The two things I noticed. My man Ryan is putting on a clinic with the landings and Rich getting all giddy when that controller came on hahahahah
Great series of videos Rich. Props to Mateo for getting the cameras set up on everything-really liked the wing camera on the M2. Hope you guys have fun in the snow this week.
Nice video. Who else gets to fly airplanes around. More of these and probably talk about the airplanes pros and cons idk more feedback
Living the dream Rich! Three types in a day, doesn’t get much more fun than that 👌
Wow, that is one hell of a 421C nice!
Always good to see Ryan! Happy to see he has his Citation rating!
Agree with all!
Watched a lot of other aviation channels. This one is my favorite by far. Nothing again the other guys. They make good content too. But for someone like myself, who has zero aviation experience other than watching at my local airport, and aviation channels. This one takes the cake. A lot of info all around.
Thank you!
You guys are just too cool. Another fun ride along video. Those Cessna’s are just soooo pretty.
Ryan, don't listen to her....you are an excellent climber! And the idea of starting a YT channel called "Flying Rich Around" sounds like a sure winner. I'd be happy to add to that one!
I think that deficient climb call out was for the Bonanza in front of us, but Ryan got scolded by the same girl earlier in the day. I promised not to tell anyone so that’s as far as I go in public!
Time to take off!! Let’s start talking about if we have eaten at that place!!
Thank you for sharing your flight. So nice!!!!
Loved my grand fathers 414 ram air 3 and 421. Miss flying in and getting to fly those airplanes with him. His 414 is flying charter out of Florida now.
Awesome! Looks like a blast. Almost as fun as my airline gig ;')
Nice 'ferry' day.
Thanks for the rides today!🎉
Great video. Very cool seeing someone on YT other than the Diamond ferry pilots talking about the twinstar and singing its praises.
We love the twinstar! Thanks for watching!
What an absolute pro. Loved when he pushed the props forward right at the last safe second in the 414. I’m getting checked out in the T310R I’ll try and use the 19” and 2400 for blue line see what I get.
Another great vlog guys many thanks for sharing and a great selection of beautiful planes cheers
Thank you!
So great! I’m not a pilot but your videos are so damn interesting. And Ryan lands that Diamond like a boss!
Brings back memories, great job ☺️
Really enjoy your videos. Learnt to fly in Longbeach back in 1995, brings back good memories seeing and hearing some of the places you fly to. Quite different from flying here in Europe! 😊
..thanks again Rich..for sharing all of these incredibly enjoyable .. and extremely entertaining..
flight videos..and please.. keep em coming..
Thank - will do!
15:40. I thought you were a better climber..😂😂😂😂 ATC having fun!!!
That was one of the better one’s I’ve heard from ATC!
Absolute dream!! great video!!
This was just fab. Once again, thank you all. Also, love the music ending (C. Corea/Gayle Moran). Got to be. Keep them coming. Love from Norway, and Barbados tomorrow.
Thank you!
Dang Rich... you almost made it home before 7pm... sorry better luck next time..
Great GA video.
Reminds me of working air charter out of Brisbane Australia post GFC and flight training at the same time; sometimes we'd be in different GA piston aircraft all day. Still some of the best days i remember.
I can watch these videos all day. Thank you for taking the time to share.
Thank you!
Excellent video...Great variety. Lol
Great flying.
Really like your site and it’s getting better!
Thank you!
I would have never imagined back in the early 90’s we would have these type of electronics especially a hand held computer phone. I mean back then if you had a GPS in your plane you were the big sh!t at the airport.😂
yes that is a brilliant idea for multi engine training
Ooooh nice wing cam M2! Great landings Ryan; 19" - 2500 RPM - Blue line, good one Rich.
It works. I wish I came up with it!
Nice stuff. More of these!
Will do. Thanks for watching!
Kind of old school most of the guys I watch like I-pads with foreflight. Great video keep up the good work.
Thank you!
New subscriber! You guys are so bad ass!
Great Flights, churnin Butter! Have a great weekend
Thanks for watching! Have a great weekend!
414 is Tricked out on Avionics!
I got my multi rating a couple of years ago in the Twinstar. The one I trained in had the Lycoming engines though. I really enjoyed the airplane. I think it’s an excellent multi trainer.
Thanks for the feedback!
nice video !
more thanks
Than you!
Your channel really is underrated, I love it and you need way more subscribers!
Thank you!
Yes!! You guys should do it!
Coming soon!
Smooth landings 👌🇰🇪
Start my 414A Exactly the same way. Nice looking plane, flight deck almost exactly like mine.
Awesome airplane! Thanks for watching!
Big yes on multi trainer for the 42
"I thought you were a better climber" OUCH! That was hi-larious. I don't think I've ever heard a controller phrase it in such a personal way. I wonder if she had a little snicker to herself as she said that?!
Me neither - that was cold!
Love the cabin class twin cessna.
Me too. So happy to see a strong market for them and people continuing to upgrade them!
Looked like a super fun day!!!
It was fun!
Man…that looks like a fun day. Super jealous.
Fun day!
I love watching your videos, it's like flying with you!
Thank you!
always fun watching Rich zip around SoCal.........
Fun day to see the variety of airplanes.
Thanks!
I’m working on obtaining my PPL. Once done, I would love to come to SoCal to get a multi engine rating. Great video Rich!
Thanks! Come do it with us!
What a fun day! From where I’m sitting, your lifestyle looks awesome, 🤩 flying cool airplanes all over sunny SoCal! I'm seriously wondering what it would take for me to be able to join you, even though I'm from Canada.
FADEC humor: I’d rather do 6 legs with 2 levers than 2 legs with 6 levers. Haha!
Landing gear … check. Airport restaurant … check!
Nice one guys,....great camaraderie...
Luck to work with great people - thanks for watching!
Rich: "Have we eaten there?"
Ryan (internally): "Rich, I'm taking off right now."
Love that DA-42. You guys have great jobs. I'm jealous.
It was a purposeful distraction to see if he would tell me to shut up!
@@FlyingwithRich 😂
Hey Rich, when you’re talking to clearance at LGB, ask for flight following to your destination. They’ll get you a local area squawk code (02xx) and that’s one less thing socal has to do on initial check in. Thanks for the vids!
Thanks for the tip!
Great video! Currently looking to get my multi commercial and upgrade to a mustang!
We will have a program for you soon!
COOL!!!
Nice flying! I would be interested in a multi engine rating in so cal maybe next year. Working on my commercial this year owning my own company. Flying a 2016 TTx currently. M2 is my current dream plane.
Look forward to seeing you on SoCal!
Rich I’m always looking to flying with my favorite the 414 A and the one that cost more in maintenance is the 421
crazy how much quieter the da42 is than the 414
Double the power, double the noise, double the fun!
Thanks for flight Rich
And Ryan
Thank you!
You should definitely offer the multi rating in a da42
Interested in the multi engine rating. Will be getting that soon.
In the process of getting my comm muilti in a da-42. I sought out a flight school with a da42 since all my experience thus far has been in old school /u planes
How do you like it?
Busy day rich, great fun im sure what are the fuelspecs and speeds for the twin star plane, thanks cheers and stay well
what a job for any G.A pilot i envy u guys
Hi Rich, love the videos, please keep them coming! I own a 421C; what a great airplane. Quick question, what equipment is making the altitude callouts as you were approaching the threshold from 50ft, 40, 30 down?
It’s that LiDAR altimeter. I think is used laser to read altitude similar to a radar altimeter.
It's a great idea for getting a multi to move up to a jet
Fast ships 😎
It would be great for that. It would also be good for getting a commercial multi *wink*
👍👍👍👍👍
Looks like a great day of flying! Did I hear correctly, all that and only 10 gallons of fuel in the twinstar? I’m going to need to learn more about that aircraft! Looks like a great aircraft for multi training and the company transport. Just not as good a performer as some might like 😉. Thanks for the great content.
Great airplane and flying. Yes it really sips the fuel!
I love this 421. We are upgrading the avionics on our 421 soon, and this is exactly what we want. Who did the avionics work? Thanks for the great videos.
Thanks for watching! Mayday Avionics in Grand Rapids, MI did the work - Beautiful job. If I was doing an upgrade of that magnitude, I would take it to them - all the way from CA!
OCR Aviation Long Beach, CA
Watching that DA-42 taxi out after dropping you guys off I wonder how narrow the lanes are with those long wings.
No problems yet, but definitely long wings - thanks for watching!
Of all the planes in this video, I prefer having the DA-42-VI (however, I would swap the M2 for a Phenom 100).
Interesting way to spend the day flying. Do you use laminated Checklists for the different planes?
I typically use whatever is in the aircraft. Sometimes laminated, sometimes straight from the POH/AFM. Thanks for watching!
Is the R in OCR, Rich? How’s that daughter doing? Is she eventually going to follow in the old man’s footsteps? Is Ryan near airline time yet? Thanks!
Good idea as a multi trainer especially if you have a DPE onsite. Let me know if you proceed.
Will do - thanks for feedback!
When flying this much in busy airspaces such as socal, are you doing VFR flight following for all these flights or IFR? thanks
When we can, normally we fly VFR with flight following as usually more efficient than IFR. In the jets, depends on the LA Bravo and if we need to go thru it north to south or vice- versa, in that case IFR, much easier. Thanks for watching!
Flying two similar airplanes in within hours, the 421 and 414, is there anything worth nothing as far as likes/dislikes between the two? Something that stands out right away moving from one to the other?
I have been looking at both, seems like the 421 is quieter, a bit faster, more complex engine gears(expensive)not as good with one engine as 414. The 414 is louder, passengers need headsets. Both burn around 42 GPH(ouch) annual 10K-15K. I am still debating myself.
Great idea to have clients visit LB to get Multi Cert. How long would you need people there?
We’re thinking 4-5 days depending on proficiency.
Love the videos Rich, keep up the good work. But maybe its the way I trained or something else, I'm not up to your guy's level of flying yet (working of my CFI) but it might be a better idea to let the guy flying the twin star to climb and get the aircraft situated before asking a bunch of questions from 2 different passengers during takeoff roll and in a critical phase of flight. Taking off from Cable you guys were talking nonstop. I personally would've told my passengers to shut up.
Thanks for watching!
I wish I was you. You are my idle.
Finnie is a lot cooler than me!
Im selling my B55 P2 at the moment and soon to be in the market for a 421C. Do you guys do pre buys and/or transition training?
Yes - give me a call!
@@FlyingwithRich awesome will do this week!
They all fly the same. Pull back and they go up. Pull back some more and they go down.
It beats driving for uber
Coming from a pilot and part time Uber driver.. I agree lmao
Me too! Nothing against Uber - I use it all the time!
Can fly yo indonesia
Rich, that was 27 minutes of aviation porn, what I would have given to have spent that day with you guys!
Thank you!
I thought the DA-42 could climb better than that.
We were heavy!
RPMs
Twins are RPMs.
