Spencer FoxDavis Sorry, not me. If I’d been heading to Genoa it would have been from the south, not the west. I’m pretty sure I haven’t been to Ospedaletti.
99% of folks wouldn't. But it only takes 1 person to call the cops and if you've been homeless a while or stealth camping frequently, ya gotta be careful.
If you knew the town of Camrose you’d know it’s a small uptight little town with its own police force with nothing to do. Chances he spent the night in jail are pretty high
Whether something like this is risky or not, the thought of the danger makes it feel 100x more satisfying. Went to an old military base a while back with some friends, and the entire time we were jumping into bushes hiding from coming cars, and climbing around big rocks to remain stealthy, but a few days later we discovered it was a public area and we can be there. But the thrill of that first visit made it the most memorable. ..And the most bloody. xD

You're the only guy I know who gets a hotel room so he could sleep outside behind a sign. On a scale of 1 to 10 I give that a thumbs up with a letter grade of 5 stars.
The sign info helped me to locate on google maps exactly where you were. In fact your pictures were included. Tried this trick before with little success. The background lights (cars, house and others) would help protect you. If I looked out the window of my house and saw one of your lights, I would just think it was one of the aforementioned lights. I sure as hell am not going to cross fast moving highway in the dark to investigate. Love your RUclips posts.
@@jlkulbacki Obviously it is a symptom of people not caring for or about one another. True, especially as still. But given how lit the sign itself is, could a position away to the side and hidden, but benefitting from that light to a degree be considered?
Here in Washington there is a lot of homeless that hunker down wherever they can. Most people in general won't even give a second glance, some will judge and keep moving, few will offer conversation, fewer still offer money or food. It's a tough life for them, living in constant fear as you felt seeing that quad. We must be grateful for what we have. Thank you. Keep doing what you do!

I mean...I've been homeless without a car. Just a backpack. One thing I highly recommend is a storage unit that's centrally located within the area that you'll be tramping around in. It makes things so much more convenient. No point lugging more stuff than you need all day...a stop at the storage unit in the morning to drop off the sleeping bag (and tent if it was a rainy night), pick up some fresh clothes, etc. Stop by again before they close to grab the sleeping bag, etc. Stuff gets cumbersome lugging it around all day.
The best system is grabbing your gear at night from the storage unit...sleeping bag, tent/tarp, bug spray, flashlight, soap, toothbrush, fresh clothes, etc. Then find a place to sleep thats not too far from fresh water, but far enough to avoid the bugs that come with it. In the morning hike to the water source and wash up, put on fresh clothes, then hike to storage and dump everything off until evening. If you're in an urban environment where there are a lot of other homeless people, chances are most businesses and the general public can be kind of intolerant towards smelly, sweaty people lugging backpacks...and many stores and restaurants dont allow backpacks because of the theft associated with homelessness. With a storage unit you avoid all of this, and just blend in like a regular person. Believe me, it sucks being treated like a homeless person.

I love how he acts like this is a HIGLY DANGEROUS MISSION. As if anyone driving by would even give a damn.
But someone might, and make that ringy dingy to the clingy, and boom camp is canceled.
But the thrill of that first visit made it the most memorable. ..And the most bloody. xD

Stealth camping are my favorite videos you do. Excellent job, thanks for all you do Steve!

They care more about their religions, possessions, and status than about their fellow human beings and that is quite a statement about how misguided their values are. Recreational homeless.
@Bubbilicious Bubblez homelessness doesn't come with beer??? What do you think the homeless people around you are doing?

Here in Washington there is a lot of homeless that hunker down wherever they can. Most people in general won't even give a second glance, some will judge and keep moving, few will offer conversation, fewer still offer money or food. It's a tough life for them, living in constant fear as you felt seeing that quad.
We must be grateful for what we have. Thank you.

@@ConquerCollin from Tacoma: Yes, some are drug addicts. But many, including the addicts, are battling mental illness and/or have some form of PTSD. Regardless, even if they did "choose" their situation, that doesn't mean you shouldn't have sympathy for or empathize with them. Pathetic mindset.
@@Dannutts They're human beings and they choose to keep living like that. You ever think of how many bridges they've burnt? How many friends they stole from? Those people have worked very hard to stay homeless. Treat them like a human not like a poor child or an animal

@SR MATLOCK Haha, I like fishing in lakes that have no fish. I get to fish without being bothered by catching one.
Oh people notice. They just don't care. As long as you tend to yourself, don't make a scene and don't make a mess, 99% of people will leave you alone.
Strange, I find myself scoping out places I would “camp” if I became homeless. Steve, You RULE!!
I've been homeless.
Most of these places wouldn't work very well.
Thanks for reading.
