Thanks James. I hope you are enjoying Illustrator. I would love more time for making these videos. I manage to put them out as often as time allows - it is a passion outside of my normal work hours. Glad you liked it!
Hi Sarah, great video. I have a question : how did you get the vector layer of all the buildings ? Did you import it from Arcgis ? or created it manually in illustrator ? thanks !
If you use ArcGIS Maps for Adobe Creative Cloud, you can search for online building data directly via the plug-in (while in Illustrator). You can also export a file, such as AIX or AI, from a GIS software after adding the buildings to the GIS map. AIX is a format that you can create with ArcGIS Pro, and this file format can be opened in Illustrator if you have the Maps for Adobe plug-in. Highly recommend!!
Yes, you can import shape files into Illustrator with a plug-in called ArcGIS Maps for Adobe Creative Cloud. There are other ways as well, such as exporting a map from a GIS software. The plug-in is very convenient though.
That shooting star took me straight back to elementary school. Great video, easy to follow and demystifies Illustrator a bit. Please make more!
Totally!
As a GIS analyst that's new to adobe illustrator, this is mind blowing. I would love to see more content like this. Thanks for the video!
