True Love is a performance semi-displacement trawler motor yacht that is truly at home in stormy offshore weather and equally comfortable plying calm coastal waters. Created out of custom aluminum alloy, she is an outstanding island hopper and coastal cruiser. Offered for sale by her second owners, True Love represents a unique opportunity for an experienced cruiser who can appreciate the outstanding value she represents. The original requirement was a safe vessel that could be handled by a couple and that has been achieved.
Throughout her life, there has never been a limitation due to budget. She has the coastal cruising experience to take you and your family safely to numerous ports of call. Every aspect of the boat was thoroughly researched with the goal of achieving their “perfect floating home”. The design was enhanced by creating a bill of materials that specified the best available, industry leading equipment. The launch was a huge success, a beautiful build completed with compliments and congratulations all around.
It may seem difficult to establish value for a one-of-a-king original, but one factual measure is the price she cost to build new, which was over six million dollars in 2005!
True Love is a stellar example of an ideal coastal cruising trawler. This is quite simply an extraordinary yacht. Her two owners have contributed their expertise and care and enjoyed many years of trouble-free cruising aboard this beautiful Snowbird 73.
JMYS is a US based yacht brokerage serving the worldwide audience of cruisers interested in ocean capable trawlers and tugs. We hope you to enjoy the video and will contact listing broker Jeff Merrill to make an appointment to get aboard.

Your presentation style is great! Some salespeople almost put me to sleep. This is the first video like this which I’ve watched start to finish. This is probably my favorite boat I’ve seen, although I would change the owner suite to one bed. The salon/kitchen/pilot house open concept is SOOOO we’ll done! Thanks!
Tanglangfa: Well, thank you for your nice note about the presentation. True Love is a spectacular yacht, so much time, money and effort put in to her build. She is priced now at a place where you could change the interior arrangements to your liking.
He does such a good job showing a boat. He does his homework. Oh, great boat.
Eli: Thank you very much, very kind of you. I'm lucky to get to share awesome boats!
Fantastic use of space.
A great combination of coastal cruiser and passage maker.
Wayne: Thank you for your nice comment. A special boat for sure and a lot of versatility for the right owners.
Jeff has the most eclectic collection of shirts of any host on RUclips 🤣
Vince: Thank you for noticing, I do like to wear a Reyn Spooner each day!
Thanks again for the tour!
And Great job...
Brady: Thank you for watching and for your nice comment!
With all those individual beds this vessel should be named Platonic Love :)
Lon: Clever.
Maybe, but for familiy use it looks quite functional. I like it almost as much as a Bering B75. Easy and heavy duty, the way I like it. Don't like all the fancy stuff that's on some of the new boats...
Beautiful Presentation
Excel: Thank you for taking the time to write!
previously known as retired sailor - and for sale with JMYS. Nonetheless, what a beauty!
Mr1977: Yes, good memory. We did have her listed for sale several years ago and here she is again, better than ever!
Love it
Tim: Thank you, she is a special boat.
For a coastal cruising couple with kids or similar this would be a great boat. I don't know how I would modify the cabin setup if at all. And that aluminum hull is great. Thank you Jeff. Another to consider. Be safe.
Ron: Thank you! Very well conceived and executed and, they got exactly what they wanted since they couldn't find it in the "mainstream" trawler world. It works, and like everything on every trawler you can always do thing differently or improve. Thanks for your note.
Beautiful 🤩 boat 🛥
Theresa: I agree, thank you!
Engines are Scania??? Could have sworn it said Yanmar on the exhaust manifold…just wondering? Nice vessel…
Michael: You are correct, branded Yanmar, built by Scania. Too long of an explanation for a reply here. In this case, one and the same - good eye!
Love comes at a cost, True Love isn't free.
Vicki: True Love is priceless!
@@JeffMerrillYachts - In this case, merely very expensive.
❤️
Thank you!
What an amazing trawler. Wonderful condition for the year as well. Who cares if the layout is a bit funky.
Tony: She really is an amazing boat and the people who created her built exactly what they wanted, not what a builder wanted them to buy.
Hi Jeff: I assume that this vessel is probably sold ? Can the main and guest staterooms be reconfigured to move to one bed ? Thx,
Bill: Surprisingly to me and everyone who has been aboard, she is still available. Incredible opportunity and yes, there is a drawing for a reconfiguration to modify the aft stateroom area. If you are interested please email me directly so I can forward. Jeff@JMYS.com. Thank you for your note!
JM is this still for sale
MyFuture: Yes, feel free to call or email me directly to discuss. Thank you.
Ok I like it but needs good work done on some things and I never herd if it had stabilizers? I maybe in a position in a few weeks.
😅😅😂😂 true love and sleep in secret beds. For real though, I love how this boat is set up. This would be perfect for 8 of my buddy's to go fishin in the Bahamas for a couple weeks.
Albert: Good observation, the layout works for the family who built it and the family who bought her - ready for you and your crew to step up and take her to the Bahamas!
@@JeffMerrillYachts how much are you asking for it? I am interested in it for real.
Limited range for that size boat
PN: Designed for coastal cruising at reasonable speeds, not an ocean crosser, but wonderful for harbor to harbor, cove to cove travel
@@JeffMerrillYachts a bit large for that designation
Man, that crap interior layout means thats gonna be a tough sell ...... good luck !
Dave: Layout is important, it's generating a lot of interest and at the current asking price a smart buyer could use for awhile, figure out what they wanted to change and then make the adjustments and still be money ahead.
That is a Beautiful Boat!
Nicely Decorated and I like the Unique Choices they made in Her Design.
Best Wishes! M.H.
Mike: Thank you for your nice comment. This is a really cool boat.
If only it was affordable in today’s market. Maybe when sounder minds are in power and our country is more energy independent, upkeep costs will be more reasonable.
Ken: I guess it's all perspective. She was over $6 million to build new. Comparing that vs. asking price and you could buy a round of fuel for every boat in every marina you visit for a year or two
Tankage update: Fuel = 1,710 gallons | 6,473 liters
Fresh water = 212 gallons | 802.5 liters
Black water = 309 gallons | 1,170 liters
Gray water = 251 gallons | 95 liters
A nice coastal cruiser. Like others have said, the interior is rather pedestrian. It would be hard to buy a yacht like this and not have a true pilot house with Stidd helm chairs and all the electronic goodies. Also, 900 nm seems a bit low (by 50%) for a trawler of this size. I guess the difference is it looks like a trawler but could not really be considered a passage maker. That being said, a very nice job showing the yacht. Well done as per usual.
Pchansen100: Thank you for your feedback. She is a great coastal boat, ideal for the Bahamas. The sedan layout works, both owners prefer to run underway from the flybridge.
Very impressive boat. 👏 I like your boat tours. Thanks for sharing.
All About: Thank you for your nice comment and for watching. True Love really is an impressive trawler.
Excellent boat, very nice layout, my self I wouldn't change anything, regarding the video my only disappointment is that i haven't see the way you go to the aft cabin 😊😊😊
Frankie: Thank you. The aft port corner of the saloon has a curved stairway that leads down to a landing. From the landing you can go forward to the engine room or aft to the stateroom. The "boat map" shows this, and we have layouts, photos and specifications on JMYS.com.
Jeff, this is a passage maker? Range 900 miles on 1700 gallons? Something is wrong here. Beautiful vessel otherwise… for a costal cruiser
Frank: Definitely a coastal cruiser - semi displacement hull.
No one…no one…does a better job than you!
Ben: Thank you very much, I appreciate your note!
@@michaelpowell9164 I've just had surgery for two hernias, hopefully will lead to a smoother gait now
Good talk. Take a nice t-short and fancy hat, otherwise you sell only this movie, then your sales ratio goes up which makes a lot of people happy. the rest is good, thanks! Good luck and good sales!!!
Alexander: Thank you for watching and making suggestions. This is a spectacular boat that is ready for cruising.
Awesome Job covering a 73' boat in 15 Minutes Jeff! Love Love Love The "Talk Thought Tours"! I think what marxg4 is thinking he saw as "Retractable Awnings" Are actually long "Boat Hooks" @ 2:07 Anyway Thanks for sharing! 😎👍⚓
Captain Rick: Hey man, it wouldn't be right if I didn't hear from you in the first 24 hours. Thank you for following and being an early commenter. I have fun filming and sharing these, every boat has great features, True Love has a "boat load" of them. Marxg4 - is Captain Rick correct? Thank you. Jeff
Loved everything about the boat! That is, until you went through the staterooms. What a brutal set up. A boat that big and expensive needs to show some class in its staterooms. Talk about bland. Good luck selling that boat with that layout (unless it's already sold).
Mark: It was exactly what the original owners wanted. The second owners had plans to change the staterooms, but actually found it worked. Very rare layout, not for everyone. Obviously it could be reconfigured, but at what cost and how long would it take?
The layout on this is just confusing me to be honest, I don't like the sleeping arrangements and absolutely detest the way the upper deck looks like an afterthought. Add the limited lower steering position and it just doesn't add up. A real shame because it could be a gorgeous go anywhere trawler, but would need a lot of spending on it to get it to a desirable spec.
Dr: When you have the ability to build a boat exactly the way you want it, it often means you could not find what you were looking for. That is the case here. I agree, the staterooms are not typical. The lower helm works great for backing the boat into the slip. Upper deck is fabulous, single level. But everyone has their own opinions and thank you for sharing yours.
@@JeffMerrillYachts Appreciate that, and it is of course true! Also to let you know I really do like your channel, you are a true gent and able to teach folks a lot about trawlers, for which I am grateful :)
@@JeffMerrillYachts - Stunningly gorgeous vessel. I like your format and presentation. It's very well done. I especially like the layout diagram with the roving red dot. I can't afford this yacht being a mere plebe but I have to agree the cabin layout is unconventional and not really suited to a younger couple for obvious reasons. Thus the strong comments regarding this aspect. You point out gently and repeatedly that it is a custom build which explains a lot. You're too good a salesman to shrug your shoulders and say out loud what I'm pretty certain you're thinking. So, not to put words in _your_ mouth I'll say only this.
Hey, it is what it is. And it's for sale. You buy it and you can do whatever you like to change it.
Jeff I love your tours. That is a fabulous boat. The engine room is A1....massive headroom...the best I have ever seen. Such an interesting boat....the galley right next to the helm, huge spaces on this boat. The very particular designs of the owners, such as the Master Cabin would mean a refit for most people. But as a Kadey Krogen devotee...I have to say I loved this boat. Great tour...loved the visibility from the Salon....
Stephen: Thank you for your nice note about the tours and more importantly about True Love. Really a great design and build. A refit is definitely possible and would be reasonable to do.
Of course you would say the engine room is the best room. It's the man cave on True Love.
Vicki: I'm guess I'm guilty as charged. This is an engine room you could live in, a modern cave for sure.
With the mix of kids, I travel with that would not work. But I am sure you will find the right person for this layout. Looks like a lot of thought went into it. Love the upper deck and proximity of Gally to lower helm. Great for making a quick snack while underway.
Tim: Thank you, one of the best features is that two experienced people can handle and operate. Yes, a great deal of thought with excellent results.
Nice custom... wouldn't change a thing except the lower helm also needs a Stidd....don't think I could sit in that helm seat for 8 hours...
Steve: Understand. The lower helm is primarily used for docking - standing. It is not common to drive sitting from down below, but possible. If you changed it out you would lose some cabinetry, but there is plenty of storage.
Best part? The kitchen layout! The kitchen "Ls" perfectly bridge the salon and the helm, while also breaking up the space. As for the staterooms? I'd modify the aft as the owner's.
Scott: Thank you, it is a very well thought out interior, exterior, machinery spaces, etc. Would be very possible to make the owner stateroom aft - that room is gigantic.
Very nice trawler ..... great to live aboard .... it should sell fast .... in the description you should state approximate cruising range at 6, 7 and 8 knots with 1,710 gallons of fuel plus what is the top speed.
Orlando: Thank you, we do have the fuel capacity in the video. The listing details with more photos is on JMYS.com and we can include more information there and update things that change, like engine hours. Current owners are quite happy cruising at 9.0 knots.
I love your videos it’s very professional and very detailed. Thank you I appreciate each video gives me a look on what I want to get!
Mitchell: Really appreciate this, thank you!
This is the third yacht I have seen with separate beds in the main cabin for the couple. Odd! Why wouldn't you want to sleep in the same bed as your spouse?
Cenobite: It's not very common. I think in later years a good night sleep without interruption or distraction may make sense. I prefer a shared bed, but on many boats bunks are the only option, just not normally in the owner stateroom. It could be changed, but it's worked for two couples so far.
@@JeffMerrillYachts Understood and it makes sense. Yeah, I prefer one bed with my wife.
great boat I wonder how it would handle the west coast oceans and travel up to AK. from CA.
Dave: She is ready. Was built in BC and did initial trials on the west coast. I'm sure she would thrive, good thought!
She's a pretty lady.. Would need to redo the master cabin lol.. Looks amazing though lots of potential
Thoughtful: Thank you, she is attractive inside and out. I hear you on the layout, it's not for everyone, but the first two owners have not modified. The value at the current asking price would give a buyer plenty of room to make changes. Thanks for your note.
@@JeffMerrillYachts thank you for the info
While the current layout seems off in the tour if I was to purchase her I wouldn't make any changes at all until after 2 years of using her.
Let the current layout show where it fails for me before going for changes.
Then the changes being made will be tuned into what doesn't work well for me firstly, changes for looks alone are a delay as long as possible.
Beautiful boat. Whacky layout.
Andrewaway: It's what they wanted and the second owners didn't change it, so it's different, maybe whacky, but it's how they designed it.
This yacht would have sold a long time ago, but the cabin layouts are very unusual and most likely what is causing most buyers to look elsewhere.
Powerstroke: She is an incredible value, the layout is unique and what the original owners wanted.
Well thought custom built yachts with bright interior and ,well Presented by Jeff
Aditya: Thank you for watching and she really is a very well thought through boat.
I LOVE how homey the inside of this yacht feels. Most yachts have a weird look on the side where it was made to look fancy and modern. This one looks like an actual comfortable homey feeling living room and kitchen.
Zack: Great comment, True Love was a culmination boat based on lifetimes of cruising and without the constraints of molds or marketing decisions. You need to step aboard to truly appreciate her.
Yea like great grandpas house
Good job explaining, keep up the good work.
Bud: Thank you!
Looks like retractable awnings over the windows as well, which you forgot. 😆
Nice lady!
Marx: I'm not sure about retractable awnings, are you talking about blinds on the inside or something on the outside? Can't cover everything in the video - the brochure is over 20 pages long! There is a lot more information on JMYS.com with photos, detailed description, equipment list, etc. Thanks for watching!
@@JeffMerrillYachts Well I went back to look at it and it actually looks like grab poles mounted above the windows. Must’ve been seeing things, or wishing for things. Lol
Thanks again😂
I would be happy with that boat.
Sunken: Yes, she has a lot of attractive features.
How Much $ - True Love
Hi Paul: We don't put prices or hours in our videos as they can change. All details including price, hours, etc. are on JMYS.com. Email me direct and I'll happily email you the specs - Jeff@JMYS.com thanks!
What is the pros with an aluminum haul?
Marc: Hull material - aluminum, steel, fiberglass all have advantages. For a custom build, using metal can be more practical than tooling up with molds to build with fiberglass. I don't think a RUclips Q and A is the best way to have this conversation. Please feel free to call me, 949.355.4950 if you would like to discuss. Thank you.
Jeff....can you do more trawlers and ocean crossing vessels? People want to dream about getting on a boat, leaving and never coming back.
Probed: I like to share all trawlers and tugs. This is an ocean capable trawler, not many trawlers are ocean crossing, but I'll see what I can come up with.
A boat that looks from the outside like a great cruising ship, then you get in there and see the "pilothouse" and realize, nope, this is for harbor ops.
Bo: Actually, she has run long trips between ports and spent a lot of time in the Bahamas. Not designed for ocean passages, but comfortable at sea. Thank you for watching.
Love it!! But can't afford,,,
Patricia: Thank you for watching!
How much ?
Engine hours ?
John: Price, engine hours and all relevant information on JMYS.com. We don't publish price is a video (it may change) same with hours, they will change. Happy to email you the brochure - Jeff@JMYS.com if you want, thanks.
Lol, just mail it to me
William: Come take a look and then you can buy her and take her home!
Master room. What was thinking. No one married happily would want it
Guy: It's exactly what they wanted, but it's not for everyone, I agree. Many would prefer to have the owner cabin aft, and that could be accomplished with some planning, a budget and a good carpenter
Very impressive. Very unique.
Ross: Thank you, she is a sweetheart!
I think I truly am in love
David: Good one, must be TRUE LOVE!
That that couple should have left it up to someone else to design the layout.. I don't think I've ever seen a worse layout on a boat. But the worst of it is having a galley backed up to my shoulder while operating a boat. Mr salesman there wants to sell this boat but you can bet he don't want that galley on his back either...lol
Mark: If you read the description on JMYS.com you will see that the original couple could not find what they wanted and so commissioned their own build to get what THEY wanted. Most operations from the flybridge. Not uncommon to have a pilothouse/galley/dining area. Thanks for watching.
@@JeffMerrillYachts yeah I'm old school born and raised Chesapeake Bay... Not my kind of build. Nice boat though I like to haul.
You dont sell out on true love😂😂😂
Pen: I'm sure there are many pun things you can say with that boat name!
how much?
Hi Peter - price is not put into the videos in case it changes over time - all details on JMYS.com or email me direct and I'll send you the brochure - Jeff@JMYS.com
Love everything except the bedrooms that turned me right off
Shane: Understand, that is why I tried to point out their uniqueness. The couple who commissioned her had very specific requirements for the accommodations and the boat was built exactly as they wanted it. You can see why they weren't able to find a similar layout from a production builder and had to do it their own way.
Shame about the range.
Michael: No shame at all, it is a great coastal boat, go fast and get there. Not designed for slow ocean passages.
Love it
John: Thank you for watching and letting us know!
Lekker man lekker
Thank you Gerhard!
I like this boat a lot! The milage it can do is just a pity.
Pieter: Thank you. For coastal I don't think the mileage is a problem, you are going from port to port. They didn't set out to cross oceans so are in a similar situation as other semi-displacement brands. Thanks for watching.
Beautiful boat!
Eric: Thank you!
A beautiful boat however....
Too much dark veneers inside and. box-like chairs and cushions everywhere.
The boat builder failed with the interior design and finish!
Lorne: The boat builder did what the person paying the money wanted to see. The hull shape and design are a success. The interior is owner's choice and tastes do vary. If you were to get aboard and see her in real life I think you would be very pleased. Thank you for watching.
@@JeffMerrillYachts
Yes an amazing boat.
I am a designer so just entered my own opinion based on their taste
Sleeping arrangements .... well I loved the boat until .... bu t someone will find it to be theirs.
They can rename the boat Celiboat. Maybe “Monk-E Bizness”. Nice boat though.
I can say after 50, some distance while sleeping is great. CPAP helps.
Eddie: It’s not conventional, that is why they built their own. Current (second) owners knew they were going to change the layout when they bought her, but have grown to appreciate this configuration and aren’t going to change it. Whoever owns her can make that decision.
@@JeffMerrillYachts I am very aware of what future buyers would do. I really loved the boat but I am not committed to changing the configuration at this time, that is just me.
I do keep returning to look and see what you have to offer and expect to become very active in my search after the first of the year.
@@matthelms4167 - Hah! I saw what you did there. (Nods to Gary Hart)

I absolutely love this boat! Great job!
Yacht Buoy: Thank you. Hey, I've seen some of your work video too, keep it up, you are growing strong!

@@scottstewart5784 - Wow, not a bad price. Given the initial build cost it's definitely a depreciating asset.
@@wickedcabinboy YUP. I'm at the lower end of the deprecation scale - I dream of a trawler or semi-displacement hull for 350K I can put 200K into to make my off-grid live aboard.
@@scottstewart5784 - take a couple of zeros off both those figures and that's my class.
Nice vessel. Well laid out. Good survey.
CAD: Thank you for your nice note.
Guess they really didn't like each other what a waste of interior space other than that nice yacht
Shane: On the contrary, they knew how the lived together and built the boat for them not for the mass market. This is a custom ordered, family cruising boat that was exactly what they wanted. Compared to a mass produced production boat it is a different use of space, and, could be reconfigured to a new layout.
