    Watched a lot of other aviation channels. This one is my favorite by far. Nothing again the other guys. They make good content too. But for someone like myself, who has zero aviation experience other than watching at my local airport, and aviation channels. This one takes the cake. A lot of info all around.

    • @FlyingwithRich

      It’s that LiDAR altimeter. I think is used laser to read altitude similar to a radar altimeter.

    When flying this much in busy airspaces such as socal, are you doing VFR flight following for all these flights or IFR? thanks

    • @FlyingwithRich
      @FlyingwithRich  Год назад +1

      When we can, normally we fly VFR with flight following as usually more efficient than IFR. In the jets, depends on the LA Bravo and if we need to go thru it north to south or vice- versa, in that case IFR, much easier. Thanks for watching!

    Flying two similar airplanes in within hours, the 421 and 414, is there anything worth nothing as far as likes/dislikes between the two? Something that stands out right away moving from one to the other?

    • @TheShays
      @TheShays Год назад

      I have been looking at both, seems like the 421 is quieter, a bit faster, more complex engine gears(expensive)not as good with one engine as 414. The 414 is louder, passengers need headsets. Both burn around 42 GPH(ouch) annual 10K-15K. I am still debating myself.

But maybe its the way I trained or something else, I'm not up to your guy's level of flying yet (working of my CFI) but it might be a better idea to let the guy flying the twin star to climb and get the aircraft situated before asking a bunch of questions from 2 different passengers during takeoff roll and in a critical phase of flight. Taking off from Cable you guys were talking nonstop. I personally would've told my passengers to shut up.
