I have high hopes for Archege 2. This game had good potential, but we all know how it ended

Is it worth to play and grow? should I give it a try? asking as a newcomer, already downloaded.
I think you should definitely give it a try but I don't see it as a new main game. There are some good games coming out in the future so have fun in the mean time.

Yeah.. Let me tell you why Archeage sucks.. back when I paid $150 to get into the beta for Archeage the game was great, I played a few months of beta and it was awesome then Trion released it to the USA market, with a subscription fee and a cosmetic cash shop. Everything was great for about 2 months, then, against everything Trion had ever told us in the beta forums they started putting crafted in game items on the cash ship. First thunderstruck logs.. destroying the forest industry, then polar bear mounts, destroying the mount industry.. one by one in game craffted items that people used to make their in game living was destroyed in lue of you buying these items directly from the cash shop. The economy crashed, no profession was worth shit, people lost their land, their homes, they lost everything. People complained, on the forums and where banned. I personally was banned on 3 accounts, for telling people the truth about how Trion had swore they wwould never sell crafable items in the cash shop.. they perscucated their customers, their paying customers in lue of cash shop customers.. The players revolted, they cancelled their subs en mass, the sold their accounts, they fled the game like running from the plague. Trion DESTROYED Archeage withing 2 months of release.. completely and utterly, so bad that we swore NEVER to play a Trion game, or archeage again as a playerbase. So... to say this game is THE mmo of 2024 is a slap in the face to all the players that supported the game during alpha, beta and full release. This game should be deleted, and never allowed online ever again in respect for what was done to the original player base. Fuxk Trion, and Archeage.. I loved my tree farm, I loved playing, and they took all of that from me and the playerbase. SO yeah... now you know...

i played the Beta my self, and absolutely loved the game, i remember finding crazy out of bounds areas to grow huge tree farms with my guild, and having huge 50v50+ battles to keep our trees every time the thunderstruck tick would happen it was crazy fun, and was a HUGE part of the game, Making hidden farms to collect a big amount of materials, making crates and transferring them across the ocean to get Gilda Star's for new Gliders, Houses, Boats and so on, ending 8/10 times in anything from tiny 5 man parties trying to steal a boat to again full parties of 50+ battles on the ocean or the island where you had to turn in the crates, again creating organic PvP that would happen all over the server at all times, trying to find other peoples hidden farm to steal their crops or trees and so on.
With release they changed so pretty much all mounts had the same speed, so there was no reason to get different mounts, only because of different abilities it might have, and all Gliders had different stats, like one was faster, and one was better at staying in the air, that they changed too, so now all gliders had the same speed, and stuff, so again, only abilities that would differ them.
We could get crafting material from doing dungeons, that they changed to, so now there was no reason to go do the dungeons, because crafted gear was always better.
They made it so you could buy thunderstruck tress and the whole open world PvP for resources completely died.
Honestly the game was perfect in Beta, if they had kept it that way, and just improved and added more stuff, the game would have been a much bigger success, and i and many of my friends would have kept playing it, and we would probably be some of the people that would keep coming back again and again, like WoW, FF or BDO for a lot of people.
I and Most of my friends, and thousands others on the forum or reddit, actually ended up getting our money refunded after the release because of all the promises they had broken, it was an easy case with Paypal, it was a HUGE deal back in the day i remember.
Trion is not in charge anymore
can we take a moment to acknowledge that we are so down bad we would pay money to test their game? we are partly to blame for the sorry state of mmos and the industry at large.
do you know anything about pets? as my pet only gains XP in one or 2 areas and i dont know why, do you have any ideas?
Hmm. Not sure. Might have to check the forums or the discord.
