- Amazing Bassi Falls with water cascading over the 109 ft. waterfalls is an awesome day hike in the Sierra Nevada!! This hike is in my backyard and I have made it many times but never seen the water levels so high. This is a very popular hike since it is only 4 miles long. We ended up hiking/climbing around the left side of the waterfall to the top of the falls, which made the total miles 6.
The winter was hard this year and there are a ton of trees down on the trail. You can either scramble over them or around them. Within a mile, you will come to the river and hike along with it for a short time. The first falls you get to are Lower Bassi Falls and just breathtaking. If you continue on the trail through the trees you will come to the 109 ft waterfall. This is Bassi Falls! The water is moving fast so be very careful. There are many swimming holes but the water is cold! If you are able I would go to the top of the falls, the views are worth the energy spent.
PLEASE TAKE OUT ALL YOUR TRASH! If your going to enjoy our beautiful forest respect them. I shouldn't have to pick up your trash.

I think this went beyond badass. I wouldn’t really call that rock scrambling, looked more like rock climbing without ropes.lol. You got some amazing views of the whole area, besides Bassi Falls. Lots of trees down though. Glad you two got to do a video together. Both you and Maryann inspire me, and I know you both inspire others. Great video.

What a beautiful place! I was astounded by all the fallen trees! So huge! What a job for the trail maintenance crews!
Bassi Falls is such a great place to visit this time of year. I was thinking the same thing about the clean up. This area got hit with some high winds and lots of the trails are covered with trees.

Beautiful falls. I love how you guys are sitting out on the rocks by the rushing water. That would be a great place to take a nap lol. Such a pretty hike!!
It would of been a perfect place for a nap with the sun warming us and the sound of the water!

It's that time of year for blowdowns for sure. Love those clear mountain rivers, especially this time of year when they're swollen from the snow melt higher up. Looks like a great adventure, and a very brave scramble up the falls.

Thank you so much! I think it would be pretty scary to camp out under the trees. I don't think I would sleep at night. The campsite was not actually ours. We just did a day hike, the tent was the couple we met on the trail. I wish it was ours, one day!

We try to clean up the trail as we go. Today was a really bad day. The trail was covered with trash. On a nice note, I love the clear waters in this area. So pretty, but COLD lol

What a beautiful trail and perfect weather! It reminds me of when I used to backpack in the Sierras at Kings Canyon and Sequoia national Park.
I was just talking about taking a trip to Kings Canyon. Do you recommend and good trails there?
It has been years but what I remember is we used to do the Rea Lakes loop and Bubbs Creek trails. We were backpacking for 5 to 7 days though.

Wow, what a beautiful hike! Loved the scramble up to the falls. I've only been out that way once (2018) and sooo want to get back out there, nothing in the midwest/east quite compares to what you have out there, love it. Keep doing what you do!
