  • HOW I MAKE MY VIDEOS
    For my indoor RUclips videos I currently use these tools that I feel give excellent results and a very simple workflow.
    📷 Camera: Sony ZV-E1 amzn.to/3oBzYsc and XLR-K3M handle amzn.to/3ONbTJH
    🔭 Lens: Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN Art amzn.to/3owvJyh
    🎤 Microphone: Sennheiser MKH-416 amzn.to/45FbQpu
    💡 Light: Godox SL60W amzn.to/42gcNBq with a Godox SB-UE 80cm softbox amzn.to/3qmrxBu
    📷 B-camera: Sony ZV-1 amzn.to/3MEO449
    💻 Editing: Macbook Pro M2 with Final Cut Pro
    🎶 Music: Epidemic Sound: bit.ly/mwepidemic
    For outdoor filming I prefer a small and simple setup that makes filming myself very easy and fast.
    📷 Camera: DJI Pocket 3 creator combo amzn.to/3GxPwm3
    🦵 Monopod that I use as a tripod: Benro A38FD amzn.to/42ibbY1

    Do you live near Milano or Bergamo? Are you into insect photography? Then I would like to ask when “insect season” starts in this area? When do you start seeing lots of bees, flies, stinkbugs and other common insects? Beginning of March? Sooner? Later? Would like to return here as soon as insect season starts!

    Eh, i like them both. Fuji i think is more of a fun filters jpeg shooter being that's its focus on the classic film they made, Ricoh is just a "city" safe badass pocket cam that can make a walk around town enjoyable . Jealous of them both, lol.

    I went through this same process and kept the Ricoh. I initially bought an X100v. It was nice and I loved the form factor and viewfinder, but something about the images left me a bit unsatisfied (Sony A7r IV is my main camera). I then bought a GRIII to compare and was really impressed and preferred what I saw from the Ricoh over the Fuji. There's definitely a "coolness" to the Fuji that I miss, but I'm really happy with the GR as my alternative to when I don't want to take my Sony out. I was also able to sell the X100v for more than I bought it for so that helped too, lol.

    The X100 is certainly a nice camera. But it has a very big problem: it is not compact. In my opinion, a "compact camera" that is not compact is pointless.
    I'd rather take the X-E4. It's smaller, lighter and cheaper with a pancake. And I can use all of my Fuji lenses on it.
    That's why I have a GRiii. But I would buy a successor to the X70 immediately. Or even a successor to the XF10. Why isn't Fuji making those? And I don't understand why no one other than Ricoh makes small cameras with large sensors. I'm sure these would sell well. I often don’t take my big cameras with me. I always have the little Ricoh with me. And I know many others feel exactly the same.

    Never buy a camera with a zoom in/out lens, they derail very often.

      @rem792 8 месяцев назад

      That's so true but "never" is a bit much, it has its purpose however the reason why I don't want one is because of the dust issues Rikoh cameras have. That mechanism pulls air in and you can't just clean it like an interchangeable lens camera, it's much more difficult.

    If I were to get a pocket size Camera, then it have to be the Sony RX100VA. if it is about image quality and it have to be compact, then my Sony A7RIV with Sony Carl Zeiss Sonnar 35mm 2.8 T* ZA.

    Great video, thank you.
    1. It seems unfair to compare 2 cameras where one has image stabilization and the other not. Other Fujifilm cameras do have this feature.
    2. White balance problems with Fujifilm. This raises the question of warranty and repair, international warranty, quality of repair, repair turnaround times. Suppose you're on a photo-taking holiday, your camera breaks. It cannot be repaired in under 2 weeks. So you buy a new camera for your holiday to find that when you return to your home country your warranty might not be valid. Caveat emptor.

    I always love your videos. I don't know why but i love the fuji shots. ❤

      I think the Fuji shots looking really nice is mostly due to the light. I shot them later in the day, almost in the golden hour. The Ricoh shots look a bit duller because I shot them in the middle of the day.

    I wish Fujifilm would make 40mm or 50mm equivalent options of x100 series.

    X100v is due for an update. Sell while there’s massive demand and await the spec for the new Fuji X100?

    Very keen to get that 40mm FOV GR! Alas, it never seems to be in stock when I have spare cash.

    You didn't mention whether your style of photography can take advantage of the leaf shutter on the X100 for high speed synch.

    • @MicaelWidell
      @MicaelWidell  8 месяцев назад

      Didn’t know it has a leaf shutter. But no, I don’t use this kind of camera with flash personally.

    I need a viewfinder! 😢

  • @MichaelGerrard
    @MichaelGerrard 8 месяцев назад

    I see the X100V as a complete package. Tilt screen, flash, view finder, 35mm lens that even has 50 and 70mm crop modes.
    The Ricoh GR3 is more specifically a compact camera for your pocket. I see them as very different in their focus. Keep them both! 🙂
    Another downside for the GR3 is lack of sealing. There is the problem of dust. I can't get a firm understanding from RUclipsrs on how bad it really is. Some put extra filters on the lens making the camera size and shape like the X100V (nearly). Maybe in a future video you could tell us how the GR3 has been in this regard.

    • @MicaelWidell
      @MicaelWidell  8 месяцев назад +4

      If I had noticed problems with dust on the Gr3 I would for sure have mentioned it. Never had these issues at all. And I’ve been using GR2, GR3 and a GR3x for years now.

    • @MichaelGerrard
      @MichaelGerrard 8 месяцев назад

      Thanks. Maybe this whole dust on the sensor thing is overblown.

    Fuji all day long must be crazy even thinking of the Ricoh over Fuji, i would even take my Fuji X-T2 over Ricoh not even a close match. The weight shouldnt even come into it your a man im sure you can manage a few extra grams lol. anyway love your videos. i love my Fujis X10/X-T2/X-T5. was this just an excuse to make a video :)
