Abandoned Campground Heat Wave Stealth Camping

- I finally got to camp in a spot I've been checking out for quite a while. It's an abandoned campground in the city of Edmonton Alberta. This was a city-owned campground and now it's just used as a park. It was quite hot, quite busy, but made for a very fun stealth camping trip. There was a heat warning of course, but not quite too hot for camping like last week.

That dog came closer to catching Steve than any human ever has.
3:43 The dog saw him and smelled him. The dog would normally bark at someone hiding in the bushes but he admired Steve's stealth technique a little too much to give up his position. Not barking was the dog's way of tipping his hat to Steve.
“They’ll all go back to their homes, watch TV, and I can get down to the business of making burritos in the woods.”

If you REALLY want to be stealthy, you don't cook hot food. Can of spam, shnieders pepperetts, can of beans, crackers, V8. All that extra weight in gear. Especially when its bitch hot and you don't need the calories. More room for step 2. Also jeans aren't a good choice for outdoor activities.
one of my favourite parts of these videos, apart from watching Steve hide from people like a nervous little kid, is seeing what gourmet meals he is going to prepare this time.
And his commentary/stories and crazy neighbor.
Steve!!! Please make a playlist of every video with crazy neighbor in it!
Tastes just like store-bought!
At this point I’m convinced that Steve just has extreme social anxiety and just wants to have a beer in peace
pretty sure he does I feel the same way all the time
Or 420 in peace as I am sober from alcohol :) not a drop since March 3 2015 But oh boy he sure does make the grass look greener on the other side, ayel!

He eats better outdoor than most do IN!
That really surprised me. The person with the dog actually commented that it was him, his wife, dog and kids. Cool coincidence.

There's just something oddly fascinating about these videos I'm a couple dozen in now and I just can't seem to stop watching.
I think it’s just really interesting to watch someone do something so unusual, in a very genuine and natural way (no crazy edits or “loudness” just a nice dude and a camera).
@@JasonandaCamera Fr. Part of it so appealing, bc he's actually genuine. And caring. But Doesn't care about content or making money off of it. Simply wants to share his adventures with us! But channels like his are simply not found on RUclips or the internet anymore
I'm late to the party but I couldn't agree more!
I find them highly addictive too!

I am thinking along the lines of "this isn't super entertaining but something about Steve's videos is incredibly fascinating and peaceful to me".
I never would have thought about watching stealth camping videos but here I am.

When you’re walking in the woods and suddenly hear a beer can open…you know Steve Wallis is nearby 😂

Good question about the beavers, Steve.
I have seen beavers cut down trees upstream and float them down the river to their dam. Can’t say that’s exactly what happened there, but it’s one way they move surprisingly large logs. Clever critters… They really are nature’s landscape architects!
Dude, you’re priceless. Had a hard time to stop laughing when you pulled apart the velcro bag and made that “I’m busted” face. 🤣🤣🤣 “Velcro is not stealthy.” Very true.

@Liberty over everything not when the branch has been broken. Breaking it and leaving it attached did nothing for the tree. Better to remove it completely.
@Jack Gull Holy cow I wouldn't be surprised if Steve makes that much or more. I follow another stealth camper couple who made over a $1000 USD one month but they only have about 5k subs. With more than 100x that number, Steve easily clear $10k/month.

So relaxing, Steve is absorbing the anxiety for me.. Thanks Steve. Great content for the crazy world we live in.
There's a huge park by my house in Colorado and during lockdown I really missed camping and backpacking. So I made a ring in the park of old tree branches and then wove grasses and weeds into the perimeter to create like a natural fence. I thought for sure it'd be discovered, but for 8 months I camped there along the river. I even left an old tent and chairs there. From the trail it was almost invisible. Finally a homeless man moved in and I told him it's his if he wanted, and he still lives there

Steve, you can buy dehydrated refried beans that are basically a staple for backpackers and campers. It would prevent you having to eat an entire can of slimy beans. They taste a hell of a lot better, and you get to decide how much of it you make. The main point is that the dehydrated ones taste infinitely better. The canned ones are a bit like dog food when you experience a better version.

Always picking up after himself and others, too. If everyone was like Steve, then camping would be a lot more freer. This is a thing that can happen. Culture can be built around promoting and exercising positive behavior.
Plenty of people pack it in pack it out, it is the others that wreck it for everyone sadly.
I don't think such people have been adequately called out. If they had any of their buddies say, "Hey, wtf, man?!" enough times, or flat out refuse to camp with them due to their littering behavior, then I think we could possibly see this sort of thing minimized.
Social pressure can be a powerful thing. Sometimes that's a bad thing, and sometimes it can be positive.
