I like the intrepid, I also really like the titan for beginner bounty hunting. They both have a place in the verse. I can’t wait until the titan gets its gold standard pass.
@@johnnytrongaming whats the Intrepid's place in the 'verse? It is more expensive, slower, fits less sizes of cargo, fewer vehicles, has less shields, less damage, and doesnt fit inside any smaller vehicles than tbe Titan... maybe, MAYBE it will be the smallest ship with an Engineering station... except we dont know what use that is given its a single person ship with already internalized components.... and we dont know that the Titan after its rework, wont have similar amenities. Right now, it has no place in the 'verse unless you have a fetish for blocky, asymetric, and underwhelming ships.
Basically roleplaying Han Solo, crouching, you can deploy (yourself) from and enter the Intrepid from either cargo area - essentially another access/entry point to the ship. And yes, I got one as an additional starter package 🫡
With upcoming Pyro play, the Intrepid has the most modern interior for the upcoming game mechanics. It truly is a ship meant to live out of, even if it isn't suited for all mission types.
Damn... The Avenger needs a major redesign, making the cargo ramp bigger, less steep and unobstructed by the thruster/s, making the landing gear beefier and overall making the ship into a more believable small military transport. And the 300 series needs some updates, like bizjet stairs instead of ladder, component access, more differences between variants (less luxurious interior for 325a and maybe even for 315p, with larger weapons and armor locker for the former, and maybe some scanning/cargo/long-term living related changes for the latter), and honestly, more aerodynamic placement of weapons (and this goes for more fighters... CIG should make something like procedurally genetrated covers for them so any fixed weapon could be integrated in the bodywork. Both ships also need major interior updates. But that is not all. Cutter would benefit from a second entry point and ability to up its cargo capacity from 4 to 8, and as for Intrepid, CIG should have made the cargo bay shielded, or to give it a normal cargo ramp and switch engineering space with cargo.
Something else to keep in mind with Pyro coming - QT fuel capacity! Most of the starters have .5-.7SCU, while the Intrepid has 1.2SCU (120gm range, with the current homogenized drive distances), and the Cutter Rambler (with the camper van top and 2SCU bay) has 1.7SCU. This makes them quite good as both shuttles for quick jaunts across the system (shopping for gear, grabbing a buddy, getting back to a ship you fell out of in QT) as well as long distance courier and small hauling missions. Lovin' how 'get what you feel fits you' stuff's getting, been seeing a lot of variety out there since the patch - free flight notwithstanding!
@@4armedtryhard411 yeah I use to worry a lot about stats. I can almost guarantee you the intrepid and the cutters get a nerf on fuel later as they balance more. Less fuel will end up requiring a more efficient drive but longer times but all still doable. It just won't much matter if ultimately you hate the ship your flying just because it can jump further. My poor titan with only .5scu 😞 I still love it!
@@MrSlvr2000Honestly, wasn't a knock at the Titan! A gal can dream ha, given Crusader's shtick I'd be surprised if its tank got too much smaller, they tend to go further for their respective classes. As for the Rambler, I think range is most of what it has going for it - I could see the other expedition aimed starters getting a buff less a nerf? Wishful thinking all around!
Cutter: Space hobo. low cargo, mediocre weaponry, bad shields, but outrageous health pool. 315p: Gentleman adventurer. Good cargo, good weaponry (once they fix the tractor beam), quick but fragile. Avenger Titan: Hardened space merc. Or, military surplus shopper. Best technically all round now that they've fixed the QT tank. Intrepid: Space LARPer tourist wagon.
I’ve really come around to the intrepid recently. I feel like it will be slept on. Swap out the gun for a ballistic Gatling and you’re good. No ones doing combat with starters, even the avenger really. This is a really good starter for someone with really any kind of established fleet
@@scott1506 I started with the mustang as well. For what I was doing in game when I started being able to fit the PTV in the titan made it great for me for bunkers. Not to mention I was making bank in it when we had service beacons.
I wanted a somewhat all around ship that can carry a good amount of cargo. Traded in a few smaller ships for the C1 Spirit and I love it, but I'm starting to feel like it's a bit wide for a daily driver. Idk but for the small package delivery missions I've done it seems like a bit much at the moment lol.
I don’t know how much the Nomad cost but it can carry a ROC mining vehicle (actually can carry any 4 wheeled vehicle in game) has a lot of cargo good shields and a large missile load but it might be a bit more expensive I don’t remember the cost I actually upgraded a pledge pack to it
@@tincannavy3188 Yep done a few videos on it, great ship and pretty much the best for rock mining and the cheap. Use to burn so much fuel but that been resolved some.
I personally prefer and recommend the Pisces as starter ship. Yes it does not have a bed but how many starter ships end up gathering dust the moment you get another ship. The beauty of the Pisces is that it can fit in a lot of ships and you can spawn the Pisces at vehicle bays on planets. It can still carry 4scu. Yes the ships you described are all good but in the end they will just end up as dust gatherers. The Pisces very useful in later game play. Great video - Subscribed
@@taytaytay871 Thanks for the comment. I can see that be true for a lot especially as we get more gameplay. BUT I have a Ton of ship I bought in game. I fly my Titan literally all the time lol. Throw a box in and just hit up a bunker while I'm running solo.
I've owned the 325 titan and cutter and I still prefer the cutter over everything else. few reasons, anyone shooting down a cutter should feel bad about themselves. it possibly flies better than the others depending on your skill and ability to get out of your own way. cutter might not be the best but it's the most honest. titan is by far the best all around ship.
Honestly the 300 series needs to be buffed a bit and increased in price and size. Imo it should be pushed a a bit more towards a medium class and size of ships so they can make the 100 series less garbage.
I’d say it needs a nerf along with the titan. Change its wing guns to size 2s, keep everything else. Titan needs its wings downsized to 2 too, but slow down its speed. More hp than the 300 and outside of the 325, more firepower, at the cost cargo for the 325. And all of a sudden every other starter makes sense too!
Yeah give them better guns and also upgrade the model to meet the current modeling standards would be nice (honestly fair that it would cost more at that point too)
the only avenger i want is the warlock andyou can still put cargo in a warlock but cant trust it fully sometimes you get a box that wants to eject itsself
@JordanJDJ There will always be some sort of LTI token. That's literally why half the people buy ships IMO. I'm one of them. We also know now that LTI won't mean quite as much as we thought either.
@@MrSlvr2000 for a while all my ships were LTI but my game package. Never really wanted to put any money behind something without LTI. However, I’ve over here way pass concierge’s and have a huge hanger. So I go for LTI. Mostly because I don’t wanna be paying insurance on a huge fleet lol. I’ll probably get tier 3 insurance on a few ships but not my entire fleet.
The best one is the one not shown. The aurora MR. It holds 4 SCU, has decent armament, has a bed, is easy to fly and is cheap ($45). You can use it for box runs and VLRTs until you can get enough in-game money to buy or rent a cutlass black and ROC to mine. Mine to get enough to buy a vulture. Scrape to make megamillions. You could skip some of this and go directly to the Cutty Black game package, but that's $125, which is a lot of money.
Appreciate the input......this was not a what's the best ship video at all. More of a make the best choice for you. I'd rather fly a mustang than an Aurora despite it not having a bed.
315 isnt a real starter the 100 series is the origin starter the intrepid can hold more cargo allowing 8 in the cargo lifts and you can hold 4 more in the walk ways for 12
Intrepid needed a size 5 gun to win me over. Titan for life still. It truly does it all.
