low in comparison to Ada’s.
No. There will be one version. Our version. We will not be making two versions. Our version comes with our writing, the base game comes with the base script.
An argument could be made the only reason you are aware of the difference in the script is because you are seeing a side by side comparison. If a video was released that didn’t compare the writing, you probably wouldn’t notice it as much.
It’s something we’re considering, but can’t be 100% transparent about as we do not speak said language so when it comes to replacing them it may be challenging as the text we are looking at aren’t in our native language. It would be like looking at a book of ancient texts and assuming what it says. But we are taking a look into it, but will be one of the last things we do regarding the entire mods package
As I’m writing this response I’m finishing up a 2.0 Version of the Ada Wong Voice Replacement Mod for the base game. The plan is to release this before Separate Ways in order for fans to get a taste for what’s to come when they’re finally able to get their hands on our Separate Ways Voice Mod. In addition, on the technical side of things, they will be a delay on the Separate Ways Voice Mod. The reason for this is that there are just a small few audio files that aren’t decrypted yet that need extracting from the game.
That all depends if we’re able to locate and track down the files. Once that’s done the final preparations can commence. I sent the final audio files ago. They get minor tweaks and then become injected in the game. We’ll test it. See how the gameplay and cutscenes are working together. Once we’re happy it’ll be released. Stay tuned!

I much prefer the original one, the actress has a pretty unique voice tone which I find quite comforting and makes the character feel like an actual person rather than a overly seductive stereotype
I think it’s a little ironic for someone like you to say the character sounds “over seductive” when that is part of her character trait in order to get what she wants. She’s like that with men, she’s like that with women. What’s dangerous is you following a narrative another person has set in order to justify their actions in taking Ada in a different direction. She knew who Ada was. She auditioned for Ada, in addition getting another offer to play the role in the video game. You cannot self insert your own believes of what you want the character to be, especially to a company who creative the character you’re complaining about. Strip away color, Ada is pretty much identical to Selina Kyle (Catwoman) yet… I don’t hear anyone complaining about her being an overly seductive character. Keep in mind, Capcom created this character, a Japanese company - and now you have an actress telling you you’re leaning into the stereotype of how Asian women are depicted. Again, she auditioned. And the only reason why you want to use the “overly sexualised” card is because the actress used it. If I was Capcom, I’d never allow any actor to actress to self insert their believes on what they want to character to be, its self entitlement. You’re here to perform as the character we created. You’re not here to make the character to best fit your own personal. Now if you like the original voice, that’s fine. No one’s forcing you to play the mod version, but I do wonder why a person would click on a video knowing the content in question to the video. The title is very self explanatory.
