Fact is that there are a lot of sleeper trucks that are running around these days. Trucks are the new sleepers. And just because you have 600RWHP doesn't mean a 450-500RWHP truck won't drag your ass, especially on the street. If you think that statement is false then you have no idea what you are doing and need to keep throwing power at a car that won't hook up and watch a truck drag your ass.

badass. this reminds me a lot of my truck it had a similar stance on 275/40s and the cam duration specs are even close, mine was 222/230 i believe.

I have a 99 trans am WS6 had a LS1 that spun some bearing so I built a LM7 ported 862's and flat top pistons with that cam and everything else like intake and exhaust is stock

Chris King roger that, thank you, sir!!! I have an LSA blower off of a ZL1 Camaro that's gonna get thrown on here in the coming weeks. Got a list of odds and ends I need to track down for that and then it's on like donkey kong. No plans for the Denali. That's my tow rig and she's still under warranty. The 6.2 has enough to handle duty for now.
I hear you on the 6.2. My wife has a denali with the 6.2. Trying to talk her up to throwing a procharger on it. Making it a grocery getting sleeper.
Chris King check out the On3 turbo kits for them. Cheaper than the blower kits, make phenomenal power and they're extremely well designed kits. We installed a single turbo kit from them on another truck like my stepside and it couldn't have been easier. Not to mention it responded beautifully to the turbo and far surpassed our expectations.
Standby To Get Some stay away from the on3 kits. We had a 2008 Denali with a custom ground non vvt cam, and it was a mean N/A machine then we went with the on3 turbo kit and had nothing but problems. In the long run you'd be money ahead if you went with a procharger.
Austin Jester I decided against the On3 route. I purchased an LSA blower and cathedral/rectangle port adapters along with other stuff needed.

Gerardo Barrera-Perez thank you!! Yes, the entire set of fuel tables and timing profiles have all been changed using open source software to take full advantage of all the mods.
Do you have a chip for the truck with different tunes? I'm bout to do a master rebuild on my engine and have been looking at this cam. But yours sounds the best out of all the ones I've seen on here. Also, what kind of exhaust are you running?
Trent Skinner I don't have a chip. I did what 95% of people do and that's use an open source software on a laptop to communicate with the ECU and reprogram it. No multiple tune profile options. No need for more than one in something like this. Thank you very much. And this cam is an excellent option for a mainly street driven build and to keep almost stock manners. In this video it's TSP 1-3/4" stainless long tube headers with a catless y-pipe into 3" all the way back to a Carven R muffler.

Are u running the front o2's? I just installed tsp long tubes and I keep getting upstream o2 codes even after replacing
Mr5point I am running ONLY the front O2’s. My downstreams are gone and deleted. It sounds like you have an issue in your tune almost certainly.
Does the btr stage 4 make more power than the texas speed stage 4 ?

Say bro did you have to do any upgrades when you install the cam other than push rod and lifters and springs?
Finally about to pull the trigger on this kit for my 5.3. Did you switch to chromoly push rods? Did you get the melling factory replacement or high volume oil pump? And have you had a chance to dyno it?
Also how are you liking that circle d stall? I'm torn between that and the tsp converter made by yank
LORD MC I retained the factory push rods. The cam doesn’t have enough lift to worry about needing chromoly push rods. I used the Melling high volume, low pressure replacement oil pump. These motors in stock form don’t benefit much from the pressure increase but will from increased volume flow. And I have not put the truck on a dyno. I get that question a lot, lol.

Ashton P I didn't HAVE to as this cam doesn't have crazy lift. But I did swap the stock 7.45 rods for some hardened 7.45 versions. Just because.

Hey probably a dumb question but I’m doing the same setup on my caprice, what’s your gas mileage look like? I’m doing a cam because my gas mileage won’t go above 9mpg and for that kinda gas I want more power. What’s your mpg looking like?
You should get better than that unless you do a bigger than needed stall or a giant cam. The truck got around 12 with fairly normal driving. Probably 3-500lbs lighter than a caprice.

Looking to do an ls swap in a c1500 with a 5.3 like this for a daily driver. Curious what kind of gas mileage you get with that cam?
DoubleM119 honestly pretty damn good. When I drive it to work which is about 85% highway @75mph I get a solid 17mpg and with a mix of more stop and go I get about 15mpg. That's also excluding any WOT runs mixed in. I'm over the moon happy with the cam. Any more aggressive and I think it would lose some manners.

Yes, you absolutely will have to tune the truck afterwards. It will start but, it will NOT want to drive at ALL. There are lots of options for getting it tuned though. If you search Black Bear mail order tune, you'll see that's a popular option. It works well for mostly stock vehicles that may just have some head work/cam/long tubes/intake. Or find yourself a reputable tuner local to you.

what did you use for droppin it and did you need to notch?
Austin Jevne 2" drop springs, 2" drop spindles and 2" drop lower control arms for the front, a flip kit and drop shackle in the rear and I notched the frame as much as possible without penetrating the bed floor. So not a step notch, just a c-notch. I used 1/4" plate to box in the frame and reinforce the top rail.

TheReaperz28 it has excellent street manners and makes power in the lower to mid range where you’ll use it most. No dyno runs as of yet.
people lets not forget, louder doesnt mean faster. i bet a 212/218 stage 2 would beat anything over 220 across the board until after 5500rpms

Ethan Davis after I get some decent pull videos in the next day or so I'm going to do a ceremonial "tire funeral" video. Got new wheels and tires on the way. And that's one of the factory wheel locks you're seeing, lol. It's not missing a cover or anything, it's just losing its chrome.

Kenny Rodger I did all the work myself and street tuned it, so unfortunately I didn't get any before and after runs on a dyno. I plan to install an LSA blower in the coming weeks and will absolutely be putting it on the dyno for before numbers and also after. But I can absolutely, without question, for sure tell you the cam, stall, long tubes, additional bolt ons and tune woke it up across the board. It's a different truck for sure. It's significantly quicker all the way around and responds fantastic to quick throttle and passing. So much fun to drive.
Standby To Get Some How fast is the 0-60 in your estimation? How much faster did it get? I've got a 14' Ram Hemi quad cab on 35's with 4.56 gears that does high 6's 0-60. I think it's fun to have a heavy truck still get it on heavy tall tires. It gets 20mpg highway too lol.
Kenny Rodger right now I'm having to pedal it a bit out of the gate because although I'm able to get it to weight transfer pretty good, the tires are letting go right before the 1-2 shift. So based on my data logger, I'm coming up with an average of high 4's, low 5's. It runs pretty good. I'll admit it wasn't all that impressive stock, but like I said, it's whole different animal now. I'll be doing some pull videos here soon.
