As a former UL pilot (650 hours of Pterodactyl time) I can tell you that some kind of enclosure to stick your feet in makes a HUGE difference! I always had to tie my pants cuff off as otherwise wind would blow right up there.

@@Blaircraft.Engines yeah, I guess it would be fine here for the couple of days a year it might be nice weather. Very frustratingly we've had three times the normal rainfall & consistently high winds associated with endless storms & low pressure systems rolling across the country this winter. I'm really fed up with it all & have my fingers crossed things will improve sometime. By the law of averages it has to!!

$5k for brakes seems ridiculous. This is either Part 103 or EAB, which should mean that anything that works is an option. I am certain that motorcycle components or beefed up or redundant high end bicycle brakes would work excellent and at a price far, far lower than what they are quoting. A Honda Goldwing is certainly heavier than that plane will be and I've never heard of a $5k brake job on one of them.

    • @Blaircraft.Engines

The same manufacturer that makes the brakes for the new Cirrus, makes the ones referenced here. They are not necessarily needed, just nice if you want to drop the $$$ They sell wheel/brake kits everyday for 8-10k 😬

    • @Mike-01234

If they sold a kit even quickbuild would be somewhere in the 20k range. Seems like they are targeting the more wealthy people that have toy hauler full of side by sides want something they can just buy and fly without all the FAA hassle. Problem with those types of people don't want to learn the proper way how to fly and end up getting killed. This kind reminds me of the offroad version of the ICON. Compared to a Badland kit cost 16k they offer building it for you also. It also has folding wings its the old kitfox 3 I think they bought the rights to it.
