I really appreciated this video. I first heard of daiwabo fabrics about 7 years ago and I bought a few yards to try and understand what they were. As you mentioned in the video, I kept looking at them, and feeling them and keeping them separate because they were so precious (and pricey!) and there they sit in my stash untouched in a place of honor.
That doesn't seem to me like what the intention is with these beautiful pieces. The want to be used and this video has given me enough information to serve as a foundation to begin searching for a project where I can actually experience what these fabrics were intended.
I'm also smiling at what you did for your daughter-in-law...how kind of you!
Now, I'm off to explore and get busy. Thank you!

Excellent video! Very interesting information! I speak little english but you speak so clearly that I could follow the whole of the explanation. Very didactic. Thanks for sharing your knowledge! Hugs from Argentina.

I had never heard of Japanese Taupe. I am going to get the books mentioned and look for the fabric. Always in quilting we need to try something new. Love the applique wall hanging. Thanks for the complete description and range of earth colors.

Looks very much like the inside bark of the Palm and Eucalyptus Trees around here. Interesting Japanese taupe is very close to American Primitive folk quilting and applique.

Thank you for this wonderful video. As someone else mentioned, it is very informative. I've only recently, very timidly I might add, gotten into quilting and stumbled onto Japanese taupe fabrics. This really speaks to me and I may have found my comfort zone. Anyways, you are a great speaker. Thank you again.

I've been looking for these fabrics......I saw them many years ago at a Sewing Expo and fell in love with them but because of the price I had to pass at the time and now I haven't been able to find them....any suggestions?
