Thanks so much everyone. Knowing so many of you enjoy my music makes me shudder with delight. Want to help me out? drop me a like, comment letting me know your favorite tracks, tell your friends, and don't forget, you can own this album for the measly sum of £4 on Bandcamp!
Holy fuck, I just realised you made the music for your straight line missions, that gives me a whole new level of respect for you. Great work man, one of my favourite content producers!
Ahead of us, nothing but fields. Our spirits were up. Little did we know, that behind that little hill ahead, an unexpectedly wide river was about to test our resolve, not to mention how waterproof our backpacks would turn out to be. Welsh Greg was not fazed, but with my boots already having filled themselves with swamp water only 5 minutes earlier, I was definitely not in the mood for a swim.
These tracks fit the Mission Across Wales so well. The whole vibe of that series was amazing, and this music really added to that! I didn't know you made them yourself! What games inspired the making of this if any?
A lot of old SEGA/Nintendo draw inspiration from 70s jazz fusion and jazz in general. Tell me this just doesn't scream 'early Japanese game soundtrack' - especially the first couple of minutes. ruclips.net/video/AKgjOCuW_MU/видео.html (Casiopea - Galactic Funk)
I can for sure hear some of the instruments from Sonic 2 and X-Men on sega genesis, the snares and the basses in boulder zone (inspired by the typical zone naming of sonic levels probably)
From one geoguessr fan and musician to another, I'm loving this. So cool to see how far you've come :) Would love to know more about how you went about creating it!
Originally watched the 1st Mission Across Wales video when it came out, thought it was cool, and just kind of left it at that. Decided 4 years later that I wanted to go watch it again because I remember it being such a fun adventure, and the commentary was enjoyable. To my pleasure, Tom uploaded 7 more missions! All jam packed with more adventure, a few just a complete rollercoaster of emotion. Absolutely love the mischief this man goes through, and having taken the last few days to binge watch through all of them...needless to say, I cannot wait to see more in the future. Gorgeous OST, awesome bloke, smashing fun, and just riveting adventure. I simply can not get enough.
I saw this in my recommendations without looking at the uploader and thought "yeah im in the mood for a 16-bit adventure" A few notes in it all clicked
That main theme sticks in my head like Tom stuck to the side of a wet Welsh ravine!! Cheers Geowizard, you inspire adventure and joy in all your followers, and this album is only another great example of that. Bought it for two pints so I could imagine us sharing them while enjoying it.
I don't know how, but this just taps into my inner happiness reserves. I've had a no short of shit day, I listen to this, and immediately, I uncontrollably smile in happiness of all the adventures and good times I've got to see
Can we also take a moment to appreciate that artwork by Connor James & Raymond Frans?? I think all it's missing is a silhouette of a man rowing a kayak across the lake down below
Merrily boats sounds like something straight out of Stardew Valley, I love it. The whole album is fantastic, I've been watching your vids since before the first mission across wales and I can confidently say your IRL videos are the videos I most look forward to seeing on all of youtube. Thanks for all the fantastic content.
This is the best album since Minecraft Alpha! The way you've managed to capture the same feeling and emotion with your missions as a game grossing over a billion dollars' worth of sales is mind blowing. I normally listen to the classics such as The Beatles or Stones so my music playlist is pretty exclusive realestate yet this album has somehow struck me and has a solid place amongst the greats!
Flower Glade Zone is just too iconic, and the whole album is fantastic. So impressed you make such good videos AND music. Can't wait to see more of both.
Waleswave 🎧 just one more hedgerow and one more tangled forest ❤️ feels so nostalgic even tho I only watched it all earlier this year XD Thanks for this, Tom!
Dude, this is incredible. When I watched your Wales series I was wondering where the music came from. Awesome job! Looking forward to what the Norway soundtrack will be like
Kind of crazy how the first straight line video came out only like a year and a half ago but all of us have such an intense feeling of nostalgia associated with the music
Holy crap I didn’t know you made these beats, these are amazing and I will put this on whenever I’m studying next or doing work. I love this album and your tube videos! Keep up the great work man!!!!
This is a great album in and of itself. But having found it after watching all your adventures, it's no longer just an album. It's a soundtrack that takes me back to all those lovely moments. Love it!
Awesome album. For all the entertainment and laughs you’ve brought, least I can do is purchase this nostalgic album and play it for a great reminder of childhood video games. All the best from Nashville.
wow this is incredible, An Opening is so refreshing and nostalgic, when I heard it in one of your videos I was convinced this was some classic video game tune. I've been playing it using a slide and a loop pedal on the guitar and it sounds great, what a tune well done mate!
Tom Davies here... Long time lover of mischief and adventure... . . . . This is how it all started. I love your series.. Can't wait for more adventures, Tom
I honestly thought this was a Megadrive video game soundtrack I just never heard of before. When I found out this was your music I was seriously impressed. Seriously well done - not many people go the extra mile of having their own soundtrack in their video production!
Fun fact: Ever since I first heard the songs I wanted to know what they were, and asked multiple times in the comments. Never found out. Then just now I was going through my discover weekly on spotify and heard "An Opening". I was completely petrified and hit by nostalgia and was trying to remember what it was from. Then the vision of that 4:3 Welsh land along with your voice started to form and then I realised. Seems like spotify knows me creepily well, but I'm thankful for finding it.
