The thin blue line stuck on your wall that shows up in the first 10 seconds. It's a bastardization of the American flag and celebrates police brutality and unchecked police power. It's disappointing that you appear to support those beliefs.
as always I love your videos Rich, what a beautiful smooth airplane right there, if I had the money that is the one I would buy for sure but I'm sure it's going to be nearly a half 1 million. It's worth it.! Excellent management, you make it look easy, I've flown one of those a bit and I remember the biggest thing was power management on the descend and arrival, those ram engines don't like to be jerked around and you have to slowly adjust the mixture. ❤
One of the nicest piston twin to fly. They are great airplanes as long as treat them well, and don't abuse them. We had a C414C before the C421, and we had lower maintenance cost and a better plane with the C421.
The complexity of these modern avionics ,airspace and approach types was really well shown here. Theres a lot going on double checking the correct integration etc...
Hello....Mr , Next time if I need to buy airplane, I will contact and have a question about airplane details from you, please! Sir, My English it's not so good ,I'm So sorry . To long time never speak English.
Hey Rich, so awesome to see Catalina at sunset. That definitely has to be a bucket list flight for me. Been a rough several days here at F70 😢. Two accidents within a week. But I’m looking forward to flying from here to Hemet for breakfast at the end of the month. I really enjoy your videos 😃🤙🏻
Another nice video! Cool looking 421 I hope you find a passionate buyer for it-nice avionics & low airframe. I dig those twin Cessnas: 340, 414, 421 & the Conquest 😊
Ever time Rich you make it look so easy. That to me means your a accomplished professional. I think of professional golfers how if you watch them you think oh I could do that then I try and hit a ball and I shank it.😅
Funny how aircraft from 40 years ago are still very much flying today. When I was flying in the 1980s, I would never think of flying something from the 1940s.
Im in middle of PPL(A) at the moment and we got 421 in hangar here at school . I hope one day i get chance to fly planes like that :) Perfect video thanks for that , safe flights from Czech Republic ! :)
Financing these is becomming almost impossible. Looked at 4 or 5 of these along with 414 over the past year., bank will not loan on any over 50 yrs old which most are approaching and then they want 20% down, the insuance is over $5000 to $8000, and many want the equivalent of 4yrs escrow in bank. 30hours or more of training, for a guy with nearly 10000 hours. Before long your approaching an ability to buy a jet!
Financing is available on a 1982 421C. It’s 41 years old. A mid 70’s 421B which is 50 years old could be difficult to finance, I agree. 20% down is the standard with banks we work with on any airplane regardless of age.
unbelievable modern avionics. What a dream plane for those with the $$$!! I flew a 1972 421B based north of Montreal, Quebec, single pilot, IFR , charters, year round, as far north as James Bay, and all the airports along the St. Laurence. Round dials, autopilot wasn't reliable, one crummy weather day (with a copilot) was 6 NDB approaches to minimums, with a Loc Back Course as the easiest one of the day. No GPS, no VOR RNAV, only a Loran which didn't work as one got up North. Now piston planes have avionics comparable to the Challengers and G IV that I later flew.
Your 421 experience is different than mine. I was a ramp rat at an airport that had 2 of these. I've never seen one start that smoothly. It got the the point where every time I pulled a 421 out of the hangar, I'd wait nearby and kept a screwdriver in my pocket, they'd always need the mechanic, I'd wait so I could go get him. When the AME inevitably started pulling the cowl, the owner would ask if there was an extra screwdriver to speed things up. Still, always thought they were cool planes.
These days it’s going to be difficult to get into a bigger airport without a functioning transponder. You would need some form of dispensation which would take time to get. If the big airport is home base I can see the VFM of a second transponder.
@@FlyingwithRich does the geared engines increase TBO costs I am sure the turbos do. I am asking not to create problems just trying to educate myself. Are the engines fuel injected or carbs?
