Regarding the Oprah interview: I can totally understand that one wants to clear things publicly after having experienced a massive public character assassination. Even if I would try to clear family things in family in order to not destroy anything in an unreparable way. But also here: We do not know what happened.
Comparing herself to the Little Mermaid was absolute GOLD. She has the emotional maturity of an 8 year old. Crying, pouting and beaching that "nobody ever asks how I am", and "nobody taught me the national athem", and "nobody protected me from the press and the coverage wasn't FAIR" was so embarrassingly CHILDISH of her. I cannot believe that she's never run across somebody in her 40 years on this earth who hasn't put her in her place and and told her that the world does not revolve around her and that she's not the most important person in the room. She's a childish spoiled, immature narcissist who uses people to get what she wants, tosses them aside like trash and then moves on to the next big thing. Harry was a mark & she played her narcissistic mind games with him from the very beginning (lying about reporters breaking into her house in Toronto, wearing Diana's favorite perfume on their first date and lying about wanting to kill herself). She's not only a narcissist she's also a sociopath.

Aside from her genetic traits, her father cultured her narcissistic personality by giving her everything far beyond his financial capacity even if it drove him to bankruptcy. She grew up in high society environment which she thought it was her world.,

I don't have any reason to think PC is racist anymore than anyone else but he and Harry have a very damaged relationship going back many, many years. She seemed to be doing quite well with them and spoke sweetly of her day with the Queen. But Harry has been saying that he wanted out of the RF since he could talk. I personally have been a victim of narcissism my entire life. From parents to lovers and partners. Well, he does these videos without the celebrity angle but the number of viewers to those most excellent educational videos is far less than the ones that allow people to hide their own addiction to hatred and self-righteous grandiosity behind a public figure they can pin it all on. In this whole mess, I feel most sorry for William,losing his only sibling in addition to losing his Mom. Harry said in the O interview that he felt bad that his father and brother were “trapped” in their set roles. I can see that. Now William goes it alone without the only person who understands the burden that was set out for him.
I don't feel sorry for him. He chose this, and chooses to remain. He wrote that book, and continually bashes his family. Meghan can't be blamed for all of it.
If you’re going to marry a Royal from a different country you should study that culture, language and people (traditions). Just because it’s a similar language in this case it’s still a different culture, different status different expectations. This isn’t a Disney story, these are real people.

@@Guyzemail I know I would too. American’s concept of marrying royals is more akin to Disney and they live happily ever after. That’s why it’s important to do the research first. I watched the British news and at one point the reporter commented that Meghan got into the wrong side of the car and held her purse on the wrong arm; who knows these things...people in that culture. My brother was in the armed forces and every time they had to study culture before they went to a different continent. You can mistakenly offend someone by a gesture or term when you’re not familiar with that country. You don’t mean to but it happens. Hopefully someone politely tells you and you don’t repeat the error.

Absolutely! MM seemed to expect that being a princess would be like it is in the Disney movies, which is rather an odd (very immature) expectation to have, imo! I’ve never lived in the UK, but I had a fair idea of the amount of work the royals have, simply from the little that I’ve observed of them.
Either way, if I was engaged to a prince, I would be researching as much as I could to find out what my job would involve (because, yes, you are taking on a job when you join the royal family).
I would also have expected Harry to help her with a lot of the things she was complaining about. I would never have expected someone else to teach me the national anthem. The Internet does that type of thing quite well!
You also have to be prepared to fit in and follow the rules when you join such an old, traditional institution, where each person’s behaviour reflects on the institution as a whole.

That is not shocking to you or to anyone. So, let's give up the distortion already. Harry's mother was literally chased to her death and they couldn't breathe without cameras flashing at them. Anjelina and Brad couldn't walk outside with their small children and here you will find the people who live off this stuff and if that's not enough, let's distort what has been said so we can revel in even more hate. That is what it is plain and simple. Millions of people pay no mind but you are bothered to the point of personal attachment to the righteousness and anger this allows you to vent. Exactly like those people at that school who were so amazed that it all imploded on them.

I knew Harry a while back, and what's good about him is, that he seems like a nice ordinary guy and has a common touch. What lets him down is; he's no rocket scientist and gaps in his knowledge make him naive in ways, where he's easily swayed by people who don't have his best interest at heart.

When the Duke and Duchess moved to Canada to stay, it made sense to me that they wanted to get away from the press. When they moved before the end of March to Los Angeles it was clear that they only came to Canada because the Canadian Government was obligated under law to pay their protection as Senior Royals. The Canadian governments responsibility to pay for their protection ended on March 31st. Frankly, I felt used by them and so did many Canadians. The money that was used to pay for their "holiday" in Canada could have fed a lot of hungry people.

Having been in a relationship with a narcissist I can't help but see him in Meghan. Harry has been convinced he was trapped, educated about his privilege and his unconscious bias and has been successfully separated from his friends, his family, his job and his country and is entirely emotionally dependent on Meghan. There is history of discarding husbands, friends and family when it suits - and it is never her fault. Actors are not generally known for being emotionally well balanced - but they do love attention. Threats of suicide, deliberate evocation of Harry's mother, zeroing in on Harry's vulnerability (narcissists are good at spotting your weak spot) are how she gets her 'supply' from Harry. She claims to be a strong empowered woman but then tries to elicit sympathy by being a victim who wasn't supported and crumbles after just a few months in the job so her self image is at odds with reality. She cannot deal with criticism and has zero resilience. The interview itself I noted that most of it is completely focused on her, he joins later like a secondary figure. When he says something off script she interrupts him. Doing an interview like that was completely unnecessary and designed to deliberately put a bomb under the royal family. They said the press was the problem but spent the interview slagging off Harry's family. The arrogance of this and complete lack of concern for the consequences is staggering. It just screams narcissist to me.

What bothered me most about this interview was Harry's telling the world that his father had not responded to his phone calls and that his father and his brother were trapped in their life styles. I do not object to his opinions and feelings regarding these things, but his gross immaturity in letting millions of people know about it. Family feuds should be handled privately. This is not a reality TV show. Harry knew his grandfather was gravely ill; he knew his remarks would hurt, and he must have known that airing them on an Oprah interview would not resolve their family issues. Hope his only sibling (with whom he has shared so much) can forgive him someday. The problem with family is that you only have one family. Be careful what you say, publically.

The trouble with making statements/admissions like that about others is that there is no real way to validate the truth in what is said. Harry saying that his father and brother were "trapped" in their lives as royals might have been a way of further justifying his actions.

It seems Harry was too desperate to marry and knowing she was an actress he probably thought she was big in Hollywood so he thought this was his way out that he could move in with her. So when he said his father and brother were trapped now he is the one really trapped with two kids. He perhaps never will think divorce because Meghan will take him to the laundry. So he has to walk a straight line. If money isn't coming in he will get the same results as the first husband.

It is a commonly discussed issue within all races of people. Sometimes not in a kind way. But I agree it is sometimes in an innocent way. Megan who is Biracial has probably never had to deal with issues of skin color because she is very lacking in melanin. So that is probably why she took it to be a racist remark exclusively. On the morning of the Weddings of all British princes, the Monarch performs a FORMAL CEREMONY at which time they will confer the groom's officially gifted titles - in PH's case he received the titles of Duke of Sussex, Earl of Dumbarton, and Baron Kilkeel. (The title for the Duchess is taken in absentia). PH may be HMTQ's grandson, but that doesn't lessen the formality, pomp and ceremony surrounding the conference of such titles and I would hardly term them as 'minor details'.

I used to feel sorry for Harry.. about his mothers death and him growing up in the life of Royalty like goldfish in a bowl.. but he is an adult now and knows when something isnot right. A fair assessment. I was waiting to hear you mention Meghan’s family and how maybe estrangement is a pattern of behaviour for her. Being always right and always the victim must necessarily mean that if things go bad, it’s never her fault. It’s going to be interesting to see how she and Harry end up. My guess is that this current glut of publicity, stoked purely because of the rift with the royal family, will eventually die down and then they will just be a rich couple living the Hollywood lifestyle with nothing worth talking about until they divorce.

Dr. Todd Grande, I agreed with everything you said except that, as far as I know, Meghan never got her British Citizenship; she is still an American citizen. I thought this was very telling. Like maybe she never intended to be a British Citizen, or, if she did, she changed her mind once she married into the British Royal Family.
Having been in a relationship with one woman who'd been repetitively diagnosed (I found out later) with Narcissistic Personality Disorder, and was manipulated into marrying another who had a diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder with a wide wake of destruction behind her, I learned my lesson. Markle's behavior strikes me as VERY FAMILIAR.
THE LITMUS TEST:
Take away the noble titles, which Markle -- an American citizen -- can't legally use in the U.S. anyway. Take away Harry's knighthood in the Royal Victorian Order. Disinherit Harry completely. Revoke her UK visa. As soon as the media loses interest in plain-old Mr. & Mrs. Mountbattern-Windsor, and after she's taken EVERYTHING Harry has -- mentally, emotionally, physically and materially -- she'll dump him in about 10 seconds. And she'll STILL blame everyone but herself!
