Small, fast, maneuverable, and pretty low scannable signatures, means evasion is your primary defense. Refit with low signature components and the most efficient (and quiet) QD you can buy, and you have an excellent stealth smuggling ship for small and light cargo loads. That's what I'd use it for.
The 315P was my first ship, it got me around Stanton and allowed me to dive into delivery missions, light trading, low level bounty missions, and bunker running in a cool amd stylish package. I have since moved on to bigger and arguably better things, but i still have a soft spot for this ship, and i will likely own it again when launch time comes.
Im going to pledge buy it so when launch comes around i can atleast do my delivery and haul runs and work back up to a taurus. I started with mustang regrettably since i was less interested in fighting and more into the non combat side of starcitizen. I might buy this and the nomad since i like both
i love the 300 series but they really need to re-do the layout. there’s no reason we can’t have a shoilet in there, and the racing and combat variant should be more stripped down, lose the wine glass racks for an extra weapon rack, or fit a suit locker in that rear space and put the internal inv slot under the bed. there’s a ton of little changes i’d make to the ship but i do love them.
I agree, it's definitely a cool lineup as it is right now with it's unique customize feature and remarkably robust set of features that only the nomad can match, but shoilet's absence is long overdue (maybe our character's just buy 96 hour deodorant???) and frankly in regard to that customize feature I think it should offer more if someone's cashing in one the whole "luxury" price tag. nothing huge but imo, why can't we swap the wine glasses out with mugs if I want to? and there's way more space on both counter's than any of the options to add utilize, making it such a "meh, why not" afterthought.
You can fit a Pulse if you lay it on its side (tractor beam recommended). The missiles are indeed bugged right now. FYI also, the HUD is also currently broken (as of 3.23) if you customize it through the pledge store; CIG spotted custom owners with a non-custom loaner.
I like the 315 for the reasons you laid out. Speed, good range, low emissions especially if you configure it right and great cargo for the type of ship and it's looks. Easy to fly, and just feels right as a single pilot design. I had the Titan. I love that ship but the interior didn't make sense. If I had only one ship the Titan would be it. But the 315 is better as a daily driver. I have MSR, Connie Andromeda, Carrack as well as a Prospector and Zeus ES. Exploration focus with cargo and mining for easy money. The 315 is the simplest and speediest short haul or in system ship with exploration and cargo roles so I can make money while I travel, where it feels like the others take more effort to use.
Have you completed any of the new hauling missions? Rookie-ranked missions can be plus or minus 12 SCU, which is the sweet spot for their ship. So long as it's 12 scu or lower, you can run the rookie missions without using a Nomad. It's a good ship to get started in the hauling profession. Additionally, it is a good companion for a Vulture to run the twelve 1 SCU boxes back and forth with a friend.
I remember being torn between this and the Avenger when I first got into the game, before the 100 series was even a thing. I actually just got this ship last week, but haven't had a chance to fly it yet. I was planning on using it as my starter cargo ship for 3.24. I already have a loaner C1 (waiting for my Zeus Mk2 CL), and I also have Pirate Edition Caterpillar so I didn't need anything bigger at the moment. What sold me on the 315 was the cargo space and the luxury aspect. I LOVE that "moon roof." I don't PLAN on getting into any fights and I have the Pirate Edition of the Gladius if I want to get into combat on purpose. It is still, honestly, hard to choose between the Avenger and the 315, for me at least. Once the game allows you to permanently keep the ships you buy in game (no more wipes or resets) I'll probably buy both in game. I am honestly disappointed with the fuel capacity for both Avenger and 315, but especially the 315.
This is the ship pledge I kept from back in 2016. The idea was to explore and run away if I got attacked, carry some small expensive cargo here and there, full speed past blockades, log out wherever I want, etc. Just peacefully burn some time away from work/life. Back then the fact it had a jump drive and the ability to scoop fuel from your environment in some capacity was cool. I think the jump drive on just about everything and I think the fuel scooping is probably retconned away. I'm still going to keep it anyways.
It's almost feature complete with its tractor beam. I used my 315 to help load the explosive chemical boxes onto an org mate's Caterpillar during Xenothreat event.
@@Hylanvahr Yeah, I see. It's pathfinding designation and game feature set don't quite match up just yet, for reasons I'm sure you know as well as i do. I'm looking forward to seeing what the scanning package offers. Also I'd love to be able to load my own cargo bay with the tractor.
The 315p was the first ship I pledged for back when I found out about SC. I do really still like it as I am looking forward to the exploration game play. I do think they need to increase the quantum fuel though for it to be a true exploration ship. Even if that means its back down to 8 cargo because when you're mapping a small jump point and fall out of it you need enough fuel to get back if that is the function of your ship.
Maybe they should implement some kind of fuel scooping, like ED, even if it's just on exploration ships. Just like salvaging ships having the depot to produce boxes of recycled material, exploration ships may have something similar and you can scoop some kind of material and when it's enough it is turned into fuel (maybe placed in some tanks that you have to manually move in a "fuel tank" area)
@@ShinigamiGrinIt will be interesting to see what they do, particularly with ships like the Freelancer DUR. I remember when they talked about being able to have that ship make its own quantum fuel before they made that a mineable resource. Hydrogen range doesn't seem to be too much of a factor right now, making scooping it not necessary. It's one of those design questions that's always in the back of my mind.
The 315p was the first ship I bought as my SC pledge, back in 2013. I still have it in my collection and will always keep it. It's my first SC love ❤. Too bad my customised 315p is broken since version 3.22 but at least CIG provided a loaner replacement. Looking forward to -someday- getting the exploration gameplay added to make this ship stand out from the immediate competitors.
Love this ship in Sterling silver I think it was? Punches above its size in terms of Cargo but definitely not a ship for combat. I always thought this was a much better fit for the 890 J. Makes a cracking little drug runner too!!
Always good to see a recent 315p review! When this thing’s finally fulfilling all its intended roles it’s going to be an awesome little ship and it’s not a bad ship now for the gameplay that’s available. I agree, 7/10.
Bro is over here with my favorite armor in the game (I fancy the Shrike blue rib version) and one of the best starter ships. Nice! Something to add to what you were saying, I think in the future, 890j owners will want to have a 315p as their planetside runabout, or for exploring dense asteroid fields too dangerous for the mothership. The 300 series was made to fit the 890 hangar perfectly.
My gripe with the 300 series is the ladder. Iwish they made it stairs or a little elevator. Other than that absolutely love this ship. Got it back in 2013.
I love my 315p and customized to my liking with many options. Unfortunately it´s exactly that customizing that rendered it nearly unflyable in the current patch because of the missing UI elemets showing vital flight information. Edit: Additionally, i would love to see the cargo bay beeing slightly higher. The 1/2 SCU boxes seem to glitch through the roof of the cargo bay.
Fair rating, IMO. I have this ship myself, it used to be a goal ship of mine until the tractor beam was revealed to be kind of junk. 315p will still be useful for 3.24's cargo missions however, and the speed is very nice. Like all of Origin's ships, it needs no small amount of adjustments to bring it up to speed.
I like this ship but for an "Explorer" it has way to less Quantum-Fuel. It should at least have 2000 like a Cutter (not even the Rambler which is a real Explorer in its class)
It’s also much faster and a better flyer than the cutter. It’s an explorer because it has a lot of hydrogen fuel. The hull an isn’t an explorer because it can’t do search patterns without running out of fuel. It’s just good at jumping to an and b. Explorers are made to search
It's too early to say - the game isn't balanced yet. The ship is slated to be a Pathfinder so it's reasonable to expect it will have extended range to be able to do that job. All we have to go on is the description of the ship and its role. The stats in its current form are essentially meaningless at this stage.
@@marcohorodnichev9489 ? The rambler has 3000 hydrogen and 3000 quantum where the other cutters just have 2000 each. They fixed it the next patch, but tbh, because of all the reviews with the wrongful numbers, it damaged the ship in many’s eyes. But yeah. It has 3k hydrogen and 3k quantum fuel now, making it have more fuel than the syulen and the most quantum fuel for a small ship, outside of the hull A
I think you’re the only person who motivates me to go play with some of my ships 😂 Sadly, I melted my 300i and 315p for the 400i just because of the HUD bug (only for customised ones). So annoying. They should definitely fix them. That view is awesome. Don’t even have that on the 400i. I would recommend this ship for anyone’s wanting to explore the verse, fast acceleration and okay DPS too. Very good ship, but the HUD bug NEEDS to be fixed. Great review as always Even 👍
Seeing the MPUV Tractor made me do a double take at the 315p. Quantum drive and faster than the MPUV Tractor you only trade 4 scu underbelly to have 12 enclosed. You can't do 16 scu container under hauling, but you get all the other benefits of an actual ship. This is arguably a better MPUV Tractor only losing in the category of no large container under hauling. Sure it's bigger than an MPUV Tractor, but in cases where you would want to use one such big ships are likely to fit the 315P anyways. BMM/Kraken P etc.
Can someone explain me how to use/activate the tractor beam from the 315P? I tried for half an hour with a friend of mine (he’s playing this game since release) and we couldn’t get it to work on 3.24 PTU 😅 Or is it bugged right now? The Missile Mode is working fine in my 315P btw 😄
I've had it before and really liked flying it, but the cargo was funky. Ended up using the Titan more. In the end , 4,:8 ,12 SCU is not much of a difference
