"Undercover" is awesome--cool, sexy, but natural. Sounds a lot like Jolene Andersen's delivery! (The RE2R Ada).

I personally believe it was due to the fact that RE2’s Remake voice actress transitioned into being a SAG member after RE2 Remake - making her not longer an option for them, as. Capcom is quite publicly known for not working with SAG members.
@@ProMontreal Not to mention, Lily Gao is not a voice actress since they chose her because she was in that bad Resident Evil movie no one watches for RE4 remake.
@@vitoldwisniewski Maybe you do not know but this game's development delayed 1 year due to controversial launch of RE3 R. Huge cuts were made from that game, because its been outsourced, and that disappointed many fans. RE4R was also firstly outsourced but was taken over by the A team and Capcom was too careful on this masterpiece.
Capcom was not stupid to give Ada's role to a mere amateur. I believe Lily did her best but as fans we were not get used to this approach. (which lead idiots sending death threats to the actress herself).
Also, tell me a good Resident Evil Movie / CGI.
@@erdalatagul7699 I know about all that, it's just that I don't hate lily gao as some people do but when i first heard her as Ada Wong, she sounded so uninteresting and flat in her emotions as if she didn't give a damn what she was doing which lead hateful comments to the actress herself. 🤷♂ I mean it's like she was just reading the script without so much of a personality to the role she was playing because she came across as stiff and emotionless in this. I haven't heard this sort of thing since Omni Productions did the worst take on Dubbing The Transformers for the English language. And trust me, their bad voice acting is on par with Lily Gao.

Undercover Ada is definitely my favourite 💕 Reminds me of Jolene Andersen's voice (RE2R). Technically RE3R brought me into the RE universe but RE2R sealed the deal for me. Both Nick's performance as a young, idealistic and naive Leon and Jolene's performance as an aloof and sultry sounding Ada just work for me. I love the energy between those two 💥 The cutscene where Leon dresses Ada's wound is my favourite (besides the kiss cutscene of course) because finally the facade of Ada the ice queen melts away and for the first time in the game she shows her vulnerability. That's why RE2R will always have a special place in my heart ❤
Dress sounds more like the re6 ada, but undercover sounds the best by far.

Notice how there's none of these mods for Luis? His VA just does a fantastic job. Anyways, I think that Undercover Ada voice nails it the best - more serious to fit the Remake tone, but doesn't stray far at all from feeling like Ada. I'll definitely pick that up when it's available.

@@ProMontreal I'm not fond of Courtenay Taylor's voice for this version of Ada she's not supposed to sound so sexy, but I get why people are in love with this iteration of the character.
Jolene was perfect in 2R because of how mysterious and normal she made Ada sounds without being a caricature of herself. Lily Gao removed all kind of emotions in the lines delivery and straight up sounds bland, there are a few lines she nailed though, but not enough.
So yeah the Undercover version connects with me much more, this is the remake Ada we should have had after RE2R!
The Luis va is great, which makes Ada somehow seem even worse since they talk to each other a lot of the dlc and the difference in quality is more noticeable.

You guys are a life saver. I have nothing against the actress as a person but her performance is so bad. I can ignore it in the main game because you dont see her often but having her as the main character in seperate ways is unbearable
I couldn’t agree more. I personally too do not have any bad intentions towards RE4 Remakes Ada. The mods provided are simple optional versions.

i am sorry, but her voice is so bad for the character. Her voice does no resembles Ada's personality. Atleast the Dress Voice Mod comes best close to Ada personality along with undercover one as well.
It definitely is an interesting approach Capcom has chosen given the fact that Ada had a recognisable voice throughout the years. Having said that, for the powers that be, RE2 Remake or any previous voice actress did not reprise their role for Ada, we have to respect that, it’s their intellectual property, but mods like this one are an option for a different take.

I had mixed feelings about this , on one hand I’m glad this existed to save us from that horrendous voice acting in the game , on the other hand this just proves AI can do a better job than humans and soon..the big corps won’t be needing voice actors anymore , AI technology is truly magnificent and frightening at the same time.
If they didn’t want this to happen they should’ve just rehired the voice actress from the re2 remake
On the flip side imagine the sheer potential of fully dynamic voice mods
- Low health, you can literally hear the fear and tension with things like subtle voice cracks
- The game notices that certain enemies are giving you a hard time, the main character can sound more angry when said enemy appears
- Or straight up full blown AI conversations, you can learn about the games lore and backstory by just asking "Hey Ada what happened back in Racoon City"
So the reason behind RE2’s Ada not returning is that she is now a SAG member since the Remakes, Capcom does not associate themselves with SAG numbers. That’s why I believe she didn’t return - absolutely nothing to do with ethnicity, simply pay in essence
To be fair, the bar is set very, very low. The original voice for RE4R Ada either got bad direction or was just really bad. So while in this case, an AI did a better job than a human, if the RE2R actress did the voice, it'd likely be better than the AI version. Though that doesn't take away the fact that AI is advancing rapidly and it's scary how human it sounds.
Dress version for me. Gives me the most Sally Cahill vibes (my fave Ada actress). I get the love for the Re2make actress but Sally Cahill was just perfect. Also, the Wesker voice, holy shit. Feels so much like Richard Waugh. Promising stuff! Looking forward to it!!
So I'm guessing Undercover is supposed to sound like her RE2R voice actress who's voice is the Dress one supposed to modeled after?

Currently there is no release window for the undercover mod. In order for this to happen a programmer needs to decode the code of the game first in order for anyone to access and mod anything to do with the game

It’s going to take some time, some lines have already been recorded, still waiting on a few voice actors to get back to me, and we still are waiting to get access to the audio files from the name as all Resident Evil 4 Remake files. Once all that is complete and polished it’ll be out. Not so straight forward as one may think. In addition we have to test everything and do our own play through to see if everything it up to high standard

I really should have waited for the voice-mod. Lily GAO's performance was so jarring and it took me out of the immersion every time her mouth opened.

This is a preview, hasn't come out yet. The one they have up is for base game Ada
Pre-Mod so it has yet to be released for the public. The other mods is for leon's campaign.
It still hasn't been updated yet as they(modders) need to do some of the works before the voice can be applied in game.
given this takes place after re2 remake, i much prefer the re2 ada voice, i love Courtenay Taylor as Ada, she is my favorite voice actress for her, however, RE2R makes more sense given its taking place after re2r. The voice also just fits the design more.
Jolene Andersen is the best Ada's VA.
i followed the instructions for the seperate ways dlc fix, but its still not working idk what to do to make this mod work

If all things pan out well, yes. But at this stage everything is very experimental, considering Ada does get hurt a lot more in Separate Ways in comparison to the main campaign. We want to provide the best version we can, and if we cannot meet our own standards, we won’t be releasing it. But so far I’ve started lines with Dress Ada and she’s preforming very well thus far. I’m currently on Chapter 2 in terms of in game audio

If you type in Ada Wong Voice Mod on your search engine, a Nexus Mods link will be one of the first pages shown. From there you're able to download it and add it as a mod. Note: this version you are seeing was just a test run. The only mod currently available at this time (July, 2024) is for the base game and not Separate Ways.

No what it’s showing you is different voice mods that are a possibility. The alternate outfits are a play on the voices and their respected RE games

Undercover Ada definitely sounds the best so far.
re4's Ada voice actress claims that she is criticized for her racial characteristics, but that is precisely incorrect. I am not interested in her race, ideology, or political leanings. Even if she has green skin, it doesn't matter as long as her acting skills are good. The reason I don't like her voice is because of her lack of acting skills and her voice doesn't suit the character she plays.
Undercover's voice is the best. I'm waiting for the mod to be released.

Amazing video, I was glad to hear Ada's phrases in Courtney's voice. Of all Ada's voices, I always love Courtney Taylor's voice the most. I’m so glad you’re exited for this project! That means a lot. In addition to your question, I have personally been working on the Undercover version for a while now but needed addition time in order for it the quality of the voice to be on the same level as the first initial Ada Voice Mod. It’ll still be a little while away until the Undercover version will be available for download on Nexus, but in the meantime stay tuned for further updates and announcements for what’s to come down the pipeline

Dress sounds more like OG RE4 Ada. Undercover sounds older than her model and more monotone.
Both are improvement on Default though, great job! refuse to play the dlc without this mod.

FUCKING HELL, the Undercover voice is absolute perfection. Jolene Anderson should have came back 100%. Is the mod out now and how does it work. Are the voices tied to the outfits or can you choose one voice for all outfits?
The mod is still being worked on. When it comes to the outfits, it’s simple a way to demonstrate the different versions - the outfits are unlockable upon completing the campaign of Separate Ways

It’ll be a while, no specific time at this point but the files still need to be decrypted and because audio isn’t the most important thing for modders to decrypt, it may be one of the last things they decrypt and release to fellow modders

New Wesker fits with the less cartonish approach of the remakes, Ada however, NEEDS a voice replacer, her voice actress sounds like she didn´t want to be there at the booth recording, and the dlc suffers for this (only I would say) mistake.

i expected the voice be somewhat robotic, but this is amazing. how far the technology went.
maybe it lacks some small nuances in inflections, but it's amazing what has been achieved.

When does it come out?
Hey Subscriber! I'm not going to give a date on when it will come out at the time, but I can say that in terms of the in-game dialogue, I'm around 40% complete with Ada's dialogue. These are little things Ada says such as "That's where I need to go," or "I wonder what that is?." Once these are completed I will send them off to Destructo so he can inject them into the game and test if the game will accept the files etc. It's a tricky process on his end. In addition, cutscenes need to be dubbed. So don't worry we are very much still working on the project, but at times we do have our own personal lives and jobs to handle at the same time. We appreciate your patience and hope to have it with you as soon as we can.
If I wanted to send you my voice clips I did for Wesker, could you also make a voice mod pack for him?
They already have one voice pack for him, so they would only need to put your voice files in the place of old ones. Contant them.
