going to sleep hungry isn't a problem. I've been doing intermittent fasting and eating only once a day. you may have trouble sleeping at first but yoi actually wake up with more energy despite less sleep. Having eaten less, my body releases more human grown hormone and I always wake up energetic
I also been doing IF and notice the same positive effects you describe. The energy boost is quite noticeable. The unwelcome side effect for me has been losing too much weight as I'm already very lean.

I read a whole book called “the Circadian code” that lists so many reason why eating before bed is a bad idea… it practically cured my acid reflux at night so I’ll stick with that
I'm nearly 70 years old and I've rarely had problems with my stomach or digestion. First thing in the morning I drink some water and follow it with a single cup of coffee or espresso, orange juice and a banana. That's my basic breakfast that started when I was a kid (except for the coffee/espresso which started in college). About an hour later I get hungry and eat again and it could be cereal or whatever goes with eggs (toast, bacon, sausage, fries, fruit, etc.) with more coffee and/or OJ. I rarely drink coffee after breakfast/brunch. The rest of the day I munch on a variety of raw veggies until dinner. But the point is, none of those never eat items ever upset my stomach.
@@factckzone7533 What you've been doing most of your life definitely appears to work, with what you're saying. And snacking on veggies during the day is definitely wise, it could even help you get away with having a small actual dessert (with sugar) with dinner, right? That sounds like a plan for me, snack on fresh fruits and veg all day, then 1 small piece of cake or something after dinner. Anyways, you sound like someone very intelligent and I think you know more than the guy in this video does
After eating breakfast, i can't be bothered doing exercise and to me, waking up and then going for some exercise has always been what i do. And then after that, i can go for breakfast 😬😬😬

# 10: Never argue on an empty stomach...you will end up saying far more worse things than the argument call for plus you will pass out and lose the entire battle.
I agree with that simply because without nutrients in your veins, you'll just be overall less stable and won't be able to do anything as well, argue, work, do chores, workout, etc. I agree with the not excersicing on a completely empty stomach, but you shouldn't excersise on full stomach either since it can trigger cramps, nausea, and even puking if you have other stomach issues. The best thing before a workout is either a few crackers, a banana, glass of milk, or a protien shake (but not a large one. You can have a small to med shake before workout and another one after though)
Ridiculous, I always eat at least one banana when I'm hungry late at night before going to bed and nothing happens except that I sleep better since it contains muscle relaxants (potassium and magnesium) and it also helps the production of serotonin which is a relaxing neurotransmitter and it's obvious why that helps you sleep. At least they could have explained why it is "bad"
On an empty stomach- I have ate a banana 5 days a week for the last 12 years w/ peanut butter or handful of almonds and I feel great. Many suggestions to this topic is "drink milk". I can't drink milk.

For everyone who's lactose intolerant, try Rice Dream milk alternative. I've been drinking it for years and it tastes great. I think it's made from rice.
Just a little note here - Before I go on - one must always drink at least one glass of pure water in the morning. Japanese say you have to drink two glasses before putting anything else in your stomach - but one glass is absolutely mandatory! This since your whole system in the motion . I don't take any antiinflammatories (I don't take any drugs at all) and I don't eat before bed but..... I alway drink coffee first thing in the morning and I drink it with a little bit of honey - honey reduces the acidity of the coffee - it actually makes it more alkaline....and especially when you put a little bit of cream or yolk - it is absolutely delicious. Needless to say I never had any stomach problems and ever will have . but I also don't touch milk or any dairy..... (Cut milk and meat quite a long time ago) I would like to see here a little bit of reference to the home of drinking milk at night… Contrary to what you're saying here milk does not provide magnesium and does not provide calcium actually milk rubs the body of calcium so promoting milk is a bad idea -i'm a little bit surprised by it because generally I like your videos. And I am a very highly knowledgeable in regards to health individual....🙂 thanks for the video!
Your stomach lining is quite literally built to stand up to stomach acid, and is also why suffers of extreme acid reflux and GERD can get a condition where the cells of the esophagus will turn into the same cells lining the stomach.
Also, milk seems like the answer to everything in this video, so what about the lactose intolerant ppl?? I haven't drank milk since I was like 7 yrs old
Don't make the REGRETTABLE MISTAKE I made a year ago when I was unable to sleep and had the "brilliant" idea to take a long hot bath followed by a long hot shower ON A COMPLETELY EMPTY STOMACH!!!! I had actually fasted on mostly water (plus a tiny bit of juice) the entire day before, so my stomach was beyond empty when I woke up at around 3 or 4 a.m. When I suddenly began to feel faint while standing up in the tub and taking a shower I managed to carefully step out of the tub, open up my bathroom door, and breathe in some cooler air, but it was still too late: In the hallway outside my bathroom door I immediately crumbled to the rug like a rag doll and broke the top of my foot in the process. (Had I fainted in the shower I could have easily wound up seriously injured or even dead!)
Every day, I take a slice of bread and spread butter on it. Then I peel 3 cloves of garlic and chop it to pieces. I put the chopped garlic on my buttered slices of bread and eat it. And don 't forget to put a little salt on it! If you do it like this, you won 't have hardly any burning in your mouth and it tasts delicious!
I do not agree if comes to working out on empty stomach and burning greater amout of calories. Working out on empty stomach and implementing intermittent fasting was the best thing that has ever happened to me. After about 1-2 the fatigue goes away and you will have much more energy when working out. Just learn the basics of fasting and that may work as it did for me
Having basic whey Protien with water before workout is enough without any side effects, no muscle loss and more energy for workouts! Can have 5-7 almonds too
Intermittent fasting is the way to go for a more healthy life style and a longer life, people eat way too often. One-two meals a day, that's it. Workout at the end of fasting is great, just eat directly afterwards!
I heard about that you shouldn't go grocery shopping on empty stomach before and there are many times I went grocery shopping on an empty stomach and I only bought the groceries that I needed. so it depends on the person.
There’s only four things that are correct in this video: don’t chew gum, drink coffee, or citrus juices and going shopping. The first three things cause more acid in your stomach and fourth you’ll end up buying more. Now the items that were wrong, cow’s milk has lactic acid which is bad for your stomach as well. Bananas are great on an empty stomach if itsn’t fully ripe, bananas are the best ph moderating food you can have, they’re high in potassium and magnesium and they are a resistant starch when eaten not ripe, potassium regulates your water levels magnesium is great for your bones and muscles. Working out on an empty stomach is okay as long as it’s no more than 1 hr workout. Also it’s better to go to sleep without eating a full meal and something light, your body detoxes while you sleep so it’s better to have a glass of water an hour before bed so you can help your body flush out extraneous ingredients like salt, sugar and other unnecessary foreign stuff.
You sound more intelligent than the guy in this video. I've noticed in several of these Bright Side videos where it seems that they haven't really learned the correct facts about things
I’ve been working out and drinking coffee fasted since 2016. Doing great my gut hasn’t suffered and I have been cold free since then. You need to do your research better. Eating before bed is a bad idea. I know that I get better sleep when I have my last meal at least 5 hours before sleep. My wearables seem to agree as well. I follow the circadian rhythm for my eating habits. Once in a while I will eat after sunset during a family gathering or special night out.
Alexander Blake ikr! And bananas are magic to an empty stomach! Cucumbers too! Both have helped me with serious GI issues! Some good points here and some silliness..fa sure!
Alexander Blake I was thinking the exact same thing. As well as promoting sugar substitutes. The truth is is that milk actually depletes one’s body of calcium and vitamin D.
These people maybe need to catch up! I use intermittent fasting to control my weight! People who support this tech. push black coffee with no sugar to get thru hunger pangs! Someone has to be wrong! ;-)
bright side video i watched just before this on how to go to sleep properly: "dont eat 3 hours before you go to bed." this bright side video: "dont go to bed without eating something within 2 hours." -ok, thank you
I'm intermittent fasting and I normally drink black coffee when I wake up to suppress hunger and push my fasting period to my targeted duration. I also drink water, a lot of water, when I wake up. Is having the coffee harmful? It really does help me wake up. I can't add milk or sugar or anything because I have to keep zero calories. Someone advice me.
As many people have already commented on one way or another, several of the points given on the video are totally wrong. It shows not enough investigation before making the statements on the video. This is a reminder that most of the "information" found on YT videos, must be taken with a grain of salt.
In my India, drinking warm milk before sleep is like custom doing this since childhood. And yes dairy products are very good as you have said about medicine without food my doctor/family always say so. Even i heard that taking too much paracetamol can damage liver i so avoid them but i guess in bad fever i can have them with milk. Even here for cough or injury turmeric in milk is taken which is antibiotic and milk help to absorb and transport it more.
I take my medicine on a empty stomach but haven’t had effects because after taking the medicine I eat a lot of breakfast that is 4 slices of toast, 2 muffin bites, and yogurt.
Nr 9 already fails partly. Paracetamol is not an anti-inflammatory drug and can be taken with no problems on an empty stomach. Some may prefer a bit of food first but there is no risk of bleeding if you take them without food. Second: no. The best idea is to drink water with any medication unless specifically told other drinks can help with the effect of the drug or it may help reduce nausea with a specific antibiotic. But make it a habit to take all your meds with just water if you can. Especially because if your doctor decides it is best to use a protective kind of medicine for your stomach like omeprazole (a ProtonPompInhibitor or PPI) milk completely works against it. And painmeds are not the only drugs that can cause stomach problems. Each medication can have an interaction with different food or drink, which is why it's safest to teach yourself to always use water unless told another drink will benefit the effectiveness or reduces nondangerous but annoying side effects such as nausea. Your pharmacy should tell you when that's the case or it's printed on the label which also says how often go take the medication.
Spectre how do you swallow your meds ? Head backwards or tilted forward? There could be a difference there. Do you only have pills or capsules too? How much water did you drink when taking your meds? Like one big sip or half a glass? I'm asking because first thing I thought was: "what about food? Is that going okay? Why does a pill get stuck but not food? (If I'm assuming right) Where do they get stuck? If you choke it sounds it's "high" like your throat or just under. I am by no means here to make you feel bad btw, just trying to see (also for others, you are not alone in this difficulty) what the cause of it could be. If you experiences one time of choking with water and then milk went fine, your brain can easily make the connection "milk is safe" and your throat sort of tightens as an automatic reaction. That's a harder one to challenge or "reprogram" than the positioning of your head. (Although this automatic reaction of shutting down the throat may be present here as well). I'm also not trying to say it's the most important thing to change in life, it also depends on your meds if there would be a problem. Calcium doesn't always go well with certain meds as it can bind the active ingredient of another, making it less effective or totally ineffective. (Like levothyroxine for your thyroid has to be taken before breakfast anyway but even then you should still take calcium 2 hours later than the meds. A certain antibiotic becomes ineffective when taken with milk. You could, if you want to of course, ask your pharmacist if you are ok with taking your meds with milk at this point. Especially when a medication is really off limits to take with milk, it could be helpful to see if something else works. Have you ever tried apple sauce? Because of it's thickness people with problems swallowing their meds, sometimes benefit from taking the pills on a spoon full of applesauce and wash it further down with water. (Or another spoon of sauce) Furthermore, there's a powder that thickens up fluids depending on how much you put into it. If you're open for it you could ask your pharmacist if they have that or could order it for you. (It's tasteless). And once more: I am only trying to help and give as much information about what I know or would advice in case of swallowingproblems such as yours, for when it does matter what you swallow your pills with. I'm not here to tell you you are doing it all wrong. The reason I'm responding with so much text is because I sincerely want you and other people to be safe and get the most out of their medication instead of for example needing more of a drug because your intakefluid reduces the effect. So I hope you don't take this as a slap on the wrist because that's not how I mean it. I'm not always the best in saying my "thing" without upsetting anyone. That's the last thing I intend to do and there's no reason why I even should. I hope you or anyone can pick something out of this mess of letters and words that they can use with their own use of meds, in any way possible ☺ *and I know that some pills can be crushed into a powder with a special tool your pharmacy will have, but I'm more careful with that one as you need to be sure if that's ok or not. Some tablets have a film on them. In some cases this film is only there for preventing a bad taste amd crushing it has no influence on its effectivenes, sometimes it's there to protect the pill from being broken down by stomach acids (which for the same stomachprotection you can't take wirh milk you don't want. It has to be absorbed in the bloodstream and get to the part of the body responsible for making the stomach (over)produce the acids and lower the ph of the acids, thus protecting the stomach lining. Sounds counterintuitive when it's meant to protect the stomach but you have different methods in how this protection can be achieved. I'll spare you from that 🙄). sometimes that film is there to make the tablet a time-released or slow-released one. Crushing it can cause serious problems in cases when it's meant as a time-release or slowrelease tablet because you get a dosage meant to be slowly released over 12 or 24 h all at once. And I think we all know one where users are purposely breaking this layer. This painkiller won't give a high with the time release on it, but it can/will if the substance gets released all at once. This can be dangerous with the painkiller too, but mostly if y oh have heartmedication you don't want to get the full load all at once....) Same goes for breaking big tablets. Don't just do that if there's a film on it. (in Europe we have the meds in packages/strips and that package it says if it has a film, but I don't know if that is printed on the bottles in the US? You could feel it if the tablet is slightly smooth, or very smooth and shiny ) Anyway, because you must know why that small layer of film is there, I am against crushing it yourself. If you wish to do so, your pharmacist will be able to tell you if it's possible or not. I am only writing this with the asterisk to say I know about this option but why I would not advice it. The only one I can safely say from here to anyone is that crushing is ok in any case, even if you have the smooth tablets/caplets. The film in that case is simply meant to make it a smooth pill that swallows more easily. But there are so so many meds out there that I basically say:some can be crushed. Ask your pharmacist in case of a specific type of medicine. (And really do ask for that device, it's so much easier than crushing with a spoon, if your medicine is crushable) /end of my book
😱 I’m always chewing gum when I’m hungry or not. I must remember this. I chew it cuz I get dry mouth & it helps. Gotta break this “addiction or ritual” because I don’t want ulcers😬😬
Training on an empty stomach does really help to lose weight. And they were promoting milk as a solution for every of those "problems". Next video? "Milk is not good for you" There are some big contradictions among videos on this chanel, i like it and i aprove to most of the videos, but some are realy....like the one you should no drink a lot of water before meal, and next video drink water before meal because it helps you with whatever and there are so many examples.
Water is your friend. I don't know anybody who can survive without it. But, what do people think about water filters? Do most people drink straight from the faucet or do they drink filtered water or bottled water? Residents from Flint, Michigan have generally sworn off tap water due to their water crisis just 5 years ago. Reports state that they still do not trust the municipal water supply despite the federal water studies that claim it is safe within the proper guidelines. Residents say that prior to the water crisis their federal water reports also said the water was safe--and that's as lead-contaminated water was flowing from their faucets and making their kids and elderly sick. Who can really trust their water supply as long as the officials ignore the warning signs to protect their jobs?
there are different articles on wether or not to eat before and after breakfast. basically we need more studies. some did 3 groups but this study was only with men and with a high carbohydrate breakfast, so it needs to be replicated in women and with a low carbo breakfast. there's so many variables
Suggesting cow milk for anything is not the best idea as if leads to over production of mucus and related health issues. Even though the video did not explicitly say "cow's milk" it didn't suggest any alternatives like almond or cashew milk. Other than this, I love the video and what I could do on an empty stomach. Thank you so much!!

😅
Thanks this is very helpful for me in Ramadan :)
Did the dairy companies sponsor this video?
lol
😝
Alexander Blake ikr! And bananas are magic to an empty stomach! Cucumbers too! Both have helped me with serious GI issues! Some good points here and some silliness..fa sure!
Alexander Blake I was thinking the exact same thing. As well as promoting sugar substitutes.
The truth is is that milk actually depletes one’s body of calcium and vitamin D.
These people maybe need to catch up! I use intermittent fasting to control my weight! People who support this tech. push black coffee with no sugar to get thru hunger pangs! Someone has to be wrong! ;-)
I am chewing gum and its getting worse and i am happy they put this on recomendations right now
You're perfectly right! Great tips. This video will help a lot of people. Thank you!
Hello Katherine
Every line is wrong
bright side video i watched just before this on how to go to sleep properly: "dont eat 3 hours before you go to bed." this bright side video: "dont go to bed without eating something within 2 hours." -ok, thank you
We eat supper LATE every night - I sleep like a log!
Why is the background music of this video an elevator music!!
....and the narrator sounds like he is about to fall asleep.
😂😂😂😂
Nakul Bazwaria he is speaking on an empty stomach.
Nakul Bazwaria - sounds like ATB
Nakul Bazwaria that's just how it is
Nakul Bazwaria talking about taking drugs on an empty stomach, he just popped a couple xannys and feeling groovy
Coffee on an empty stomach is what I've been told to do while intermittent fasting so this point of no coffee on an empty stomach confuses me :/
It's indeed a brighter side of life with you!!!
my stomach never empty cuz i eat after every few hours but im still watching just in case😂
I do the same thing! Haven't had any issues as of yet
The empty stomach with shopping is so true !! 😛
Not in my case. I hate shopping so much that the only way I go to the grocer is if I'm starving
but I hate going to the store when I'm full. I make a list beforehand and when I get there I barely buy a thing and regret it later that day
That sound in the beginning was absolutely disgusting...
robinbirdie17 agreed
Totally gross
Yuppp
robinbirdie17 agreee
robinbirdie17 yea nobody wants to hear someone smacking on gum
As many people have already commented on one way or another, several of the points given on the video are totally wrong. It shows not enough investigation before making the statements on the video. This is a reminder that most of the "information" found on YT videos, must be taken with a grain of salt.
What if I'm on a fasting? Should I stay awake (not sleep) for 1 week?
When I'm really hungry i just drink water in class when it's not lunch time.
9 things you shouldn’t do on an empty stomach
thumbnail: *drink coffee*
me: i don’t plan on living long
Thanks for your kind information. Really Appreciated.
The videos are always refreshing and full of knowledge.
Keep it up! :)
When you wake up in the morning and you're hungry, drink water. That's the best way to start the day.
Good old and sound advice, Thanks!
Just found your channel, and enjoyed it. I learned quite a bit. Thank you. You've just gained another subscriber 😁.
you are great bright side mwaah thanks for sharing ! the world loves you!
Thanks from Egypt 🇪🇬
God bless you
You give such good advice
What about the people who have lecto allergy? About more than 50% people suffer from lactose allergies
Kunwer Tayyab i get anaphylaxis from all dairy products
50% haahaa, another youtube scientist, I have come cross with only 1 person, maybe 50% in your country
This site continues to amaze me. Who does their research? No coffee on an empty stomach?
You are what you eat..👍👍
Me: so am I aloud to breathe?
BRIGHT SIDE: no, drink milk first please.
U so silly 😄😄😂😂😂😂😂
Sonya martin so silly he spelt allowed wrong.
Cooper L17 😂😂😂
you are allowed to breath before drinking milk. Not aloud to breath before drinking milk.
@@Convair cause he did it on empty stomac 🤣😅😆😁
I always have my meds with milk. I am unable to swallow any pills with any other liquid that is not milk based. They get stuck and I choke.
Great job! I was hoping that someone else noticed it too, before I would get myself started on the incorrect info.
(If I'm assuming right)
Where do they get stuck?
(Or another spoon of sauce)
Furthermore, there's a powder that thickens up fluids depending on how much you put into it.
I hope you or anyone can pick something out of this mess of letters and words that they can use with their own use of meds, in any way possible ☺
*and I know that some pills can be crushed into a powder with a special tool your pharmacy will have, but I'm more careful with that one as you need to be sure if that's ok or not.
This can be dangerous with the painkiller too, but mostly if y oh have heartmedication you don't want to get the full load all at once....)
Same goes for breaking big tablets. Don't just do that if there's a film on it. (in Europe we have the meds in packages/strips and that package it says if it has a film, but I don't know if that is printed on the bottles in the US? You could feel it if the tablet is slightly smooth, or very smooth and shiny )
Anyway, because you must know why that small layer of film is there, I am against crushing it yourself.
(And really do ask for that device, it's so much easier than crushing with a spoon, if your medicine is crushable)
/end of my book
Kaikani thanks ☺
The Alien you're welcome ;)
SOme people are lactose intolerant or have gone dairy free...there are other things that could have been mentioned with calcium and zinc.
😱 I’m always chewing gum when I’m hungry or not. I must remember this. I chew it cuz I get dry mouth & it helps. Gotta break this “addiction or ritual” because I don’t want ulcers😬😬
Wow. Thank You Bright Side!
Training on an empty stomach does really help to lose weight. And they were promoting milk as a solution for every of those "problems". Next video? "Milk is not good for you"
There are some big contradictions among videos on this chanel, i like it and i aprove to most of the videos, but some are realy....like the one you should no drink a lot of water before meal, and next video drink water before meal because it helps you with whatever and there are so many examples.
when he told about Hunger.....I just remeberd the AD related "GRAB A SNICKER"
LOVE THIS! IT HAS SOLUTIONS.
Thank you so much , it is so useful information . I appreciate your effort .
U forgot number 10....never smoke on an empty stomach 😂😂
Best never to smoke at all, if possible !
@@derekofive9676 and never smoke after a meal! It's also dangerous
Hunger is the number 1 reason people whip out another smoke
haha

What about drinking lemon juice with honey and hot water on an empty stomach???
I do this too. It's a fact that it curbs hunger
I agree with #3 it usually leads to purchasing a lot of junk
I think #3(Shopping) and Bonus#2(Make choices) are contradictory.
there are different articles on wether or not to eat before and after breakfast. basically we need more studies. some did 3 groups but this study was only with men and with a high carbohydrate breakfast, so it needs to be replicated in women and with a low carbo breakfast. there's so many variables
Well? Surprisingly, I have a question.
Are you allowed to take a shower on an empty stomach?
That's a very good question if course I don't have the answer to that.
Yes in my opinion..
No u should drink water b4 u shower to lower your blood pressure
I suggest you take a shower, not only on your stomach, empty or not, but on your ENTIRE body! 😄
@@lauramckenzie4283 what

I eat ice cream before bed, most of these I knew. Thank you. ❤
What a fascinating 🙂 list and it's common sense , so it's great to be reminded 🙂
Shopping and intense training both are displayed as #4 in the top left, you guys can correct it.
Coffee and bananas can give me bad indigestion on an empty stomach, so I would agree with those
I always going to bed when I'm hungry :")
#7 should have been #1...
question: how long should one wait after eating before going to the gym?
Thanks ❤🌹😊
The breakfast suggestion looked so good...
Actually, I chew gum and I still prefer fruits/veggies over junk food
who is it in your dp?
same
Lils .mazpz
Ew
Hahs chew gum you eat junk food.. haha i still eat healthy
8:40 BUT WAIT! My Breakfast is a sandwich with cheese, tomatoes and green vegetables + a banana milkshake. OH NO!
Milk wasn't meant for human consumption so the idea of drinking milk to help something for a human is not so helpful.
Okey so all that comes from animals are not meant to humans enimore...?

Went to the grocery store on an empty stomach to make the best food choices.
End up buying all the food
I've been drinking coffee on an empty stomach for years 🤔
offcourse! first thing i do, every morning..
me too. sometimes other can't stand the acidity of coffee
