OMG!! I know where you are camping!! I did a wild camp for 2day about a hundred yards away from where you are!! The bloke that owns the land is a total legend really nice guy. The story is before the owner got the land there was a load of drugged up hippies squatting on the land. When I saw the ambulance there was still a lot of mess around. He did a lot of work clearing the area up. There is a massive fox that walks about at night he is really handsome and I left my left over food out for every night. Got some great photos of him. Really is a beautiful place to camp. Next time your going down there let me know. Awesome video as always mate. 👍🏻
Actually, the hippies used to own that land and would throw parties there. The only squatter was the guy who owned the ambulance. People kept asking him to remove it, but he never did - much to the annoyance of everyone else.
I used to camp a lot when I was younger. I'm 52 years old now. But I've been watching your videos, and I'm waiting for a hot tent to be delivered this week. I already had the tent stove delivered. So I'm going camping this coming weekend thanks to you and watching your video.
I know what you mean i haven’t been since 20010/11 now at that age i feel the cold really bad like i’m 91 😂. I’m freezing when it’s 21 degrees in my house 🥶 but you are right i as well need to get back out there. Really we should be making our own videos not sat here watching others enjoying themselves,, we can do that when we are totally knackered. Wish you all the best 👍
From the 29 minute mark and on, my husband and I were laughing. Your attempts to make it seem ok followed by your honesty had us in stitches. We could just feel the damp penetrating cold and your eyes told the story. We thoroughly enjoyed this video.
That just doesn’t look real comfortable and not as cozy as your tenting where you can sit under your canopy and enjoy your surroundings. Doesn’t make we want to go camping. Of course it has never appealed to me but this looks just plain terrible. Yucky!!!!!
I love watching your videos. Thank you, Andy.. also, I wanted to mention thank you for not putting your videos behind a pay wall. I currently don’t have a job and while things are tough it’s nice to be able to watch your videos without having to pay, It helps me relax. ❤💪🏼
I'm a new subscriber, having only found your channel a few days ago. Well, I absolutely love your vids!!.. I came for the camping hacks, and stayed for the banter. Thank you for being a bit of an escape in this crazy world at present. Much love from New Zealand.
Andy you are quite the snack bug!! You've become a terrible inspiration to my husband and me, AND he went out and bought a lovely tin of Carnation Hot Chocolate! 4.5 TBSP rounded in a tablespoon, in a large coffee mug (17 oz). Had to get mini-marshmallows to have on top as well!! We have a cup with you now before bedtime. You're a terrible influence on us, but we love you anyway. Nancy & Ron Stewart, Brighton, Ontario, Canada!
Many years ago I came across a minibus waaaay out in the bush. I'd just been exploring, trying hard to get lost when I stumbled across it. The exterior was covered with moss and lichen, including the windows which were still intact. The door still worked and the inside was amazingly clean and dry. All the seats were out. You could tell it was a camper. Even had a raised bed platform. I so badly wanted to go back and camp in it, but could never find it again.
Back in the late 70's/early 80's, I did a lot of hitch hiking and hopping trains around America. I found a lot of abandoned campers and houses that I used to camp in. Back then we never called it "stealth" camping. We just called it a camp spot. One house in particular I stayed at for a week because it was in a great spot. Right next to a small river, and for some unknown reason, there was still water coming out of the tap. So I had plenty of water, and a river to fish in. Granted you don't find that kind of spot a lot, but when I did, I took advantage of it. Great video.
I wish I had come across this video earlier but I’m a retired Paramedic in the USA and I had thought of converting one of the ambulances I had worked on into an RV/camper. Now I wish I had because I can see a lot of potential in the one you’re using for shelter and supplies. Real shame it was just dumped in the forest I wonder if any junkies went through it looking for syringes
It is nice being warm, I do stuff like this in the wintertime as low as -20 Celsius with no shirt on and shorts lol. Sometimes I like to walk bare foot in the snow too.
Just now seeing your camp in the ambulance. My husband and I loved every step. We are big fans, we have watched your videos a long time. I especially love your cooking. Always look forward to seeing what you will be creating. Stay healthy and happy. 🤓❤️☺️
It certainly gave me a new insight into how some homeless people live/survive homelessness :( love your channel, it always gives me something to think about :) Thank you for the ups and downs
Ditto to what everyone else said! But also i really love that little stove! It was very clever using tent pegs as support to heat the water in that container! Love your videos!
I've lived in Mexico for 24 years and really missed forest camping. I began camping on my roof during the pandemic. Sun keeps eating up my tents but i love being outside
Owls... the area where I live has quite a great horned owl population. One night, I was out on my deck having a fire. A great horned owl in one of the trees in my yard called out. Then another in my neighbor's yard. Then one in the tree at the end of my driveway. Then one across the street. One down the road a ways, one up the road a ways... and it kept going. I think we had a good 8 to 10 great horned owls all calling out within a rather short distance surrounding my house. It was a really interesting night.
Haha. Andy. Great video. I recognise that van. Camped right next to it last year for my birthday. Great memories. Been watching you for years and recently just started rewatching all your vids from the very beginning and loving the evolution.
That makes 3 van campers that visit the area... the hauling out some of the smaller bits like Andy piled up might be a help to the guy that has been cleaning up the property... just a step beyond hauling your own garbage in the leave no trace campaign that has been started by some hikers... like going for a walk on a beach and hauling some of the trash that washes up at least to the garbage cans that are provided in park parking areas...
Cool Andy! I love how your channel mixes things up and not same thing each week. You have some good stuff going over there. Thank you for the great content Sir.
The only issue I have with liquid fuel, is the fact that if it gets knocked over it can spill and cause a huge fire! In the United States they have a product called Sterno which is an enclosed gel inside of a similar type can and if it tips over there's no liquid to pour out.
I am glad you have a good sense of humor because this was a difficult place to camp for the night. That poor old ambulance had more holes in it than a slice of Swiss cheese. It was a very good choice to bring that little wood stove with you, what would you have done without it!
it can snow up to 4°c and sleet up to 8°c. and it at least does do that in the southwest. an old workmate used to say 'its too cold to snow', which might otherwise be true but it'll never get there in cornwall/kernow.
Well, well Sir Kent that was a smashing location and it pleases me that you think outside the box. I am a survivalist and enjoyed that you took an apocalyptic approach, CHEERS LAD

I have a couple of old British military sleepings bags, one of which is a pattern 58 bag with a waterproof base. Got it in 1997. I often put another modern bag inside it and have slept outside in all weathers, no tent, and still woken up warm & dry. Your videos make me want to get out and explore a bit more.

@@clintashmead3558 Yes, and it's interesting that in this video the owls were kicking up a fuss and in the Camper vibe one the crows all started cawing in the middle of the night... Something certainly spooked them!

I can guarantee that if I had a stove set up like that, as soon as I opened the door to load more wood, there would be a pop, a shower of sparks and multiple holes in my air mattress! Another excellent video Andy, you've got your spot picked out ready for the apocalypse...
I would love to see another attempt, but perhaps bring space blankets to place up on the walls to reflect the stoves heat back at you. I very much enjoy this kind of video, camping in abandoned places or vehicles.
You are very talented framing shots and getting adequate lighting. How long does it generally take you to set up a shot? You must be working quickly to be setting up camp at the same time!
You really should make a project from that ambulance, ita would be a nice winter camp, get Simon to help you flip it over, You 2 could make a nice getaway out of it, great video
That looked super cozy in that ambulance, great looking steak as well. Some hot coco to end it all, life doesn't get any better than this, does it Andy 😃Great video ❤
THIS is the LAST place I would camp with hunting going on in the forest. In the USA abandoned 'stuff' becomes a target for casual marksmanship. Nor does this wreck suggest 'shelter' very much. We will see how it goes.
@@ghostwhite1648 I own 200 achers that's marked every 5 ft around the perimeter and people still just don't care. We chase people out every hunting season.

I can guarantee that if I had a stove set up like that, as soon as I opened the door to load more wood, there would be a pop, a shower of sparks and multiple holes in my air mattress! Another excellent video Andy, you've got your spot picked out ready for the apocalypse...
Good stuff mate 😊
Who else was waiting for the NHS Nurses both male & female to turn up in their stockings & suspenders to rescue Andy from the Ambulance wreckage? LOL
Ah,nobody,I think you might have an over active imagination..
I am like a carry on movie! Maybe babs would pop out with the skid whistle 😂 oooh matron
I don't know why your channel popped up today but have watched 3 &1/2 episodes so far going to subscribe because of the fire in the stove 😂❤
What?! A stealth camp?!! Sweet!
Can't wait for the weekend!
Cheers from the Prairies of Canada! 🍻🇨🇦
Do you ever get scared camping on your own Andy ? Different sort of video than you normally do , but enjoyed it . Keep safe 😊
The part she found the van is at 16:17 the RUclipsr camping life and the title is called 48 hours alone and she said the woods were hunted
I always wonder how on earth vehicles end up in a woodland like that. wow
Joyriders probably 😢
@@TheErador Nope It was no joy riders. I know just how it came to be there
@@1220b cool. Fishing much? Or are you going to elucidate?
@@TheErador sometimes a mystery is best left as it is. But it's nice to see the ambulance after 22 years. Time flies...
I assume the ambulance wandered off the trail, got lost, eventually starved to death, and fell over dead. Quite sad.
Love the video as always. I just wish you would have thrown all the junk out of there and the broken glass before you set up camp.
I've actually camped here before. Really nice woodland, great spot.
You really should make a project from that ambulance, ita would be a nice winter camp, get Simon to help you flip it over, You 2 could make a nice getaway out of it, great video
Thank you for the lovely video and all the work you put into it 👌💪
As the D was missing from the grill it said BEDFOR so it was labelled correctly bed for the night! 😁
🤣
That looked super cozy in that ambulance, great looking steak as well. Some hot coco to end it all, life doesn't get any better than this, does it Andy 😃Great video ❤
THIS is the LAST place I would camp with hunting going on in the forest. In the USA abandoned 'stuff' becomes a target for casual marksmanship. Nor does this wreck suggest 'shelter' very much. We will see how it goes.
Hes on his own property and my guess is its marked if theres normally hunters
@@ghostwhite1648 huh?
@@ghostwhite1648 I own 200 achers that's marked every 5 ft around the perimeter and people still just don't care. We chase people out every hunting season.
It's not his property. @@ghostwhite1648
