The old saying is, it’s easy to build an airplane if you don’t know how. I think that applies to all these comments. Wonderful achievement and beautiful plane.
Truth. Most people can't even design a better paper airplane. Literally, and figuratively. Both the origami kind, or laying out on paper a well designed wing planform, aspect ratio, taper and twist. Along with calculated performance and dimension specifications that are reasonably believable and accurate to textbook methods. Most people can't even calculate e, an aircrafts span efficiency ratio, from widely published data using the well know formula: CDi = CL^2 _______ Pi*AR*e
Different planes man. Not the same. One could respond to your comment with "No way..... PC12NGX ALL DAY LONG". TBMs are nice, but..... Phase inspections, limited service centers, parts availability issues, etc. M Series Pipers are like 172s. Everyone can work on them, insurance companies like them, training is less expensive and more available, and they've been around forever. The TBM is a ridiculously cool plane in its own right, but cannot really be compared to the M Series. It's in a class all its own.
5:50 So... would many pilots choose to let the autoland system land the plane while they're doing CPR in the back of the plane? I don't know if I would trust it that much, it is after all, just a (very fancy) autopilot.
I would. I understand the distrust in the system. Now imagine it was your child that was in medical distress needing CPR. I bet most would hit that button pretty fast.
No discussion of the useful load and payload vs range. Such an important aspect of a plane that is ignored. Also, for this money, the Cirrus jet seems like a much better value.
All airplanes are a compromise. With full fuel your range is 1800nm and payload 565 pounds. Easily carry six people with less fuel, but still enough to fly 1000nm. The old Meridians did have an awful full fuel payload of two people and a backpack. The reality is if you are carrying six people on a regular basis you need a plane with a bathroom. I have the earlier piston PA46 and we fly five people and our dog on 1000nm non stop trips. The efficiency of this airframe is amazing. The interior colors are just yuk on this one.
There are some YT videos where they demo this. I'm guessing that you can disable the radio transmissions for tests/demos, but I don't know how. For instance, maybe you need some sort of "unlock code" to access a special mode that they won't give to customers.
Awsome my mom and dad had a 2016 m500 it was so much fun to fly
Rough life.

A real beauty. Congrats PIPER. ( push to talk/push to land😎)
How does it stop so much faster on landing than the predecessor ?
Much better brakes? Tremendous reverse capability?
Looks amazing!

You can't afford either
This is gonna be about a mil cheaper for similar features.

I totally agree with you.

I have $1,000 and it says "Auto Land" autopilot can land this airplane better than you can.
@@TheJustinJ Oh, no doubt, as I'm not a pilot 😊
That's like a tacky over the top king ranch interior setup. Def will not age well
lol agreed
Yeah, looks like an oatmeal cream cookie
As they point out you can pick the interior.
Lots of manufacturers go with over the top tacky for their demo planes it seems like.
They have very different interiors. Have alook at the M700 brochure and the Laki colour scheme for instance.
Paul Bertorelli, please come back!
Apart from the cockpit glass, this plane looks like it's from the 1970's
I’ve noticed even RVs in 2024 have started using this tacky coloring in the upholstery. It will be short lived.
Right? These are the worst launch colors imaginable.
Horrible colour scheme all round!🤮
Gang, thanks for all the "neg" comments... will greatly help me beat them down on the price!
They know their target market: People reaching retirement age, who grew up in the 1970s.
Great video. Smart aeroplane - I'll order two (one for each mansion)🤔🤭😉💔😀💜✌️
If your plane requires a turn limiter for pre-post flight it’s designed wrong
The M500 panel was soooo much cooler
No discussion of the useful load and payload vs range. Such an important aspect of a plane that is ignored. Also, for this money, the Cirrus jet seems like a much better value.
The Cirrus jet is worse than anything remotely similar. It exists solely for people who want to believe they have a "jet".
The cirrus jet is slow for a jet this is actually a better value for what you are getting
And what about.......you'll be lucky carry 2 persons with a backpack each before MTOW is achieved when tanks are full. What a waste of 4 seats.

This looks slightly better than the PA -28 I had many years ago.
What’s better than a 600 a 700
If only I had won the lottery…
So still a m600 with updated features. M600 is still better
I wonder if you can test the auto-land without its declaring an emergency.
@suspicionofdeceit Yes. The unit make automated radio calls on 121.5 and the CTAF for the airport it intends to land at.
@suspicionofdeceit: Yes, due to automatic radio calls for mayday and request for landing clearance.

One door ?
Yep. And the tiniest amount of room between the seats when attempting to crawl up to the cockpit.
@@rlkinser Can confirm getting into the cockpit requires quite the contortionist performance.
why not the epic e1000gx?
How many magenta lines can I use at 1 time? Jesus Christ. Tesla of the skies.
4.3 and no second engine or parachute. Hmm
Why do you need a parachute?
@@Inspadave Or a second engine?
😍
:)))
When I have my lottery billions I will get mine modified with taller landing gear struts
+3.8 - 1.58 is shit all G’s

Piloting skills be damned - you need an MIS degree.
no shit. Too many nested menus. No wonder private pilots crash in IMC. I'll take the steam gauges and a GPS thank you.
The worst interior design choice I’ve ever seen in this class
Great content in this channel !
Looks like they had MasterCraft design the interior.
Thanks AVWeb. Always look forward to your content.
Doesn't scream 4.5 million to me. Kinda like trying to sell a vw gti for 911 prices. Still a fun car but for that kinda money?
Is it pressurized
Yes. Check the brochure:
www.piper.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/2024_M700_Brochure-web.pdf
Yest it is. Look at the technical sheet at 0:44.
The guy that flew it in said it pressurized to around 8000
Awesome aircraft. That PT-6 is a turbine engine. It has a starter motor. It isn’t a motor!
Sure, but still….semantics
First! What a sweet plane!
Please make a interview at MWfly engines !
Not a great choice for the interior colors. The paint job looks good though.
