HOW TO GET THE DARKEST GRASS PERIOD!

  • By far, the fastest and most effective way to get a dark green lawn is by applying iron to your grass. Grass uses iron to create chlorophyll, which ultimately gives your grass that dark green color. By using iron, fertilizer, and plant growth regulator together, you can create a dynamic mixture that turns your grass deep green in less than 24 hours.
    In today's video I show you how to mix together urea, plant growth regulator (T-Nex), and iron (Feature). When mixing these ingredients together and applying them with a foliar application, you get insanely fast results.
    To have the darkest lawn in the neighborhood, you definitely want to be applying iron!

      This product and method may work perfectly. But at 5 min 51 sec into the video you can clearly see the color and effects have been altered to make it seem that the yard is greener. Not cool. Stuff like this is why so many people still can’t go to RUclips or google with confidence that they will get true factual information. Something as little as editing colors of a picture is unfortunately is misleading,lying, scamming, bullshitin, for your own gain. Have had a suspicion that the chlorine in tap-water makes the iron less effective- I have been using the water from
    my dehumidifier with various liquid iron brands and get the same quick deep green-up. I have also used distilled water
    and got the same results. Will definitely try adding citric acid to the next batch. This is a great community and I appreciate
    all the work that you put into your videos.

    • @chriskvikstad4980
      @chriskvikstad4980 Год назад

      To get rid of the chlorine in the tap water, if you think it's impacting your results, put it in an open container and let it sit out for a day or so before using it. The chlorine will dissipate. It's a trick with sourdough bread baking so the chlorine in the tap water doesn't kill the good bacteria and yeast in the starter.👍

      There is no way I'm going to pay extra money to buy distilled water to spray it on my lawn, when I have tap water at home. The only bottled water that I'm paying for is my drinking water, not distilled water to put on my grass. When it rains, what are you going to do? Rainwater has contaminants from all the pollutants in the air, and there's nothing you can do about it because it's an act of God. You might as well go on and use tap water, since you're already paying for it anyway.

And if so, are you running a water softener upstream of that? I ask because my experience with hard water out here is that its hard because it has so much iron in it, so you might be doing more work than you need. Just a thought, if your regular cold tap water is also a high pH then don't worry about nothing.

    Great video & pH info. Feature says"If your tap water is high pH, above 8-9+, then I would suggest using citric
    acid or Ammonium sulfate to drop the pH a bit prior to adding FEature if
    your tap water is in the 7 range there is a good chance FEature will drop
    the water pH down to around 5.5 on its own as it has citric acid and
    Ammonium sulfate in it." Keep up the helpful content!

      Dude, lawn care is not physics that requires a physicist to formulate and examine a specialized water in a laboratory to put on the grass. That's extreme! Lawn care is not that complex and strategic, It's very simple. When it comes to grass, water is water. Everything else is nonsense because you're not going to drink it. Do you think grass can tell the difference if it's getting pure Evian, Fiji bottled water or tap water from the faucet? No, because it's grass and grasses are not selective of the kind of water it gets, as long as its water.

    Foliar applications are best done right after the dew has dried off or just after the break of evening. This is the time that stomates, known as stomata, are open. Just as pores act in our skin, so too do stomata in the epidermis of leaves.

    One tip... Iron reacts with Belgium block and turns it to a nasty rust color and it will NEVER come off. Granular might be the way to go if you don't feel like be super careful with that sprayer full of minerals.

    Great advice as always, my understanding is “and I’m happy to be corrected” grass does not absorb moisture, the roots do, so no point in the iron mixture sitting on the blades of grass, as it needs to soak into the ground for the roots to absorb, would it be a good idea to cut the grass short to help get the mixture to the soil?

    • @slimdude2011
      @slimdude2011 11 месяцев назад

      If you're using a liquid iron, no it doesn't need to be watered in, but if you're using a granular iron then yes, it needs to be watered to the soil.

    Great job on the directions. I'm going to do this as you laid out. I'm going to add PGR as you discussed. Question: Do you think adding a surfactant would help or hurt the process? I cut the lawn today. Going to do all this tomorrow. Big Thanks

    • @LAWNLIFE
      @LAWNLIFE  20 дней назад

      Adding a surfactant will definitely help as it's a foliar application. There were already so many things going into this, I didn't want to make it even more complicated

    • @troyhickman8577
      @troyhickman8577 9 дней назад

      Surfactants I believe are a crucial component with anything you spray! Pesticides, herbicides, you name it. Surfactants along with aeration are also great for breaking up thatch, fairy rings and drainage. We have 5 acres of finish lawn (tall fescue, no irrigation) so detaching isn't an option. Along with liquid iron I add bulk bags of Epsom salt (magnesium) for an extra kick!

    What is your opinion about using Milorganite because it has 6% iron? It does not have the 6% iron every year. It seems like every other year you can find Milorganite with iron.

    Hey I just sprayed the liquid iron on my lawn today 5/21/2024. Almost to the 4 hour period of sitting on lawn. Is it ok to have it on there for more than 4 hours before watering? Also how often do you apply this to lawn? I bought the iron you used and i have the mixer with drill motor and scale. The chapin back pack sprayer I bought is pump and not electric. It is a lot more work pumping to keep spray pattern the same throughout the lawn.
