This song came on in a Starbucks when I was sitting and drinking coffee with my girlfriend back in 2011/2012. I just stared into her eyes as we listened to the lyrics were being sang to us. She started tearing up, and I think I did too, because I realized then that was all I wanted from life. To be with her and to enjoy the simple things life had to offer us. To raise a family together and to grow old together. We were only teenagers, but it seemed like all we ever talked about was growing old together. It's February 2020 and all I have now are distant memories and old photographs.

This is the first song I listened to at the start of my journey. Fitting that it should find its way back to me at the start of a new one. I’ve come full circle.
Just got back from Beirut Lebanon's Snow Patrol concert. In a word: Triumphant. He normally dedicates this song to his father, but he dedicated this to the people of Lebanon. Great night.This is all i ever wanted from life, indeed. Cant wait for the next time i see this more than amazing band.
I really like the last verse about Gary being a dad in the future :) after all those "break-up" songs he has written you really wish him luck with finally finding the love of his life
I used this beautiful song for my Dad's funeral. (For him, insert "Dallas Cowboys in the superbowl" instead of "Ireland in the world cup". :-) )

Heard this song for the first time last night at the Metropolis concert in Montreal. That show was SUCH a high. Best live show I've ever seen. These lyrics really rang true for me with the bass vibrating in my rib cage. This is all I ever wanted from life!

My uncle gave me this CD and told me it was a must listen to. I got home and noticed the case was empty and he said he couldn't find it, so I gave up. A few months later I find this CD in my library, I borrowed it and ripped it and I've been listening to it for 3 days straight! AMAZING MUSIC!!!

Hearing it live for the first time haunted me until the album was released. I kept singing to myself so I wouldn't forget it. My husband proposed to me playing it on his phone with a purple sunset in the background, and the band at our wedding learned the song for our first dance.
