- Awesome day on the rubicon trail, Mother's day weekend, Spring 2021. How to make a full-day trip on the rubicon trail when you only have 1 day to do it. We have been doing the rubicon trail for over 25 years now and it never gets old. The Rubicon trail is on many off-roader's bucket lists. You can hit tons of obstacles in a day. Soup bowl, Soup Kitchen, Little Sluice, and Spider lake. We spent some time at the soup bowl and little sluice.
We went with a group of rigs in early May. There was little water on the trail with just patches of snow. The weather was warm and sunny but don't forget it can change quickly in the sierras. Always take extra food and something to sleep in case you get stuck on the trail for a night.

Thanks Mark. For some its just like any other thing you do a lot. You get good at where to put your tire or you want to show your buddies you can make it up that super hard rock. For others just starting it can be very challenging but those that have been doing it for awhile always help out and try to spot them to complete the task.

There are a bunch of really cool trails if you get to this area. Fordyce is a blast with great water crossings and Moon rocks have some really cool rock walls. I hope you make it this way one day!

I just sold my standard jeep and got a lifted Rubicon that now I can take out on the trail as well and show the family that mom can do some wheeling herself haha

It really was a good day on the trail. I love spending time out here. I miss going for a week and just camping out there with nothing but nature and rigs.

Thanks Jimmy! I am glad that you got to watch it with your family. Its hard to not get cursing in them when wheeling but I try to add music over it when I do hear it. Sometimes I miss a few here and there. What a great thing to start doing with your kids. I started taking my kids in car seats and now ( as you can see in the video) they both have their own rigs and drive very well. Maybe we will see you out on the trail one day!

Ours is the blue fj4o Land cruise and my daughter has the black Toyota truck. We knew most of the people on the trail from wheeling for over 25 years. You tend to meet and hang out on the trail and make friends. It is always a great time. Thanks for watching

Iv always been interested in the rubicon trail. I have a 1988 Bronco, but would be a little afraid I’d damage it on the trail.
You should give it a try sometime. Most of the harder areas do have bi passes but that doesn't mean you wont get any body damage. Sometimes just putting you wheel in the wrong spot can throw your backend into a rock. Go with someone that has done the trail before or is really good at spotting.

We know nothing about 4 wheeling. We get to all of our adventures in a Civic, and the hardest we've ever gone on it is a class 6 road. Literally cringed every time we heard the smack of metal on rock, but that's what they're built for right? I think some of those trucks have hit quite a few rocks. Looks like a lot of fun! Saw on Maryann's channel that you guys had some fun in Yosemite recently, looking forward to your take on it.
Sounds like fun memories in your Civic! Yes these rigs tend to hit more rock than the normal vehicle. I had such a great time with MaryAnn! I am hoping to start editing that video tomorrow and hopefully will have it up in 5-6 days. Its funny how you can be on the same hike and your videos can be so different. I hope I can present it as well as she did!

It is a crazy but fun place for them to put their rigs and driving skills to the test! I rode some of the time but most of the time I would walk and film as the rigs went by. Thanks for watching~
