Today on The Skid Factory, Al & Woody Pickup their new project car that's receiving a Skid Factory overhaul.
Scott's car has been used as a Sunday driver for over 10 years and Al has always had his eye on it. The time has come to treat it to a new heart so the old Red motor is removed and the freshly built iron lion is fitted in place.
Huge thanks to all of the Companies that have supplied parts for this build!

please make the shirt "I'm not complaining. Because no one is listening"
the most skid factory thing I have ever heard.
Use Ya' Brain still wins tho :D
This is such a regular saying in the north of Sweden haha!
@@deeze67 isn't that a hat already tho? Perfect combo for skids at the rounda bout in me Ute
Congratulations Woody, you've got Al saying "Iron Lion" without prompting!!
"some of them just have a light to tell you when the engine is already melted to the ground"
i laughed way too hard
Really liking the drone flyover shots, nice addition
That intro was the perfect start to another epic build on this channel! I love it! :D
What a beautiful Rhodesian Ridgeback Rumby is
my vote is more rumby in future videos and rumby merch.
@@markgallagher0000 He's mine (Al). We have had a few including a litter of 14 pups of which Rumbles was one.
@@theskidfactory Is that where you got Woody?
I'm a Rhodesian too, but not quite as cute.....
@@theskidfactory Nice. I've had many dogs in my life, but never a Ridgeback. However, they are a beautiful, loyal and protective dog. And Rumbles looks awesome. My best mate Jack is 16 now. He's a Cattle dog with a bunch of other stuff in him. He's near deaf and his back legs aren't what they used to be, but he's lived an adventurous life. Dunno what I'll do when he goes. He was the son of one of my other dogs and his mother was my soulmate's girl. He's more a son than a pet.
Geez! everyone needs a mate like Al and Woody!... Generous blokes
That look on Al's face with that first drink............priceless!
Al’s face at the Iron-Bru 😄 Scotland’s hangover cure.
My favourite thing about skid factory is that if it doesn’t need it for that particular application it doesn’t get added. Simplicity better than over engineering. Bare minimums easy to fix easy to install. Shit hot fellas 🇦🇺🙌🏽
You're not taking the Kingswood, I just ironed the mudflaps.
I just polished the dipstick!
i just Pea Beued the bumper bar
I just shampooed the battery
Omg that Drone shot been up and down that road so many times, love the Sunshine Coast, and the restaurants at Sunny Beach are awesome especially Mooska
Sum Yung Guys is the best. *Homer Simpson Drooling*
To anyone not familiar with it, look up " Kingswood Country" on youtube. This will give you a good idea of your average Kingswood owner/family and a great snapshop of Australian life in them days.
Agreed. Everybody had a family member like ted in the 70,s . A red holden 6 in a kingswood with vinyl seats is probably the most australian car ever built. They need to recieve a mention in the Australia Day honour list.
money on the fridge wog ......
Bugger me, in hospital again....Mostly feeling ok but a bit of anxiety tonight...Had a kidney transplant 34 years ago and this visit is related to that....But just like last time i was here The Skid Factory, M C M and BCW have all been great to keep my mind occupied....Have loved all three channels since they started
Your not taking the Kingswood, I've just waxed the tow ball !
Lots off good times as kids in the 70's kick fighting in the back seat with my sister until the arm of calm would come over the front seat !
DON'T MAKE ME STOP THE CAR.
The cringe on Al's face when he said iron lion was priceless. Cool car, great videos guys!
“KINGS-Wood” - David Freiburger Dragweek 2019
The.... Kings-wood. It was pretty funny listening to them throughout the drag week cracking each other up with this joke, can,t wait for next year.
@@keevasmybitch wut its already been to dragweek?
Keevasmybitch heck yea ahaha I died every time they started talking about it
Fryingpan no Not tho car but another one was on dragweek look it up
Skid factory just got even better... workshop dogggggggg. The internet loves...... neeeds animal stars like this.
Thanks Woody and Alan. Love seeing the and custom work and effort you guys put into the builds
Delighted you guys got to taste Irn-Bru, My Favourite, born and raised on it 😂
My parents had the HZ 308 sedan in the late 80s when I was a young fella. I still remember jumping in it on a hot north Queensland summer's day and burning the shit out of your legs. Lol
Chi3f9 nine so did mine 308, 4 speed and GTS dash.
Also bought in the late 80’s did plenty of summer holidays in it, black vynal interior made it particularly unpleasant
Ouch dude same here, and with sunburn after a day at the beach, nasty stuff.
Yeah, the buckles on the seatbelts, too.
I was thinking it was a 308, where did they get the idea that it was the American 304
@@stephenhunter70 watch the 304 build and fabulous secrets will be revealed to you. Hint: it involves getting around certain ATCC rules back in the day
So many memories from my childhood! The seats which got to a million degrees in summer, the ribs on the tail-gate & its wind-down window, even the seals around the doors & the dome light. Ours was gold, and called 'the golden holden', twin-pipes & tips.
Laughed at Al's "Thing" impersonation when the radiator went in!
Im so glad to see you are finally doing a kingswood. I have 3 of the old girls, all red 202's with trimatics. HZ, blew the head and melted the engine to the road so to say, still got the body. HX, schmick 50th anniversary and my pops HQ 25th premier. Love the old girls so much.
Good to see a proper Aussie car on the channel. I’ve sold off a bunch of my H Series lately but kept the 2 Favourites, FLamenco Red HZ Sandman and Palais White HZ GTS.
Awesome.
Project Binky reaches far and wide with bracket influence! Nik will be proud.
This is hands down the best show on the internet or TV. Thank you guys for all the hard work you put in to share it with us. God bless.

Al's face at the tasting of the lemon squash :D also my favorite tool in the world, the impact screwdriver was featured. great episode!
Only 144k subscribers share the skid factory people these boys deserve more credit. Absolute champions
I brought one of these off an elderly family member when I was a teenager.
Always wondered why the tailgate was so heavy so we pulled the inner panel out to reveal the tailgate was filled with concrete as a rust inhibitor.
Love seeing these older builds keep it up boys
Nice to see my country's national soft drink featuring!
Hell yes. My old man had a xa falcon 500 wagon when I was a nipper. And one of these as a painters wagon
Not a V8, but an XA wagon was the first car we had when I was a wee lad too. With the wind down back window.
@@AfferbeckBeats the old seat belt buckles that were as efficient as a cattle brand
Props to you for paying the proper tribute to a fine specimen of station wagons. It does look well kept after. Great video. ✌️😎
Watching the guys driving through town right beside the beach makes me wanna move there. Awesome landscape
This is great, I've almost the same car. Hearing the 202 driving brought back some memorys
I actually did my L plates and then P plate driving test in my parents HJ 308 Statesman Deville, same color as that wagon (Chamois?). Good memories of that old thing.
Good to see you’re sticking with the Holden V8 in his upgrade, each engine has their place but it makes a nice change.
Enjoyable video, thank you and can’t wait for the next installment
My favorite Skid Factory car so far! Awesome
Such a clean build. Engine just looks right in there.
Great to have you back
YUS! taken me back to being a lil fella on long family trips in the Kingy wagon...you guys just keep on killin it-love it
A Kingswood Wagon was my first car. I remember the fuel stain running down the side. They were a PITA to refuel - kept "blowing back", and you had to fill very slowly to stop this happening. All the while the knee joints are protesting at the crouching. And 24c per litre for Super!
Allen, your fab skills are AWESOME!! Truly amazed every time you make parts.. Great vids!!!
I love watching these guys the information they tech us is beyond amazing thank you so much you lads have helped me so much so many times
Great to see another build and can't wait to hear it roar
First V8 I ever drove was my aunties 308 HZ Premier resplendent in gold, it was so slow but sounded really good.
Told the old man I wanted a V8, he gave me an XE esp with a worked 351 and I stacked it within the week, my ass hurt longer than I owned it lol
I always though they were talking about beer when they referenced lemon squash. So I Googled it and says it's pop/soda.
They are taking the piss. It is beer
SOLO. Low of fizz so you can slam it down fast! But yeh that's the joke, they are talking about beers.
google kirks lemon squash can then google xxxx beer can and itll all make sense
Ah huh. Makes sense now.
good tunes good people awesome projects you guys never let us down.
Never get sick of watching you legends work 😎👌
So happy to see regular programming returning without bow 😍
Great show boys, it was great catching up with you boys and was a shame the roll racing was cancelled Woodrigos, we were looking forward to watching the Bedford :)
The Holden Trimatic gearbox was chosen by Rolls Royce for their cars so they bought the rights from Australia. When they tried to put it in their cars, it did not work.
Rolls Royce contacted the Australian manufacturers to find out why. The response was to ask what RR had done, they were told that RR had built the box exactly to specifications which they were told was the problem. RR was told to get rough & work on the basis that near enough is good enough which they proceeded to do. The result was that the box worked perfectly.
During WW11 RR sent aircraft engines to the US to be used in aircraft there. The engines were assembled & didn't work so the Septics contacted RR to complain. When RR asked what the Americans had done, they were told the engines were removed from their packaging & assembled. RR told the Yanks that was their problem- the components needed to be polished before assembly!
Always love the tunes you boys use for your vids! Keep up the awesome work! 🤙🏼🤙🏼
Love the show from the start the camera work is getting better and better every show, keep up the good work 👌
That loom is gorgeous!!!
Gaaaaahh, you guys were in AZ and I missed you?! I've learned so much about cars from you guys and MCM and very much owe my passion for cars to you. Thanks for putting out great content and hopefully I'll catch you next time you're in the states!
Awesome guys. Love your work inspires me to get out in my shed.
What a cool old wagon. Nice work guys
Keep up the great work Al and Woody
Any shop with a Cosmo Kramer portrait on the wall is a good shop! 👍
Good on ye for getting the irn-bru on the go lads, cracking stuff!!
My kids used to love to ride in the 'backa back" I owned a HJ can even remember the rego number from it, even now some 35 years later. I just loved that car!!
That motor in that engine bay 👌🏻😍 what a sick cruiser!
Loved your reaction to full fat Iron Bru. Great show cheers James from Scotland,
I learnt to drive in a HQ Kingswood station wagon with a 253 thongslapper and a traumatic gearbox. In the end, it ended up getting a GTS dash and a T-bar auto with the centre console. I so miss that car and the memories and wish to get a HQ station wagon so I could build my own vision of what I wanted to do to the old girl.
thank you Turbo Yoda ive always follwed yoiur channel ever since ya started as skid factory
class seeing the IRN BRU !! great vid lads !
Awesome video today guys
I’ve always wanted a hot rod wagon. Can’t wait to see this one do some skids.
Love the sunny coast, miss it heaps.
Same here, used to live on Bribie Island and often visited the sunny coast, many memories!
Hi from Scotland. Irn bru is the national drink here.
Another channel that gets an automatic like. Already know it's going to be good. The skid factory is the shiz. Never missed a video.
Beast....well done guys. .great content
AL you crack me up, love the show.
Amazing job Al!
When i was a lad the builder i worked for had 4 kingo wagons. 253 x 3 on the tree. They replaced them every 3 years, the HQ 253s gave trouble as the guys were used to cast iron intakes and the adelaide water would destroy them in 12 months
That’s so cool man. Turbo Yoda having an Irn Bru!!!!
And his reaction, sooo accurate.
It’s not the same since the UK sugar tax came into force.
Mind you they did remove nearly half of the 14 tea spoons of sugar in a 330ml tin.
Keep up the great work.
Its so pretty! My folks had a gold one. Tan vinyl interior. No A/C. The PTSD is real.
What you have is an HJ Kingswood Deluxe. That triple cluster instrument panel was standard on these, and of course the Premiers had them too. The HJ was the only one with the "fan sweep" speedo, as all others had "normal" instrument clusters
Sweet build.
Ive dreamt you do the Kingswood Justice... Thank you... Dream come true... Bring back Kingswood.
It's beautiful!!!!
"Not the Kingswood. I've just Glad Wrapped the number plates"
Ted Bullpit
Beautiful ridgeback!
Bro I legit felt my heart skip a beat when you sped up the video while you were dropping the tranny. I thought for a split second, your jack had shit itself and it was falling!
Awesome video and excellent content
This takes me back to my dads old red hq wagon with velvet red interior thing was comfy af
Nice too see some new tools and dacka dacks in the shed👌 maby a aircon next 😊
You should call it the LION KING , Looking forward to this build
"It's got, like, a carby. Remember those things?" 'Nup' 😁
I was born in '85, my parents cars for my entire childhood were fuel injection. It helps they drove Volvos, which were more or less purely fuel injection since the mid '70s. The only carbureted vehicle I had to deal with was the pickup truck I inherited from my grandpa, which was a Dodge Ram with a propane conversion 318 V8... the slowest damn thing I've ever driven and really sketchy to start when it's -30 degrees.
I wonder how many people knew what the manual impact driver was. Dont see them much anymore. Very handy tool
Wow that thing brings back memories of my childhood. I specifically remember the rear window winder for some reason.
Michael Beattie they were prone to snapping and over time the winder grinds and arc into its housing
Great vid boys you absolute units
The fuel injectors on my Chevrolet LS1 V8 engine in my VY Commodore are rated at 28 lb hr (294 ccs per minute) @ 58 PSI or 24 lb hr (252 ccs per minute) @ about 40 PSI,they are good for about 370 hp which is what mine puts out !
I love Al's welding style.
A big Lion Dog and Irn-Bru, it doesn't get any better!
The first mod I did was power steering. Not only does it make it easier to turn the wheel, it changes the ratio from 21:1 to variable 16:1
It is a written Law: The Light is in your face, and commands your attention. A guage only works when you look at it after hearing a knock. Therefore, The Light is your best friend! Don't knock It!
"SEMA ready!" @ 26:47
Thanks Woody :)
Hell yeah brothers!!
