Really does evoke that feeling of browsing through long dead message boards. Like walking through a digital ghost town except all the previous residents are there frozen; snapshots of people stuck in time, cursed to be trapped in the abandoned digital halls and temples. I wonder if medieval peasants looked upon the ancient decaying Roman architecture decades or even centuries after Rome's fall and felt a similar feeling.

I found this album around October or November of last year. It was a pretty quiet time in my life, I was working a field tester construction job that had very sporadic hours and I was living alone for the time being since my job was too far from where I live to stay home. Now when I go back and listen to certain songs on this album I get filled with a deep feeling of quiet nostalgia, I get taken back to how I used to be driving to my job at 5am listening to this album and how back then I thought I hated being awake at such hours but now I kind of miss having moments like that. Thank you, PilotRedSun
Some dude did this. On his own, likely. With no incentive, funding, or any reason beyond that he wanted to and it made him happy. That makes me happy. This is legitimately art made from passion and I appreciate that a lot.
Trying to mentally deconstruct Pilotredsun's music and why I find it so charming. It has all the elements of a lightweight, electronic synth outfit, but it has a "wobble" to its elements. Like when you are standing on a high balcony, holding onto a sturdy handrail... But your brain says "what if this bar would break off in your hands like a cheeto?" It's musically playful. Randomised without reducing the music to unlistenable garbage. A very conventional set of sounds which has been lovingly tampered with. A weird pitchbend here, a drop-note, two thirds into a bridge. Why not? This piece of genius still subverts my expectations. If you haven't done already, buy it and support the guy...

This album helped me cope with my parents divorce when I was a kid, I remember there was an announcement for it and when it came out I listened to it every day. I remember my 7th grade teacher gave me an assignment to write about a song that meant something to me and I chose Warsaw cause it made me feel ok despite everything. Looking back on the album now that I’m grown and out of the house makes me feel better still about my current turmoils. Thank you pilotredsun
seeing so many comments about how Pilotredsun reminds people of a certain stage of their life makes me feel so happy. I am glad we can all share the same love that pilotredsuns music has given us.
Listened to this album driving home from work on a rainy night while drinking a strawberry milkshake and it was possibly the most soul touching experience I've ever had in my entire life. Thank you pilotredsun
I had an experience like that on a quiet road during a warm summer night with the moonroof open and a full moon up above and in front of me as I rose and fell a few hills. Those images are still burnt in my mind so many years later. It was like I could feel the universe speaking to me, and they were more beautiful and chill than I could ever describe.
i used to be obsessed with this album a year or two ago, and for some reason today the beat to warsaw randomly got stuck in my head even though i literally haven't listened to this album in forever, so i came back to check it out and it's still so cool :) warsaw is still my fav

Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Garfielf came out in 2013, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. In 2016, PilotRedSun released this, "Achievement", their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Bodybuilder", a song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity, and the importance of trends, it's also a personal statement about the youtube channel itself.
I always find PilotRedSun again in the depths of the night while I’m at my lowest and always shortly after finding him again, my life changes in drastic ways. I experience nostalgia listening to this album, but this time I also have an underlying feeling of regret. Listening to PilotRedSun reminds me of a promise I made to myself, to never conform to a standard work life and to never loose my creativity. I was a gifted kid and always seen myself being an artist, a musician, a designer or a writer.. now I’m down in the corporate hell with the rest of them. I allowed the world to kill my creativity and let them tarnish my dreams. It’s time for a change again, I’ll rise from the ashes
PilotRedSun has been an art inspiration for so much of my life. I’m a high school drop out and recently quit my job. I’m straight broke, no savings, and relying on my family, who lost hope for me. I don’t have anything to my name but my own art now. worlds crumbling. friends are changing in ways that scare me. and I still have PilotRedSun. I still have Achievement. I still have the art that inspires me and the senses to be able to enjoy that art like I always have. so I’m happy. I’m thankful to have what I do. Thanks for sharing this.
@Duckiegoquackquack that’s alright to be finding yourself, man. assuming you’re 17/18, that’s usually the time most people start searching for something they want to do with their life. I’m sorry that things you enjoyed were soured by your family, but if you truly do like it and want to do it for work then just go for it. find a job that can cover you and spend remaining time working on yourself, doing things that bring you joy. (don’t burn yourself out though, relax when you need it) my parents were very neglectful when I was a child, and refused to listen to me whenever I begged to start art classes or do theatre. they didn’t start listening to me until I was finishing middle school, and it was purely out of interest of making money. stuff like that is hard and can make you want to quit, but the best way to get back at others is to be happy anyways. if nothing else, turn that frustration into inspiration too. there’s plenty of voice acting gigs out there and endless ways to illustrate and animate to your hearts content. I relate to the kid thing a lot-I’m 4’10 and have a soft squishy baby face. but that’s alright. we don’t have to rush into being adults, since we really aren’t. legally sure, but us and all our friends are still just bigger and more stressed out children. see that as an advantage; you got time on your side. your youthfulness is a good thing even if it feels like a hindrance now. it’s a long and rocky road ahead of us and that’s okay. we don’t know each other at all, but we’re in this together. whenever I’m embarrassed or feel like my interests will get me nowhere, I tell myself that that’s where most people fail. if it feels like you’re at a dead end, build a new path of your design.
You probably heard it already but make the most of your youth! So much is possible with this young energy you have bro like you wouldn’t believe what your capable of or what you can grow into.
This feels like the soundtrack to the golden era of the internet - you know what im talking about - newgrounds, myspace, old forum pages for long dead games, napster and limewire. back when shit wasn't so heavy and the internet was just a place to fuck about for a couple of hours. i miss that
Why you gotta bring me back, Guy. I was just getting used to the Hell of modernity, then you come up and hit me with those heady Halcyon feelings. For shame.
i mean not the golden era of the internet necessarily, just your childhood. which makes it no less worthy and i'm happy you have something to look back on fondly
this album is very special to me. back in 2018, i used to listen to this album every single day religiously with my friends. we played team fortress 2 and this soundtrack was just a perfect vibe. i was 15, had a passion for the game and loved everything. but as the years passed, we grew away from each other and i had completely forgotten about this masterpiece. hearing deathly again after 3 years hit me like a truck, having me reminisce about the great times i used to have with my friends. at that time, i had it pretty rough. addiction, general depression, mood swings and typical teenage drama just piled up and made me feel incomplete. but i had this album at least. this album was an escape for me, knowing i could calm myself down to the wonderful tunes of greetings, fat cat, casino night, warsaw, and basically every single track on this album. i used to be super down but when i wanted to be happy again, i put on this album and it just erased my thoughts. i miss those days, but i look back happily, knowing that this album still exists. thank u pilotredsun for making this phenomenal project that has helped me through struggles, addiction and heartbreak several times and that is undoubtedly, in my opinion, one of the greatest musical art pieces of all time.
All irony and memes aside, this is some amazing music if I've ever heard any, and I keep coming back to it. I think your underlying talent is what makes your stuff worth watching, and differentiates you from all the crud out there. I've seen a lot of derivations of the whole garfielf things and they all descend into vulgarity to try and be funny, while your stuff has that weird interesting aura about it, without even needing swearwords, which is to say something! It's a very unique thing you've got going on here, and I pray, to whatever god it's convenient to pray to, that you continue.Cheers!
I love how most of the songs in this album start with a really simple tune, and it starts to build off of that, with an occasional game changer (like in bodybuilder). I dunno, maybe that's a normal thing to do when producing music, but something about PilotRedSun's music is just really ear catching.
I can't believe this came out 7 years ago😭 this music has been playing in the background of my mind for a couple years now, this truly is one of my favourite albums of all time
Depression about the current state of society, fear/depression about the future, nostalgia for the past, especially a time before you were even born or an idealized version of a particular era.
Feels like I'm in some sort of fantasy world where everything should be perfect, but everything is just slightly off, giving you the feeling that something is about to go horribly wrong
God, I love this album. Everything from the kind of wonky chord progression on fat cat, the twittering percussion on warsaw, to the very sweet and inspiring final sequence of bodybuilder, is just incredible. This album is probably the biggest inspiration for my own music and I can't thank you enough.
I love how in "bodybuilder" you get a sad but aspiring melody, a snap, then a drastic change to a more upbeat, bold tune. Interpreting it as you pushing through, and then actually achieving. Marvellous piece.
I listed to this track when it first came out. The most memorable moments when I was listening was after high school graduated and I was working the 4th at a fireworks warehouse. On the days when nobody would come in we would play this over the loudspeakers. I have to admit it was a more simple life that I lived, the sound of these tracks take me back there every time I listen. Thanks for the memories
@@theeveronever1554 every track is special in their own way. My favorites are Greetings and Warsaw and its kinda sad that not many people share my opinion
This entire album gives me nostalgia. Kind of like old computers, vhs tapes, newgrounds, and older youtube. I can’t quite explain it, but it just has that sound to me.
This album reminds me of my years in Highschool. It feels like those days of hanging out with friends, going through classes, going to the mall, taking the train home, struggling with homework, finding out what to do after it's all done but also not caring about it. I listened to this album, and PRS's music throughout almost the entirety of my highschool years. It helped me through depression and calmed me down considerably. It made me fantasize of worlds i wished to explore. It's gotten to the point where, every dream i wake up from, i could swear PRS's music was playing in the background... Thanks, Pilot, for creating such wonderful tunes.
MS Paint drawing that looks like something a little kid would have made in like 2000, combined with various parts of the album sounding like music from early '90s PC games.
The music and the image make a weird emotion that is extremely hard to describe. A mixture of nostalgia, bizarreness and the feeling that gives you an existential crisis
@@somethingwithbungalows no it's not a liminal space type thing. I would say it's more just like playing pinball on an old microsoft computer or something. Not creepy but very dated and abandoned/forgotten.
I'm reading these comments and feeling glad that I'm not the only one who's really been moved by this silly little album. It's comforting and nostalgic, and my go-to album for when I'm not feeling particularly happy or sad, but maybe just a little empty, and need some music just to fill me up.
Just thinking back to last year, I remember listening to Bodybuilder, waiting at the terminal for my flight to LA to visit a friend. My ex and I had broken up just a few months prior, and she was still on my mind constantly. I was excited for the trip and to get away from home for a while. It felt like my first real effort to move on, and it gave me this weird feeling of pain but release. Every time I listen again I get the feeling back. Anyways, time to rise and shine.
100% nailed it with your "dream-like surrealism" description. I can hardly believe someone managed to create music this unique and so far removed from everything else out there, and yet here it is. I am grateful for having stumbled across it.
This provides a feeling of weird remorse or dread mixed with nostalgia like not getting some kind of contact from a friend when you move schools or when you remember the time you uncovered an otherworldly bizarre and creepy video years ago when you were a young kid or something it's difficult to describe but that's what I feel
I actually relate to the moving schools and losing contact with friends part; I found this album right before I moved away and it's helped me a lot since then.
Can't describe the feeling of when I listened to this album back in 2022's Christmas Eve, taking up a Job working for a fishmarket for 2 days and being the most toughest labour I could've imagined at the time. I'd reach Bodybuilder and my dad would drop me off at my destination, as I turn off my phone and the sun would get hotter in Sydney's CBD. There's just a weird atmosphere listening to PRS' work as I go work there, but its certainly A PLEASANT feeling I cherish to this day. Fatcat and Snowday feel like my favourite underrated tracks, maybe Canals too. But Achievement shouldn't be slept on like other contemporary newgrounds artists cuz this stuff is just good :D
woa, everything here has that nostalgic feeling, yet something is inexplicably WRONG, i mean, they feel both comfortable and unsettling. i think it has a lot to do with how the melodies are set up. they're set up and they start 'normal', and seem predictable, but seem to go in a different direction as soon as i start to follow along. i really noticed this in 'casino night', like, i would not be able to hum along when listening the first time. the common patterns of the music industry just don't appear here. love it, this has such a unique quality.
Casino Night is like a song that was already playing in my head for years before I heard it, like it had synced with my brain wavelength a decade ago and left its imprint on the halls of my mind. Can't really explain it any other way, but it was something I could hum along to instantly. I understand what you mean, tho.
this album still means so much to me all these years later, all the art you've done, its all so inspiring. thank you, and I hope you keep finding peace in what you enjoy
These songs make me feel so many emotions...happy, kinda bubbly, and a little bit sad. For a dude who makes cryptic animations with no direct message or purpose, you make really good music, PilotRedSun. I listen to these when I’m crying in bed or playing Battlefield, and even when I wanna make myself cry so I can feel better afterwards. It’s amazing how these songs can make someone feel so many emotions at the same time. It’s amazing. Please make more music. These are masterpieces, I can’t express with words how good your music is. On the slim chance that you’ll see this comment, perhaps you can give it a like or response of some kind so I know that you got the message? I have no favorite song. All of these are equally emotional with their own unique feel. I’ve never been this obsessive and enthusiastic about any artist. Make more music and add it to little formatted videos containing each one, please. I’ll see ya in the next 4-5 months!~
I first listened to this album during the summer of 2016 when I was still a dumb freshman in high school. I still remember listening to greetings during the sunset with a girl I pining over at the time and the lazy, comfy feeling of limbo that accompanied it. I still come back to this album every once in a while even 6 years on. It's still such a nostalgic album for me even after I've become such a different person from what I once was. I'm glad I was around to experience this album when I did.
These comments coupled with the music gives off this vibe of nostalgia and community, the likes I've never really felt before. I see myself interacting with everything and I'm blown away with the support this album is getting, even 3 years on. Thanks PRS!
@@nonamechannl makes me think of an old game called Earthbound. The music is whimsical, yet alien which causes our brain to perceive a sort of “uncanny”. I dunno. It’s hard to put into words.
I love this album but for some reason it seems kind of off, idk how to really explain it, but whenever I listen to it I feel sad yet happy, and kind of lonely. Reminds me of when I would play animal crossing on the GameCube for hours on end when I was younger because I didn’t have a lot friends. Back in those days animal crossing made me happy, but also made me feel so lonely and couldn’t help but feel like all I was doing was wasting time. I haven’t felt that way in years until now , while listening to the album. Best adjective I could think of to describe the album is bitter sweet, anyone else agree?
The album definitely has some very interesting chords and harmonies, it is definitely not going for straightforward major or minor sounds, and it definitely has that slightly creepy vibe while also not doing the normal way of doing that with too much aggressive dissonance or noise. It's all very musical but it is definitely designed to evoke slightly off emotions. I think its really good at doing that.
I remember hearing the first song on the album and thinking how amazing it was, but then hearing the rest and feeling very underwhelmed. But then after only a couple plays, I am unable to hear any song on here without wanting to hear the entire album, it's crazy how much it grows on you. I always feel like I'm enjoying it more and more.
I keep coming back to this album. I just haven't been able to find anything that makes me feel quite like it. It's just pure, concentrated nostalgia with a sense of wonder. Makes me feel like I'm floating, standing still.
For some reason bodybuilder drums up being in elementary school in the early 2000s. Booting up the old PC to play Age of Mythology, or discovering the internet, my pet hamster, not worrying about schoolwork until after summer is over, still living with family. Now I’m the head of a family. Time flies.
@@canobenitez Many nostalgic things from my life are definitely repeated in my own home, just like how I still cling to the nostalgia of my father too. It’s certainly a great thing to bond over!

@@radioreactivity3561 Most interesting was how the stargate was powered. There was a crystal/mineral on their planet that ripped holes in space and time whenever it resonated with anything. The way it fractured led many to believe that it was the scale of a dragon. The stargate used that crystal in its construction. All the chevrons of the stargate were made of that mineral. The co-ordinates for that planet were on the base of the dialing unit. How the stargate ended up in the basement? Built upon an ancient ruins. I think other instances of that mineral have appeared on Earth, mostly deliberate attempts to advance our teleportation capabilities, with the resonance frequencies carved into the crystals.

(don’t burn yourself out though, relax when you need it)
my parents were very neglectful when I was a child, and refused to listen to me whenever I begged to start art classes or do theatre. they didn’t start listening to me until I was finishing middle school, and it was purely out of interest of making money. stuff like that is hard and can make you want to quit, but the best way to get back at others is to be happy anyways. if nothing else, turn that frustration into inspiration too. there’s plenty of voice acting gigs out there and endless ways to illustrate and animate to your hearts content.
@Duckiegoquackquack yea man!! whichever way life takes you, you can make it work. live the dream. and hey, nice music taste. :] cheers!
You probably heard it already but make the most of your youth! So much is possible with this young energy you have bro like you wouldn’t believe what your capable of or what you can grow into.

this album is very special to me.
back in 2018, i used to listen to this album every single day religiously with my friends. we played team fortress 2 and this soundtrack was just a perfect vibe. i was 15, had a passion for the game and loved everything. but as the years passed, we grew away from each other and i had completely forgotten about this masterpiece. hearing deathly again after 3 years hit me like a truck, having me reminisce about the great times i used to have with my friends.
at that time, i had it pretty rough. addiction, general depression, mood swings and typical teenage drama just piled up and made me feel incomplete. but i had this album at least. this album was an escape for me, knowing i could calm myself down to the wonderful tunes of greetings, fat cat, casino night, warsaw, and basically every single track on this album. i used to be super down but when i wanted to be happy again, i put on this album and it just erased my thoughts.
i miss those days, but i look back happily, knowing that this album still exists. thank u pilotredsun for making this phenomenal project that has helped me through struggles, addiction and heartbreak several times and that is undoubtedly, in my opinion, one of the greatest musical art pieces of all time.

woa, everything here has that nostalgic feeling, yet something is inexplicably WRONG, i mean, they feel both comfortable and unsettling. i think it has a lot to do with how the melodies are set up. they're set up and they start 'normal', and seem predictable, but seem to go in a different direction as soon as i start to follow along. i really noticed this in 'casino night', like, i would not be able to hum along when listening the first time. the common patterns of the music industry just don't appear here. love it, this has such a unique quality.

I haven’t felt that way in years until now , while listening to the album. Best adjective I could think of to describe the album is bitter sweet, anyone else agree?
Wow this is pretty sad fam
agreeable, greetings specifically makes me think of an old friend i've fallen out of touch with
2013DIANA.mixtape i can relate
The album definitely has some very interesting chords and harmonies, it is definitely not going for straightforward major or minor sounds, and it definitely has that slightly creepy vibe while also not doing the normal way of doing that with too much aggressive dissonance or noise. It's all very musical but it is definitely designed to evoke slightly off emotions. I think its really good at doing that.
That's actually how I spent almost all of middle school. Same game too.
for me it's just for calm, "strange" mood. like when the sky is gray. and there's nobody around. feel of emptiness.
espessially the song rain jacket and shorts
I remember hearing the first song on the album and thinking how amazing it was, but then hearing the rest and feeling very underwhelmed. But then after only a couple plays, I am unable to hear any song on here without wanting to hear the entire album, it's crazy how much it grows on you. I always feel like I'm enjoying it more and more.

My special depression playlist
@@StudioMod Sorry you are also depressed. For me this album makes me very calm and detached which isnt always a bad thing. Hang in there homie
It’s so awesome and somewhat nostalgic!
i still listen to this every now and then, listened to this since this came out the same year my depression started
I can't believe that I've been listening to this for nearly three years. Can't wait for the next one.
MegaEvilsaurus how’s it been
You're lucky. I'm just getting to it now
cael blanch yeahhhh
I keep coming back to this album. I just haven't been able to find anything that makes me feel quite like it. It's just pure, concentrated nostalgia with a sense of wonder.
Makes me feel like I'm floating, standing still.
For some reason bodybuilder drums up being in elementary school in the early 2000s. Booting up the old PC to play Age of Mythology, or discovering the internet, my pet hamster, not worrying about schoolwork until after summer is over, still living with family. Now I’m the head of a family. Time flies.
❤
if you play this when they are young, your kids will feel the same way you do
@@canobenitez Many nostalgic things from my life are definitely repeated in my own home, just like how I still cling to the nostalgia of my father too. It’s certainly a great thing to bond over!
I miss Age of Mythology. Lol
Just discovered pilotredsun today, June 14 2023. I love it when I come across a good musical artist with music that fits my vibe. Not even finished listening to "Achievement" and looking foreward to delving into all of this artists music.
i know it's 7 months late, but if you want more music by him check out Pilotredsky - it's his dedicated music channel
28:06 that sudden change in the music, I don't have enough words to say how good this makes me feel, it's tracks like these that make me realize how lucky I am to be able to hear and listen, this whole album is gold
Thank you PilotRedSun

Like that one time you found a stargate in your basement and dialed it to a planet of intelligent dragons, those were the days
@@1d10tcannotmakeusername Angels with Scaly Wings in the nutshell.
I think other instances of that mineral have appeared on Earth, mostly deliberate attempts to advance our teleportation capabilities, with the resonance frequencies carved into the crystals.
amenoia (anemoia?) is the word for that
Aphex type drums with Boards of Canada type melodies and synths. So full of life and emotion, truly an amazing album

idk if this makes any sense but yeah, i have psychosis, and it puts me in these weird but long cycles of "crisis". and to deal with those kinds of crisis i have a thing called a "crisis plan" and that stretches out into "crisis music" and later on "crisis exercise" (and "crisis food" , basically a list of foods that comfort me and are available at all times, ex. noodles, biscuits, fruit ), basically things that don't envoke my delusions or trigger intrusive thoughts, however, do help me calm down. I put this on there because it calms me down and just reminds me of sitting in a field on a warm day or sitting on your porch playing Minecraft and waiting for the storm to pass. having constants such as specific music like this and other things helps me a lot, i appreciate your work for being bizzare but also not intrusive
I hope you are still doing ok👍🏾

Thank you, PilotRedSun. Thank you, 2016.
around a year ago i was listening to this album pretty heavily. also around that time i had just been dropped by friends i had known for years. i was doing long distance that didn’t work out. i was baby sitting for a child with autism who’s father left early on and left the mother with next to no money so she had to live with her mother and father who was dying of dementia. i cannot describe how much emotion this music evokes in me
wherever you are right now i hope you're doing well my friend
I fell asleep while listening to this. had the most bizarre dream i’ve ever had for a while. 10/10 would fall asleep to again.
What was the dream you can’t just say stuff like this and not tell us what the dream was
@@hiphyro I fell asleep to this and had a dream where I was at school and fell asleep. I had a dream where my friends were talking about tiktoks and while I watched RUclips. I saw a video of my friend’s OC, Jaiki but he’s animated and and doing tiktoks of him murdering bald people. when I woke up, me and some other students were with a teacher to make a tiktok. after we recorded it, the teacher held up a middle finger and then we needed to fight the electro hypostasis from genshin impact.
@@swintina I genuinely didn’t think you’d respond thanks for responding
That does sound like a wild dream haha, it’s kinda similar to my dreams in the way that events kinda just suddenly transition from one to the other despite them usually not being very similar.

it feels like nostalgia, like memories from the 2000s i cant remember but cant forget, like the soundtrack to a hundred indie games that dont exist, feels like its own world and story in itself.
