Thank you all for the comments! Money is a difficult subject to cover as it brings out lots of irrelevant opinions of how one should live their life. But we know it helps many plan for their next life, so that’s why we share. Here’s some answers to the most popular questions: Boat Loan - We paid for and we own our boat. We do not have a loan and that is why you don’t see that in our budget. We did however have to pull a temporary loan from my life insurance policy and we talk about it here (I think, if not it’s somewhere in our buying a catamaran series): ruclips.net/video/OYZPx4sL5sk/видео.html Cats - We told the story of our sailing cats here: ruclips.net/video/lj-e_dJrGDg/видео.html Singa - Mr. Singa is in LOVE. He has a new girlfriend on the ranch named Linda. You can see him on Instagram @talesfromthemutiny He is happier than ever running around in the high desert of CO with a bunch of barnyard animals to keep him entertained. It warms my heart to know we’re locked up in an apartment but he’s running around a farm! We love and miss that cat everyday. PIP - Pip the cat is full on kitten now and healthy as can be. We’re doing an update video on her this week or next. She is a ball of energy! Beach Dog - HA! We did not adopt “RED” the beach dog. She likes to walk with us and decided to make her RUclips debut for our money chat. Savings Plan - We are putting away money into retirement accounts, but we don’t feel like that makes sense to include in a sailing budget because everyone will have different rainy-day and retirement funds. Several questions about making money, perhaps we will consider sharing resources on how to work remotely. TAXES - YES, we pay tax in the USA. Its way too complicated for me to understand let alone share. We pay personal tax and corporate tax. Seems like Healthcare and Boat insurance is a much wanted topic…so we’ll start to wrap our heads around that vid…that subject deserves a 😍 and a 😢. Insurance is great but it really hurts at the same time. We said it twice in the vid but here is goes again: YOU CAN LIVE THIS LIFE ON ANY BUDGET. If you can live on $5 per day then great for you, go do it and leave your comments to yourself. OK, Last time I’m going to say that.
I appreciate your sharing your budget. I wouldn't want to discuss my personal financing on RUclips but I understand why you do it. With that said, I think you both are amazing and a total inspiration. I like to think at some point in my life, I will get the chance to go tramping by sea or land. It's fascinating to see how you do it and to learn from your experience. As a fellow cat person, (Tango & Sadie), I also know how tough it is to lose a cat.
Great vid. Even though you’re not sailing you both manage to provide fantastic, entertaining and knowledgeable content. This one is no exception. Are you able to now cover how to work remotely? My husband and I are planning to still work while living aboard. Just not should what the best fit would be. My husbands fine he’s a mechanical engineer and has worked as a boat builder, but I’m scratching my head as to what I can do.
Gone with the Wynns hers an idea. In the next vid show us More of Red, labs are great friendly dogs. Maybe even do a Pip and Red special lol. Hope that you guys get back to your home soon so that you can get back to near normal.
The impressive part of this video is all the decisions they had to make in this lifestyle. Most couples wouldn’t survive the never ending changes required to stay on this journey. You two are intelligent and flexible an I enjoy watching you adjust to what life my bring you. Best of adventures let’s hope you get back on the cat soon. Namaste
For your next Q & A: how does living on a boat affect being an extrovert or introvert? For an extrovert, how do you deal with the isolation? As an introvert, how do you handle always being in new locations and meeting strangers?
Seeing you sitting there breaking down all the costs reminded me of virtually the same scene right after you bought curiosity when you sat in the grass and broke down the costs associated with that whole process (more beach in the background this time and less airplane noise, but otherwise a time warp moment). You've come a long way since then...literally and figuratively!! You were always bright, informative, classy and well-spoken, but now with the years of sailing, you've seen things and places the RV could never have shown you! In that process, you've also become mentors and heroes to those of us who hope to share this lifestyle someday!! It's really been a pleasure and quite the education!! Thanks so much for taking us along! (And I hope you find your way back to Curiosity very soon!)
Can’t believe I have been planning for 4 + years. Takes a long time to unwind myself from current situation. Lots of financial and relationship implications..
I feel ya, Kirk!! (even way longer than 4 yrs for me, unfortunately!) We're all in the same boat...planning the one we want to buy but still landlocked and watching from afar! Hopefully one of these days the strings will be cut, the anchors will be pulled, the sails will be full and our adventures will begin! ⛵️ Hang in there! Happy dreaming/planning/saving!! 😄
Thanks guys. You have convinced me that my wife and I can live on our roughly $2,800 per month of Social Security in a motor home and that's not anywhere close to all of our income. You guys are awesome and perk me up every Sunday morning. Stay safe and I hope you get back to Curiosity soon.
We also full time RV. We have found that it is very afordable and a great way to see things. These two convenced me to sell my boat and get an RV. Then they went and got a boat.....lol
hey! we've been living on our 58-foot catamaran with no experience and our insurance was $16,000 USD the first year and $12,000 USD --- it really depends on where you plan to cruise... Florida is expensive during hurricane season. and, if you head to Panama, more expensive... etc etc.
With ourselves living Canada, health coverage is basically covered for us all via our taxes, but what would the cost be for a 'couple' in the USA? Many are trying to get dental coverage included in our health coverage, but who knows if that will ever happen....but whether you have a ton of money, or homeless here, all have health insurance coverage. I don't remember you mentioning 'dental' coverage, so perhaps you could expand on that?
@@dalewatkins9889 please don’t give the general public the idea that health insurance is free here in Canada. Working class people can pay $200/month for a family of 4. An ambulance ride can cost $300 if you don’t have coverage. Dental is out of your own pocket unless you are on social assistance. I know this from experience. Not everyone has everything covered.
@@dalewatkins9889 Medical and pharmacy insurance in the USA is based on whether your employee contributes money to your insurance, what state you live in, and your income. Good insurance Runs about $800/month per person or higher. Not good insurance is about half that. In California, depending on your income, the state will contribute to your insurance cost to lower that price to something reasonable. Dental and vision are usually a separate insurance, and I’m not sure what it is, maybe something like $80/month for both. Without insurance, a single ambulance ride is something like $1600. Appendix removal and two nights in the hospital is something around $30,000-$40,000.
Thanks for the info. Out of all the sailing channels" budget videos", this was the least discouraging on cost, especially when you say it's possible on any budget. An episode on insurance could be interesting, especially the way you describe it's complexities.
My statement in the beginning: "We've sailed by $5000 boats and $50,000,000" was not an exaggeration. We've seen all types of boats on all budgets out here. It is possible!
I've been following you for years. We even camped at Topsail Hill Preserve with you back in January of 2014 I think. We were there with an Airstream get together and I think you guys were just starting your Florida tour. I always regret not having stopped by to meet you. I've met other RUclips travelers and they tell me that they value their privacy. When we were traveling full-time in our Airstream trailer, I can remember how little we spent. Some months less than $1000 easily. The key is to boondock or wild camp for free. The experience is better than staying in RV parks and much cheaper. Anyway, I hope you get back to your boat ASAP, I know this must be wearing on you.
I think you're more open and honest than a lot of other You-tuber's, bloggers who've gone off grid. Be it on a sail boat or a log cabin. A lot of people dream of going off grid but have no idea what's involved. From knowledge to be acquired to start up costs. The same can be said in starting a business. A lot of people jump before they look and than wonder why they're face down in the dirt or on their backside. You showed us the process from beginning to now. Your failures and successes. We might/ might not follow in your footsteps but have a better understanding of the journey and therefore enjoy it that much more.
Please do a video on insurance...no holds barred on it. Also please do a video on the immigration topic. Everything from the flags to use the finding of the info by whatever means(internet, vhf radio...etc). I would love to see everything from when you get to a certain mile marker away from shore (if that matters) to the phone/vhf radio calls/phone calls to whoever it is. Explain the process as if your talking to someone that has absolutely no idea and never has done it before. LOVE Y'ALL!!!!!!!
I like the timeline break down in this video. I can hover over it, find out what that portion's subject is and click on it. That's a fantastic feature!
Seven countries? I’m glad you showed the world Niue and the Cook Islands, not many people go there or know about those two places. Going there really exposed a new audience to the the beauty and wonders of those places. They got the recognition they deserved
This was so helpful! For those if us dreaming of that type of lifestyle with freedom to roam and decide what to do today. I admire that you are still smiling at each other! Stay safe and happy!
When you finally get back, I would love to know how much extra the pandemic cost you guys. I know it has been hard for you two. I am glad to see you both smiling :)
Sunday fun-day! Two of my favourite RUclips channels upload today (yours guys being one of them of course) and I admire your positivity towards this subject. Most other Sailing channels give broad statements about how you "Can't expect to spend less than X thousand dollars per year" and can be very discouraging. I love you guys even more for this. It's a rainy afternoon here in Kenya but this brightened it up a bit, thank you! 😊
Good to see you both. After watching that, I felt a little “tipsy” and donated to the cause. Not sure what you see or don’t see on your end but wanted to say thank you. You both be safe. See you soon.
I'm wondering what portion of the boat maintenance is related to having internal combustion engines rather than electric engines? So what did you spend on the starter, the fuel pump, alternator, oil, X cetera. If I were to outfit with electric engines I would still have a generator so I would still have the fuel tanks.. Converting a boat over to electric engines would be expensive but I could offset that by selling the diesels and maybe recoup the rest over time by saving maintenance.
Your comment about the cost of health insurance worldwide (excluding the USA) is spot on. We had worldwide insurance for a year and the add-on cost to have coverage in the US for 2 weeks was nearly the annual price without US coverage. Crazy expensive. We're also curious about how boat life affects introverted vs extroverted people.
I was watching a documentary about humans and dogs. Apparently, we have been cohabitating and evolving together so long that humans actually get a positive biological response(increase in oxytocin I think) from interaction with dogs. Not wolves or cats..just dogs. I thought that was fascinating.
I am a new subscriber. Omg! I'm so excited I found you guys on RUclips. I don't know how young you are but you're beautiful both of you. You are so kind to let us live our life through you. I'm 68 years old and in poor health so watching your videos takes me back to my younger years and all the things I wished I would have done and didn't do. I'm now doing through you. So thank you.
that's good you have a health care plan that covers everywhere but the USA you both look very healthy to me. Lovely beach chat, thanks so much, and take care, sending love from Canada!
I RV. My camper came on a 2006 Ford 450 truck. One of the best worst trucks there is. Great when they work but they have a big 3 ptoblem. The big 3 being the EGR cooler, FICM, and turbo failures. There is no IF in the failure of these 3 systems, it's entirely a when. EGR (exhaust gas recirculator) is a $10,000 repair in California(you can delete a lot of the stuff stuff (and the expense)in states that don't have the same emission standards. The FICM (fuel injector control module) will fry if your battery isn't producing enough voltage. It can test good, but not be consistantly high enough. A couple grand to have replaced. The turbo. This one can vary greatly depending on how you maintain and drive your truck. If you're not doing scheduled fluid changes and tune ups, you're asking for it. You also have to "work out" your turbo. When it's warmed up, taking the turbo gauge through it's range almost to redline. If you do this determines how much you will spend when it blows. If you work it out you'll blow the boot and get off easy. If you don't you'll have a catastophic failure begining at $1,000 in parts only and ending at grenading your engine. Degrees of rebuild or total replacement. One of the problems is, tge f450 doesn't like short trips. No diesel does. The engine needs to be worked hard regularly. If you're not maintaining it, that workout will kill it. Land or sea, you've got to maintain the vessel.
Great video guys, your presentation skills are right up there with the best, and your ability to deliver detailed information is excellent. You actually made financial information interesting, and that takes some doing. Hope to see you back on your boat soon.
I love how the dog keeps photobombing your video. He obviously loves being around you. Great video guys. Very informative but you left out one category that is priceless and that’s the awesome experiences you are having and generously sharing with us. ❤️🤗 Thank you
Nikki & Jason...you guys probably have the best sailing vlog on RUclips ! There are many out there but none can match you ! Waiting to sail with you after the lockdown😊
Wow, I remember your RV life. I didn't know You swapped over to boats. You guys gave me a lot of insight when I started my RV adventures. I am now looking to move offshore, too.
Well, its payed off for experience and travel that you passed in last few years. And for real--its a dream-travel-adveture-enjoying-bonding house, for real! Plus-you have met some really interesting people by traveling in dream house... Beautiful! Love you and your adventures guys!
We came from Dallas also. We thought about sailing even bought a Baba 30. But the wind changed and we bought a Winnebago and are cruising the U.S. and probably Canada. one thing we would like to do is take a riverboat trip thru Europe from Amsterdam to th Black sea.
I recently saw this video. I’ve seen your recent, but not your older videos on the previous boat. This gave me a better perspective how you have the boat you have now, vs the one you started with…. You both are great. I enjoy watching your videos. I am inspired to try myself. I am looking at boats to get an idea, but the 100k seems to be where I’ll be landing. I look forward to trying island hopping, until i get the hang of things…keep posting. Love your new boat.
Fantastic video filled with great details! We are actually SUPER IMPRESSED that your average monthly budget is this low... It's inspiring to remember that, like you both shared, you can live an alternative life on any range of budgets. Cheers & thanks!
As sailing channel junkie, this was the best comprehensive explantion of costs I have seen. Great job. Sorry about spelling prior and in the future , this page used to spell check me but seems they turned it off or I missed a setting to change that I do not know about. I go back and read comments, oh geez.
I would add a couple of things about insurance: 1. Boat insurance for an expensive boat that has a loan is going to be much more expensive than, say, a less expensive boat with no loan (i.e., there would be no regulatory requirement for insurance.) One could probably be comfortable just purchasing a liability policy to cover damage to other property. 2. I completely understand individuals being risk averse and choosing to buy insurance for personal belongings (e.g., your cameras, rings, etc.) but always keeping in mind that insurance companies work on a positive expected value model - i.e., they make a profit. It's kind of like Las Vegas... :) So, if one is risk neutral, a more rational (in a game theory or economic context - no offense) choice would be to self-insure. One of the better videos on boat costs (AND you have a dog in it. Can never go wrong there. :) )
As a RUclipsr wanna be, Your Business Expenses would be extremely interesting. Not anything personal, but your basic essential costs that you need to have for RUclips. So pretend you only had an Iphone. What do you spend for software, Wifi, other business expenses?? Actually you probably don't need to reveal $$$ just what you have to make this all work? What would cause your channel fall apart if you didn't have it? Its a great channel (Maybe you don't want to reveal your Secrets)
You both always look amazing! It's really fun watching your videos, you can even make a Boat cost video enjoyable to watch. By far the quality of your video's is second to none. I look forward to seeing you both back on Curiosity and on to a new adventure! Stay safe, HUGS 😊❤☀️🏖🍷🍺🌏⛵⛵⛵
Appreciate the encouragement provided for those are considering casting the lines. We are life long sailors (had a L39 & L45L inbound) and could clearly see from our shared ride on that Leopard Powercat from the late night Miami boat show, that you all are the real deal. Thank you! Can you share the cost of running your business? Internet, camera, editing computers, website,.... You estimated 36K in annual expenses, but would guess that you need to invest 10+K in the systems, that fund those expenses. Love your input here. Cheers and thank you, s/v RadiantHope
Loving your videos! RUclips analytics brought me here. I will never own a boat home, but I feel strangely compelled to know about the workings and the realities of “The Boating Life”.
I think it would be very helpful to have a video on insurance. Everyone needs it and even thought its not sexy it can save newbs like me a lot. Love your channel.
Just use Revolut, Curve or N26 for banking, you also have health and electronic insurance with Revolut very cheap extra or included in premium paid plans
I love the way you two educate on the realities of cruising life. Easy to understand while entertaining. I would like to see a breakdown of insurance sometime, i.e. international, seasonal, restrictions, etc. Also, if you have not already (maybe I haven't seen it yet while trying to catch up) I am interested to learn more about your experience with the composting toilet. Thanks again for an informative video ❤️🤙
There is a whole section on the blog devoted to life with a composting toilet. They were all made back in the RV days, but since they have the same toilets on the boat the info is still relative. And yes, they are very happy with them still. www.gonewiththewynns.com/rvin Curious Minion
@@vinceglauser4770 They mention that they also have business expenses (not included in this breakdown), so you can deduce that they run a business. At the "about" section on all RUclips channels, you can see details of other links to various business endeavours that bring in much needed income. Follow those links and you can imagine how the process works. Each channel will select the business model(s) that suit their needs and general philosophy.
A small question but something I have always wanted to know. What do you do with all the different currencies (notes and change) you must have gathered over the years? Love you guys. Get sailing again. Love your vlogs. They are some of the best I have seen xx. Derek
Yes dog was highlight love dogs.He was only one percent of the value of their boat after normal depreciation and expenses, less ins rare anchorage duties poop bags etc.
I found your videos by accident about the Covid quarantine and I totally loved it. Immediately subscribed it. Since then I’ve watched a couple of other videos like this one. You seem legit great people I admire your bravery. Congratulations for that, it’s a great deal nowadays. Keep up with the good work. It’s beautiful and we (me and my wife) love to “travel” with you guys. Congratulations once again.
Since your US land-visit (setting mom up with the Sprinter), your videos continue to get more personal, relatable, ...they feel...less curated. Really great to continue to watch you two! Thank you! :) Question re: maintenance skills. It's purely personal aptitude, but how did you perceive the learning curve to figure out all the maintenance? From electronics to mechanics, from sails to engines... It's an incredible all-around job; it can't be always easy or intuitive, and it's likely time-intense when you learn it all?
Well everybody has a different background. When we were in service in Ft. Lauderdale we shadowed the techs and asked a lot of questions. It was like "boat school 101" and we learned a TON!
Very demotivating video for someone who wants to sail on a low budget. However, it looks like the reality. Watching some other channels that show low costs, and this now, looks like, as mentioned in the video, it all depends on someone's life style. Good to know. Thank you for sharing. ❣
it would seem to reason that the cruiser community would have networked and recommendations for things like places to dock, what places charge more or less.....how helpful have yall found that type of networking to be, for everything from dock fees to where to buy fresh veggies
This is an amazing video. It is so much more expensive in terms of hidden expenses one would never think of without experience. This was a sobering experience but very important to hear. Glad you are having fun!
When Space X Star Link is up and running will you invest in a receiver for your boat? (High speed internet anywhere, even in the middle of the Pacific Ocean).
Can you please make a video about bad parts when sailing. Arguments and things you miss from home. Most RUclips sailing videos are nice and fun but I bet that half of the time is hard, scary, mouldy, crazy, wet, seak and other things! Thanks! I enjoy your videos and envy your experiences! 😜
Hello fellow sailors and future sailors, if you have been watching the sailing channels like The Wynns (love you guys by the way) you probably have seen Patrick Childress “the brick house”. Unfortunately Patrick has passed away today due to covid complications and i just want to tell people to watch his videos, show support. I never met him, only watched his videos, he had a great sailing life with immense knowledge in sailing and being the mcguyver of sailing in my eyes. Please watch his videos, you wont be disappointed, i dont advertise another channel on someone elses channel ever bit he was a great man in my opinion and i felt like sharing....his wife is in their boat right now, alone. I wish Patrick fair winds in his journey. RIP Patrick Childress
Thank you so much for this video! This almost exactly mirrors what I have been planning. Awesome confirmation of my hard work in trying to tie down this sailing budget. You guys are fantastic. Sail on!
Hi, thank you for all the information about Boat and Living Cost. I have been curious about this since I started watching your videos. I love to travel, I love the beautiful beaches, and I think it will be more exciting to go sailing.
My dog rarely watches your episodes on Sunday’s w me. But today she caught sight of the pup and watched all the scenes w the photo bombing puppy! Great episode.
Hi guys! binging on your videos... again! haha! Question: how safe do you feel out there as far as pirates and other criminal enterprises known to be out there in the high seas??
Very helpful, as I am putting together my own estimate of monthly costs. A big variable is health and life insurance, especially for people who are closer to retirement age. Those costs can go up dramatically as one "matures."
We spent more money... especially on maintenance. In urban areas like Sydney, Papetee and Auckland (more expensive than most) we spend $4-5K a month. More on moorage, restaurants and transportation i think than you did. In rural areas we spent $2-3K per month. We could have spent less, but we had the resources to do so and worked only moderately at minimizing costs. We are a little bit bigger boat and our time frame was 2012 to present.
He miss-spoke the word 'handy' & that is why it has the ?!? with it. & they comment on the dog at top of comment section in their 'pinned' remark , "Beach Dog - HA! We did not adopt “RED” the beach dog. She likes to walk with us and decided to make her RUclips debut for our money chat."
Thanks for such a detailed expenses video. I hope to be buying a boat in about 2 years and adventuring on the lifestyle when I retire. This was a really helpful video. Thanks again!
This seems to add up to expectations. Otherwise we would not be gone with the Wynn's. Thanks for the video folks. Recreational boating is now allowed in Queensland 😀
My wife and I are going to join the cruising life style next year. Can you go into more depth on banking, health insurance, boat registration, and how you get around the US requirement of having an address in the US to do banking and investing. We are retirees and will not have a parent or family member's address to us.
It is legal to have no address. However makes it impossible to to most things, such as get a drivers license, buy a car, open a bank account, file a tax return, etc. However, you can do all these things with just a PO box or a box at a mail forwarding service as your address. ... It is legal to have no address.
www.gonewiththewynns.com/travel-money-international-banking already provides a lot of info on banking. There is already a lot of info out there on establishing residency if you're going to travel. You might want to start by checking mail forwarding organizations for cruisers, such as St. Brendan's Isle in Florida. RV sites such as Escapees also have a lot of info for establishing residency that would still be helpful for cruisers. Curious Minion
Would be interested in into your business expenses. As I have no clue what they might be and as a recreational photographer am curious. Keep up the good work, I enjoy your videos.
You can read a bit about their policy and why they chose it here: www.gonewiththewynns.com/exhausting-journey-buying-cruising-sailboat And stay tuned - I believe an insurance post is coming soon. Curious Minion
This is great, thanks for the tips. I've been following you for a long time, please don't let Nadi Bay be your lasting memory of Fiji - the Mamanuca and Yasawa are well worth visiting, especially via yacht. I lived in Fiji as a teenager so I know exactly where you are. If you want a cheap day trip I highly recommend Castaway Island or Cloud9. Good luck getting back to Tonga, nearly there.
@@CCB249, it's actually just over $14,000. To be fair, I no longer have a mortgage (as I now own my house outright) but they didn't mention paying anything for the actual boat either. I'm also still able to save almost $500 per month (from that total) for holidays etc.
Also, I would consider myself to be 'careful' with money. I *never* waste it on rubbish like starbucks or anything, and we eat out about 6 or 7 times a year. I consider our lifestyle to be 'modest'.
Great video, again! For the more mature crowd, realize that Medicare likely will not cover if you are a cruiser. Good point on emergency evac coverage. Curious about your challenges of sourcing foods for your diet. Do you still try to stay organic?
You forgot to mention the "type of cellphone" you use as androids can have two SIM cards and additional microSD memory while iPhones can't. This is something no one ever talks about on sailing channels as in the little things you overlook. Love you to two mucho mucho grande and always smile when you two are on (even when racing the hillbillys and hippies) stay safe and keep up the great job while living the dream. See you out there on the blue soon.
Thank you all for the comments! Money is a difficult subject to cover as it brings out lots of irrelevant opinions of how one should live their life. But we know it helps many plan for their next life, so that’s why we share.

Just stay home watch the channel. Because you’re too Afraid of life and raised by television and education. Wow

Very well said !!
💙💙💙💙💙
Can’t believe I have been planning for 4 + years. Takes a long time to unwind myself from current situation. Lots of financial and relationship implications..
I feel ya, Kirk!! (even way longer than 4 yrs for me, unfortunately!) We're all in the same boat...planning the one we want to buy but still landlocked and watching from afar! Hopefully one of these days the strings will be cut, the anchors will be pulled, the sails will be full and our adventures will begin! ⛵️ Hang in there! Happy dreaming/planning/saving!! 😄
Desde P.Rico me gusto mucho su reflexión!!Suerte
My wife and I are on a ten year plan since we have a son, but this has given us confidence that our fixed budget at 50 is doable!!!
Thanks guys. You have convinced me that my wife and I can live on our roughly $2,800 per month of Social Security in a motor home and that's not anywhere close to all of our income. You guys are awesome and perk me up every Sunday morning. Stay safe and I hope you get back to Curiosity soon.
That is awesome! Glad you're following your dreams.
We also full time RV. We have found that it is very afordable and a great way to see things. These two convenced me to sell my boat and get an RV. Then they went and got a boat.....lol
jim hike what a story! Do you miss the boat?
I don't know about others, but I would love to know more about insurance, both boat and health options that you discovered
hey! we've been living on our 58-foot catamaran with no experience and our insurance was $16,000 USD the first year and $12,000 USD --- it really depends on where you plan to cruise...
Not everyone has everything covered.
poop deck*
I'm amazed that you could sail as far as you have with little sailing experience, you've got alot of guts and I admire you.
Sailing is not that difficult, you just have to stay ahead of the boat.
💙💙💙
Lots of New Zealanders travel there! It's our backyard basically.
Holy Cow !! I can't believe it's been TEN YEARS !! You are such a great couple and we have all enjoyed each video. God Bless and keep you !
I would be interested in hearing about your 5 most scariest sailing experiences!?
YES! OMGosh, so scary (in my imagination) 😳
I image losing the life raft will be on there.
Thanks for the 💙💙💙💙!
Happy being a part of it. Y'all are skilled entertainers. Really, always upbeat, real and fun. I thank you
I'm wondering what portion of the boat maintenance is related to having internal combustion engines rather than electric engines?
Love the beautiful dog’s persistence. “I like you, human. Pet me!”. Wonderfully informative. Hope you’re on your way soon.
Rv Wall-e You can really tell she is a cat person and not a dog lover. Who could resist petting that darling pup? A cat person, of course.😊
Pamela Walz got it right with her comment and I whole heartedly agree !!!
We came from Dallas also. We thought about sailing even bought a Baba 30. But the wind changed and we bought a Winnebago and are cruising the U.S. and probably Canada. one thing we would like to do is take a riverboat trip thru Europe from Amsterdam to th Black sea.
oh boy, those river cruises look amazing!!!
Ive been wanting to do that route by bicycle.
Less than I thought,by a considerable margin.
Yes, definitely a video on the insurance. Tips and what you don't know or what to expect...
I would add a couple of things about insurance:
@ David Malone - 👍Good info. Thank you. 💝
Great job breaking down the monthly expenses for us! I truly admire your Candor & Courage in living your dreams!
Maybe have a show that covers local Fiji art or local plants and wildlife or new beach’s or the Fiji people ! Or maybe how you two first met !
You both always look amazing!
It's really fun watching your videos, you can even make a Boat cost video enjoyable to watch.
By far the quality of your video's is second to none.
I look forward to seeing you both back on Curiosity and on to a new adventure! Stay safe, HUGS

This means you own your boat, not payments.. most people wouldn't be able to do that. Even if they own their house, it's not likely paid for either.
Cheers and thank you,

And yes, they are very happy with them still. www.gonewiththewynns.com/rvin

Yes please! Health insurance and boat insurance are super important but not really talked about in this lifestyle. Thank you!
You covered basically everything, that was really good...
@@vinceglauser4770 They mention that they also have business expenses (not included in this breakdown), so you can deduce that they run a business. At the "about" section on all RUclips channels, you can see details of other links to various business endeavours that bring in much needed income. Follow those links and you can imagine how the process works. Each channel will select the business model(s) that suit their needs and general philosophy.
really? In nice concise way? I disagree didnt like it at all, giggle giggle he he , ugh.
A small question but something I have always wanted to know. What do you do with all the different currencies (notes and change) you must have gathered over the years? Love you guys. Get sailing again. Love your vlogs. They are some of the best I have seen xx. Derek
The dog is so cute! Hope your fostering him or her too!!
Welcome & thanks for sailing with us!
Since your US land-visit (setting mom up with the Sprinter), your videos continue to get more personal, relatable, ...they feel...less curated. Really great to continue to watch you two! Thank you! :)
Question re: maintenance skills.
Reality.
it would seem to reason that the cruiser community would have networked and recommendations for things like places to dock, what places charge more or less.....how helpful have yall found that type of networking to be, for everything from dock fees to where to buy fresh veggies
Extremely helpful!
If you believe it .....2020 suppose to be up and running $80 usd 20 to 100mb lets just hope put all theres other scammers out of bizzzz...
So far, Starlink is at one fixed address. No roaming. Yet.
Also, Thanks for putting so much time into your editing. It makes soooooo much of a great difference in our watching experience.

It looks like a puppy adopted you. Cutie pie pup.
The reflection of the lowering sun in the sunglasses was pretty cool
These video's are so informative! Thank you very much for being so honest :)!
I would love to see a vlog on how you prepare for storms while on the boat. Is there a way to keep lightening away from the mast?
Can't focus on money, busy looking at doggo!
YES YES PLEASE! Do make a video dedicated only to insurance. Thank you and Cheers from Denver Colorado
Good news.
Fiji is showing no active cases today.
Love your humor. Wear gloves when picking up liter when on beaches.
💔💔💔💔
The yearly cost doesn't sound unreasonable but man, It sounds really complicated! I'll just sit back and watch
Compared to having a small piece of land with a pond and a canou
Thank you so much for this video! This almost exactly mirrors what I have been planning. Awesome confirmation of my hard work in trying to tie down this sailing budget. You guys are fantastic. Sail on!
No,NO- keep the gruesome realities out of my day dreams!

ROFLMBO!!!!!!
Hi, thank you for all the information about Boat and Living Cost. I have been curious about this since I started watching your videos. I love to travel, I love the beautiful beaches, and I think it will be more exciting to go sailing.
Who is that beautiful pup? Are you fostering him?
Belongs to the neighbors!
Yeah. I was wondering that myself. Pretty good at photobombing.

Great video explaining that anyone can if they only want to. "Just Do It".
Hi guys! binging on your videos... again!
I live abroad and am interested what health insurance you use.
"CANDY?!?" What's that in reference to at about 18:44? :-) It is only on screen for 1 frame maybe 2. Yes, you didn't cover the puppy.
We would love to see a video on insurance!
I’m only on min 6 and already in love with that cute puppy who seems to be your very close friend
This seems to add up to expectations. Otherwise we would not be gone with the Wynn's. Thanks for the video folks. Recreational boating is now allowed in Queensland 😀
Recreational boating "not allowed in Queensland" ?!
Goodness, what's that about?... or are you being facetious?

I'd like to know more about boat insurance.
Would be interested in into your business expenses. As I have no clue what they might be and as a recreational photographer am curious. Keep up the good work, I enjoy your videos.
Great info, thanks! Who do you use for healthcare? Would love to know.
Cheers!
I would love to see a video all about insurance. This will be my first time buying a boat and I have ZERO knowledge. You guys are great!
You can read a bit about their policy and why they chose it here: www.gonewiththewynns.com/exhausting-journey-buying-cruising-sailboat And stay tuned - I believe an insurance post is coming soon.

Such great info this is like GOLD DUST! How are things going out in Fiji, any signs of moving towards opening up? Take care 😊
😢 No real info on borders opening. Still staying hopeful.
@@gonewiththewynns There's news from Tahiti and French Polynesia.
*Ouch* The total budget for myself & my wife (living on land) is well below half that.
Hi Larry Are you living in Alaska in a cabin???😁 any vacant lots????
You and your wife live on $16,800 a year? That is below poverty level. Do you grow all your own food?
