      Yeah when he said that I was like huh?! Tell that to the 15 year old honor student who was just murdered by the police in Dallas Saturday night. I think he'd say that his past was better.

    • @MrGrace
      @MrGrace 7 лет назад

      Kanhwiyonne the problem with making statements like that is that its subjective. There are many statistics that show it getting worse for black people as a whole. I mean, i understand what he is saying in general, but it depends on which lens you view "better" through.

    • @MrGrace
      @MrGrace 7 лет назад

      i can give you one without doing any research: the incarceration rate, which has exploded disproportionately for black people in the last 40 or so years. Mind you, incarceration is legal slavery, as stated by the constitution. I wasn't really tryna do any heavy thinking about this comment, but you keep challenging me, and its making me think of several ways in which I'm right. Just agree to disagree. i think you think I'm attacking Chris Rock, but I'm not. He's a very smart man, but that doesn't mean he's never wrong.

    Kendrick Lamar is definitely in the conversation, he surpassed a lot of MC's already.
    Also Kendrick Lamar can fit in any era in my opinion as can maybe a J. Cole. The 90's were the best era for Hip-Hop in my opinion because most fans CRAVED that real, gritty yet conscious music, which is what Kendrick Lamar delivers consistently.
    TPAB is Kendrick's best album, behind DAMN.

    • @andrewgutierrez358
      @andrewgutierrez358 7 лет назад +1

      bsinatra145 he would've been the Drake of that era. He's lyrical when compared to today's rappers, but when he's compared to 90s rappers he is more melodic. I don't think he would start singing or anything but he wouldn't be seen as a master lyricist. Cole is the only other mainstream artist besides Kendrick that could flourish in the 90s. Cole can story tell with the best of em.

    One thing that bothers me about our community is we're content as long as the hate isn't directed towards us ... Don't complain when whites don't speak out against systemic racism when the majority of our community think someone proposing a Muslim ban isn't a "huge deal "

    • @Hideotic
      @Hideotic 7 лет назад +4

      That's because a lot of people think white people shouldn't talk about black issues because "they cant understand" which makes things worse because it prevents open conversation and healing and it adds more tension and division. But obviously there are a lot of white people who don't know what the fuck they're talking about or don't care. But either way people need to communicate even if you don't want to.

      jfraz1992 Ironically your validating my point ... Sadly humans are tribalistic creatures . We are only passionate about our own particular group hence racism exists . That's how slavery occurred , people where content because it wasn't there race being subjected to inhumane living standards . If your willing to watch other groups endure systemic racism and not vocalise your disgust you too are afflicted by the same primitive tribalism that plagues the white community . It's rather odious to state your not oppose to other melanin enfused brothers and sisters dealing with overt racism because it Dosent affect you .... Abhorrent vile behaviour . In my eyes your a sell out and a sub conscious advocate of white supremacy

      jaziilean That's the problem with brain washed black folks like you that just accept whatever the white liberal tells them.
      It wasn't a "Muslim" ban. You need to learn to think for yourself. 90% of Muslim countries weren't even part of the ban. It's crazy you can allow yourself to be so ignorant when the truth is plainly obvious.

    Chris Rock is not lying about Amy Schumer because I seen him outside back stage at the Apollo and I was excited I thought he was relaxing before his show... I turn that corner on 125th and it says Amy Schumer was headlining that night I was like Chris Rock FELL IN LOVE WITH THE COCOA THAT WHITE

    DMX is still and always will be one of the greatest to me. I'm saying it now and I don't want anyone to later accuse me of tip-riding or bandwagon jumping when that time comes.
    5 _consecutive albums straight to number 1_ . Try deny that.
    It's also annoying hearing people say "if only DMX would get clean", X has ALWAYS been on drugs and liquor and he was dropping seismic albums. His issues are deeper than that.
