I already know everything there is about site analysis I just can't use illustrator at all that is what I want ;(

i love that you can do it but i hate how the important little detail wasnt really shown how to be done properly, ive been trying to do this for too long and as straight forward as this seems, for someone like me, it is not so straight forward. I mean to those who know it great good for you, but to those who dont know how and would like to try to do something thats supposedly easy and straight forward but directions are not directioning, its horrible sorry :/

You could use 3D classic version, go to View > 3D and Materials > 3D (Classic). There, you can edit the rotation and depth of the roofs!
Hi 👋🏼 thank you for the tutorial!! But may I ask how high does the graphic card need to be do beveling and 3D effects. Cuz currently my laptop isn’t able to do that 😅

how can i put the selected parts in on layer?????????
Hi there, select the parts using the Select menu, then go to Layers panel, you'll see the parts you've selected is highlighted in a square at the right side of the layer they're located, drag the little square to the layer you want to move them into. And that's all!

Hi, I cannot edit the buildings after expanding them. It makes a picture, an image. What's the problem here?
Hi there, it's really odd 🤔Have you tried ungrouping them? Also, maybe you can try expanding them multiple times. If it creates an image (which is very unlikely given that Illustrator is a vector based program), you can try to use image trace command to turn them into vectors again. Hope this helps
Also, you are using 3D Classic right? Not 3D realistic. You should select: Effect > 3D and Materials > 3D (Classic) > Extrude & Bevel (Classic)

I have a query, it happens that when I make the clipping mask all my elements buildings, green areas, streets, are in a single layer and it does not let me change the color of my elements, for example if I want to change the color of the buildings I have to select them one by one, it doesn't let me do all the buildings at once

Hi there! To open the PDF file in Illustrator, you must right-click on it and select Open with > Illustrator. The entire drawing will be expanded in this way. Then select the object with the features you want, for example an outline. Go to Select menu and click on Same > Fill & Stroke, all outlines with the same features will be selected. Afterwards, you can select Expand from the Object menu

When I import the map there’s only one layer what do you do exactly to separate the layers ?
Hi there! Right-click on the pdf file then choose open with Illustrator. This way you'll be able to edit the drawing. If you open the file this way and you're still unable to select the shapes and locate them into another layer; you can try ungroup or expand first.
After I open the pdf in illuatrator, it is only IMAGE and I unable to ungroup them or even select those road, building, and soo. Helpp me please!
Hi there! Right-click on the pdf file then choose open with Illustrator. If you open the file this way you'll be able to ungroup or expand it also. Go to Object menu and choose expand.

I don't get it. If clipping mask make all layers merge, why do we bother to seperate layers at the first place?
You could definitely leave out the clipping mask step, it just looks cleaner for the tutorial!

How do you do the layers step by step?
In 0:34 , first we use select tool to select the shapes with the same properties, then we'll add new layers from the layers panel, and place the selected shapes into their assigned layer
@@toffuco how do you "place the selected shapes into their assigned layer"? I'm having trouble with mine because when i try to change the layer everything even the things i havent selected move into the new layer
@@moo_idle6568 We're not sure why that happens, but it's possible that your drawing is grouped. You can try ungrouping or expanding the map first. Then, use the select tool to choose and drag the shapes to another layer from the layers panel.
