The goal of the Mod is to not only restore a familiar voice fans admire, but also implement more impactful lines that add to the narrative of the story being told. In terms of the Mod itself, we are still working on it. We are over halfway done now so we should be testing the final in-game version within a month or two. We are all very aware of how long we have been working on this, but keep in mind everything seems simple unless you are doing the work yourself. In the Damnation movie, she was shown to be the one that hold the bargaining chip (the advanced plaga) at the end and was negotiating against her own contractor and demand something from them in return. That's the Ada i love and i'm glad they brought that trait of hers back

Hearing this voice puts a different tone to her and Leon's interactions too. Didn't realize how much re4r Ada seemed like a new character. Their first confrontation would pull at heartstrings a lot more if it were her re2 voice and would literally be ghost-like. Glad to hear her cockiness come out when she's dealing with Wesker. Her internal dialogue is a bit more sensitive than I'd expect but i appreciate the contrast between what she shows to the world and how she actually thinks.

Asides from perfect suitable voice for Ada but the new writing brings out Ada personality out much more, you see how professional and playful she is also some vulnerable parts of her character(the last time we saw was in RE6 when she unloaded all the mag at secret lab). Great job you guys!!!
Man, using RE2R voice not only sounds majestic, it fixed the one issue i always had with RE4R, the continuity felt a bit off when there's a voice recast.
Completely agree, Leon was the perfect continuation from RE2R yet Ada was a completely different person altogether. A blemish on an otherwise masterpiece of a game!

Great job, really it's incredible. The Voice mod really feels like the real Ada. Maybe I'm wrong but the tone and dialogue remind me a lot of Ada from Resident Evil 6, where a tone and dialogue are mixed that present Ada as someone mysterious but at the same time sensual and with a Femme fatale vibe. You are doing an excellent job, I just wish the consoles also had mods since my computer can't run the game.
I know, it’s a shame that mods aren’t available for consoles. I think one day we’re all going to move to PC. I’m fairly new to the mod community myself, and it’s incredible the amount of talent people can showcase for their fan favourite games. Which not only is impressive. It just makes the gameplay experience that more exciting the second time around!
That’s definitely I pipe dream request. Leon has thousands of lines and since it’s taken us almost a year to do Ada’s voice for Separate Ways… it would just consume our lives. It’s not so simple as copy, replace, and paste
The only thing I would’ve kept here is the phrase “burning flesh… I thought I left that life behind” because of the potential background info it can add to Ada… but the voice…. Yeah changed… I don’t hate the RE4 re voice because I get they tried to make her sounds focused and on mission… but I dislike it because the RE2 remake had her in a similar context, on the job and still sounding pro but more likable, and more expressive, even despite the whole context of being a mercenary Perhaps it’s because she is older here but still she sounded mature in RE2 re.
I love that you use the previous VA from RE2R, Jolene Andersen ❤ Her voice suits so much better for Ada. Husky and aloof yet so seductive and warm. I've been using your mods since they were released, and I understand that the work you're trying to do is incredibly, nightmarishly hard. I've personally done some non-voice modding, but even a simple retexture is a pain. I personally tried to get Allison's voice back for Claire in RE2, but when I looked at the files that contained the voice in the Wwise editor... I was shocked to find that I needed to replace over a thousand files stored inside, and that I needed to replace all the voices scattered throughout the directory, so I had to stop. So I understand that the work you're trying to do is enormous. Your attempt to replace Ada's voice must also require replacing an incredible number of files, and I understand that creating a voice with AI is not as easy as people think. I believe that you are true Ada and RE fans, working on this for the fans who love Ada. Your mod will be a legendary work that everyone will praise.
I clicked on this thinking it was another one of those tacky AI voice mods, with people 'praising' it for being 'better' Despite Lily's version growing on me, I was surprised with the amazing VA work you guys did and the revised dialogue was just THE cherry on top. Can't wait for the full thing!

Anxiously awaiting this. Sounds SO much better than the lifeless, disinterested dialogue from before. Plus, it's a great excuse to play this otherwise fantastic DLC again. Like the first voice mod, this will become a canon, must-install mod for me once it's released.
Appreciate it. We get that Ada is meant to have a mature beauty to her, but the casting department skipped past "mature" and straight into "wine aunt" - too flat in both tone and script, sounding both unbothered by everything and like everything is just a bother. The revoice restores that cool, playful cat burglar attitude missing from the original, that smooth charisma to tug you over on the leash, while still _juuuuust_ that little hint that maybe, _maybe_ she does care after all.
To be fair, Lily Gao herself has suggested the most important part of her casting as Ada was that she and Ada share an ethnicity. Capcom's primary hiring goal for VAs back in 1996 was to cast people who vaguely looked like the characters, too, and it worked out the same way both times.

Really great mod, will be looking forward to the full one. I will say that while I like the lines you put here for the mod, I do think the lines in the game itself are great on its own. The lines, you could tell that she's starting to have doubts about what she's doing until it leads to the end scene where she doesn't give Wesker the Amber.
This is glorious, but did you really need to change every line? The "Hurry on to church now. You don't wanna be late." is a deliciously sarcastic Ada remark that you made worse. I implore you to reconsider which lines you change, because though there are some real stinkers, there are some good ones, too. Still super excited and will definitely do a new playthrough when the mod is out!

Man I feel back for the re4r actress because admittedly she does have a few good line but gd this ai edit sounds so much better all around. This will 100% get me back on the game doing runs again especially if you get a redub for both the dlc and main game because the Leon and ada scenes are some of the weakest points in the game

this is so good that it feels like you guys went to a parallel earth where they rehired her VA Jolene Andersen from Re2 Remake instead of hiring Lily Gao to get this audio. although my If I have to give some criticism Ada seems to swear alot more than she usually does so maybe tone it down to stay in character in my opinion.
Woah, this is incredible! I might get the game for PC just to play this mod! Small gripe, some of the line changes are a little unnecessary in my opinion - eg, “what a warm welcome” was more than fine to keep. Other than that, brilliant work! Keep it up!

I'm excited to see what you guys did with the reunion scene bc man was that scene ROUGH both in VA and in dialogue lol The only nitpick if I HAD to would be I think Ada's sassiness and blasé sarcasm can be turned up even higher. I know she's written totally different compared to OG RE4 so her reaction to Luis not being where he's suppose to changed but I always loved her response in the OG game being "Luis Serra...and I thought I was high maintenance". But overall you can tell Capcom hired a completely new writer bc she doesn't even have half the sass she had in RE2make (that or Lily Gao just fails to deliver it), no moments like when you play as Leon and take too long to open the parking garage she's all, "we might want to open the shutter....", take even longer then it's "open the damn shutter already!" Again, just a nitpick, whatever you deliver is greatly appreciated 😁

I already love the remake dlc, but that’s despite Lily Gao and not because of her. I refuse to believe that the one who was in charge said that Ada should sound like a robot who is dead inside. After her immediate rant about racism when people only criticized her voice acting, wouldn’t surprise me if that was how she acted in the studio too, so they just let her do her thing. It’s really like Ada has no soul in RE4 because Lily just looked at the paper and read them with a voice that would only be okay in a scene where Ada woke up 2 minutes ago. Which is a shame because her voice its not the issue, its the way she refuses to use it well. This mod makes it way better.
The voice in the original doesn't sound realistic enough for the remake while the remake's voice doesn't fit Ada and she sounds bored. This is perfect and i will definitely download the mod if it does get released

Great idea for a mod, and I love some of the line changes too. The modded voice sounds great, but seeing how this is posted as not final, the only nitpick I have is that ada's voice sometimes doesn't feel like it's actually "in the scene", you know? Some of the lines feel like she's recording from a booth, and it kinda takes me out of the experience. Audio mixing, among other things can absolutely fix that though. Also this video is 3 weeks old so there's a chance you already fixed those things in the meantime. Cheers and my best wishes for you and the mod itself :)
I imagine they probably don't have anyone on the team dedicated to audio mixing, since its just a fan project. I would hope they can at least bump up the gain slightly, as it got hard to hear her at times in the video (unless that was just the editing of the video keeping her quiet).
That has to do with the core audio levels and nothing more. In order to create an audio mod, everything has to match perfectly: the audio level and the duration. The RE Engine also has its own built in sound effects depending which location you are in. In older games this method would have been already post processed upon the games release. So in terms of audio mixing, there is not much that can be done. I would like to note, depending where you watched this video could affect your experience. For example TV and PC’s tend to manipulate audio quite a bit depending on your audio setting e.g. Cinema Mode, Sports Mode, Game Mode etc.
I had to get used to the new voice of Ada and by the time i played Separate ways, I really enjoyed it and of course Ada as a character However I really like the added lines here.

We get that Ada is meant to have a mature beauty to her, but the casting department skipped past "mature" and straight into "wine aunt" - too flat in both tone and script, sounding both unbothered by everything and like everything is just a bother. The revoice restores that cool, playful cat burglar attitude missing from the original, that smooth charisma to tug you over on the leash, while still _juuuuust_ that little hint that maybe, _maybe_ she does care after all.
To be fair, Lily Gao herself has suggested the most important part of her casting as Ada was that she and Ada share an ethnicity.
Capcom's primary hiring goal for VAs back in 1996 was to cast people who vaguely looked like the characters, too, and it worked out the same way both times.

Really great mod, will be looking forward to the full one. I will say that while I like the lines you put here for the mod, I do think the lines in the game itself are great on its own. The lines, you could tell that she's starting to have doubts about what she's doing until it leads to the end scene where she doesn't give Wesker the Amber.

This is glorious, but did you really need to change every line? The "Hurry on to church now. You don't wanna be late." is a deliciously sarcastic Ada remark that you made worse. I implore you to reconsider which lines you change, because though there are some real stinkers, there are some good ones, too. Still super excited and will definitely do a new playthrough when the mod is out!
Agreed, like "In truth I don't know yet" like the original line was bad but seriously some of these need to be redone I do like a fair chunk of the new ones tho

I don't think she'd say "fuck" either tbh. Honestly "Damn, I knew he'd be trouble" would suit that line better.

Man I feel back for the re4r actress because admittedly she does have a few good line but gd this ai edit sounds so much better all around.
This will 100% get me back on the game doing runs again especially if you get a redub for both the dlc and main game because the Leon and ada scenes are some of the weakest points in the game

This is fantastic, Im too excited for your mod, just a little feedback 9:30 when she said: "f*ck I knew he would be a problem" I felt she sound nervous, irritable, I think she is stable strong minded not fast to be worried.
Disagree, I like that she keeps her composer on the radio with Wesker, but shows some more humanity when it's just her.

this is so good that it feels like you guys went to a parallel earth where they rehired her VA Jolene Andersen from Re2 Remake instead of hiring Lily Gao to get this audio. although my If I have to give some criticism Ada seems to swear alot more than she usually does so maybe tone it down to stay in character in my opinion.

Small gripe, some of the line changes are a little unnecessary in my opinion - eg, “what a warm welcome” was more than fine to keep. Other than that, brilliant work! Keep it up!

The only nitpick if I HAD to would be I think Ada's sassiness and blasé sarcasm can be turned up even higher. I know she's written totally different compared to OG RE4 so her reaction to Luis not being where he's suppose to changed but I always loved her response in the OG game being "Luis Serra...and I thought I was high maintenance". But overall you can tell Capcom hired a completely new writer bc she doesn't even have half the sass she had in RE2make (that or Lily Gao just fails to deliver it), no moments like when you play as Leon and take too long to open the parking garage she's all, "we might want to open the shutter....", take even longer then it's "open the damn shutter already!" Again, just a nitpick, whatever you deliver is greatly appreciated 😁

I bought the Ada dlc yesterday and I'm playing in my language (Brazilian). When the mod is released I'll play in English.
I already love the remake dlc, but that’s despite Lily Gao and not because of her. I refuse to believe that the one who was in charge said that Ada should sound like a robot who is dead inside. After her immediate rant about racism when people only criticized her voice acting, wouldn’t surprise me if that was how she acted in the studio too, so they just let her do her thing. It’s really like Ada has no soul in RE4 because Lily just looked at the paper and read them with a voice that would only be okay in a scene where Ada woke up 2 minutes ago. Which is a shame because her voice its not the issue, its the way she refuses to use it well. This mod makes it way better.

Man,this looks awesome! I'm brazilian so i played the game in brazilian portuguese,and i LOVED Ada's brazilian portuguese voice,but i understand the why you all doesn't liked the english voice acting,the RE2 Ada is a lot better and the RE6 Ada's voice still my favorite one (of the english voices)

Great idea for a mod, and I love some of the line changes too.
The modded voice sounds great, but seeing how this is posted as not final, the only nitpick I have is that ada's voice sometimes doesn't feel like it's actually "in the scene", you know?
Some of the lines feel like she's recording from a booth, and it kinda takes me out of the experience.
Audio mixing, among other things can absolutely fix that though.
Also this video is 3 weeks old so there's a chance you already fixed those things in the meantime.

I imagine they probably don't have anyone on the team dedicated to audio mixing, since its just a fan project. I would hope they can at least bump up the gain slightly, as it got hard to hear her at times in the video (unless that was just the editing of the video keeping her quiet).
Yes, with the feedback given there have been alternation.
That has to do with the core audio levels and nothing more. In order to create an audio mod, everything has to match perfectly: the audio level and the duration. The RE Engine also has its own built in sound effects depending which location you are in. In older games this method would have been already post processed upon the games release. So in terms of audio mixing, there is not much that can be done. I would like to note, depending where you watched this video could affect your experience. For example TV and PC’s tend to manipulate audio quite a bit depending on your audio setting e.g. Cinema Mode, Sports Mode, Game Mode etc.

That was our goal. To capture the essence of the last time you saw Ada - with the hope of being true to the characters reimagined version.
