I think this one of the few times that Jeremy actually likes a car from the US, and I’m not saying that because I’m American and I’m salty that people are trash talking American cars, because they are kinda right. A lot of cars from here are pretty cheap and plastic and not the best to drive for fun like some European cars. So hearing that a corvette like this is actually liked by someone as critical as Jeremy Clarkson, means that it must be pretty good to come from the US.

I had to make this exact decision earlier and I went with the vette. My dad has a boxster and I appreciate the precision, but I want a monster that COULD kill me if it wanted to. Porsche's are amazing, but sometimes you just need to get punched in the face to feel alive.

Really?-do you know what you're talking about? I've had a 911, and my mate has had more Porsche's than me-in fact 911 turbo, Cayman GTS, Boxster Spyder, Cayenne. He tells me and it's my experience too that you have to get to a 911 turbo to match the Cayman. I won't go back to a 911 now.

It's been beaten to death by Corvette for over 20 years in LeMans, Sebring, Daytona, Lime Rock, Laguna Seca, etc. I mean shit, Corvette has dominated so much, they made Ferrari and Porsche, among others, basically quit. Not to mention they made the other American manufacturers(Ford and Dodge) quit cause they couldn't hack it, oh and they did it with a car that cost half to as little as 1/10th of its competitors. Porsche all the way . I don’t care if it’s slower to 60 lol. Maybe it’s just where I live but when I leave the house on the weekend I will see upwards of 20 corvettes to maybe 1 Porsche . The Corvettes nice but not for me . Styling is also subjective as I think the Porsche lines and profile are classic.

If I had unlimited funds I would buy one and add it to my car collection. I own 2 Porsches and absolutely love both of them . Repair costs are scary if something goes wrong but my experience is if you do the maintenance and don’t cheap out they will be reliable and last .

The starting price is $60000, and that is insane with 495hp and supercar looks. And from other corvettes, the interior looks premium and supercar like. As for maintenance, its no Japanese reliability, but far better than European counterparts. American parts are super east to find and not too expensive. There is a joke that you can pull up with your corvette to a chevy dealer fixing 10k chevy cruz lol

corvettes are such an eye sore. It's like every other sports car you see being driven on the road.
