0:00... At the start you don't see anything. Then a music is heard, calm but catchy. Then you notice pictures, places, people. You don't know them, but you can't wait, for sure. You smile and open your eyes. You are at your desk, facing a book. Your warm thatched cottage is welcoming, inviting you to stay with it. Yet you still feel the freshness of the morning creeping under your door. The window, shutters and curtains open, lets glimpse a landscape. 4:05... You open the door and start to run, playfully. Along the way, you dodge slimes, jump over them or kick them. Even little birds are trying to knock you down, but you are quicker than them. A tree collapsed on the road? No problem, you climb it and start sketching dance steps to annoy the slimes. You jump up and continue on your way, slowly climbing back up to the top of the mountain. You have already taken this road during your childhood, nothing can happen to you. 7:55... You noticed this strange opening in the mountain ... a cave! You rush into it and contemplate his majesty. It is completely frosted, from floor to ceiling. At this altitude, the monsters have evolved. Ice golems of all shapes and sizes, and even snow, roam the cave. The latter consists of corridors and large rooms, supported by huge pillars. The ground is slippery so you proceed with greater caution, wonder still filling your eyes. You don't even feel the cold anymore. 12:05... But there, in a room, a strange white and hairy mass stands still. Not for long in fact, only when you arrive, it finally moves. She stands on her two hind legs, three times your height ... a polar bear, the ugliest you have ever seen. Quickly, he attacks you. Each attack from her is dodged by your incredible agility, further infuriating the beast. You still attempt to attack it with your machete, with each opening providing an opportunity to take down the monster that doesn't give you any gifts. but he manages to hit you, sending you over a wall. You feel your bones breaking and let out a cry. By the time you understand the situation, the bear charges you, almost smirking mischievously. At least, do you really notice it? No time for that, you hit the wall of ice with your machete, shattering it to pieces and causing a chain reaction. The ceiling collapses and cracks the floor. It opens beneath your feet, dragging you into darkness with the beast, which howls in rage and frustration. 16:06... "He's awake! I won my bet!" yells a cheerful voice. You open one eye, visibly still weakened by your fight against the polar bear. "Greetings, young man. I am Hancock, the doctor in this town. My grandson found you in the river, covered with bruises and cuts. Luckily I was able to heal you and you finally woke up. It's gonna be two weeks, though. If you can get up, go ahead but take care of yourself. Take some rest and eat some food for as long as you want. " As the old man talks to you and his grandson takes the money from some curious people watching you at the window, you get up and walk out of the house. You are in pain but you have known much worse. The town is called "Bridge Town" and you travel among its alleys and meet its inhabitants. You even help some with their needs, like recovering a grandmother's glasses that were lost in the forest, bringing the chickens back to their enclosure, doing the postman, collecting wood to renovate the perimeter wall. 20:14... Two days later, the town organized a festival to celebrate its foundation. Food, activities, music and dances are on the menu. You are approached by Bobby, the son of the village chief. Arrogant that he is, he is convinced that you are trying to steal his girlfriend, which of course is not true. The only thing that matters to you is adventure. He decides to challenge you: you must pass ALL the festival activities. From the simplest to the most wacky. Everything goes: catching the most apples in a basin of water without hands, winning a race with blindfolded eyes, riding the biggest pig ... Finally, night falls and you have won, not without having poured a few drops of sweat in front of the complexity, the intensity (and the duration) of the tests. Bobby is frustrated, angry and upset at the same time. You still manage to cheer him up, showing fair play. He forgives you and shakes your hand, even offering you the keys to the city for being a good rival. He can still have his girlfriend. 22:40... You feel in better shape and decide to come home to the other side of the mountain. You take a path according to the advice and warnings of the inhabitants. This path passes through a forest filled with creatures, each more beautiful and ugly than the next: Large deer with complex horns, ents, insects, wolves and carnivorous plants. And you even do a racing event with a wood elf you have come across. Having defeated him, he hands you a deployable shield. 26:35... Again by chance, you stumble upon a hidden cave and notice that its walls are made of bricks. Dungeon ! You enter out of curiosity but discover new enemies: traps, bandits of all kinds and even necromancer wizards reviving the skeletons hanging on the walls. There are also guard dogs and mad prisoners trying to catch you. The dungeon is a real labyrinth with its corridors and large rooms and therefore you get lost easily. Even the map you improvise doesn't sound very fair. After a long time, you open a wide door and enter what appears to be a throne room, a tall man standing there. 30:45... "So it was you who killed my degenerate big brother, so I will be able to avenge him. Prepare to die!" said the man with the big black beard. He draws a large sword and assails you with blows, but you manage to withstand attacks with your shield, dodging when they seem heavy. You attack and slowly chip away at his armor while he doesn't falter. He even calls in minions to help him bring you down. At one point, her sword breaks and, frustrated, drops it to the ground. He howls and begins to grow up to three times your height. He becomes a huge black bear, scaring away his minions in fear. He is a berserker, terrifying warrior who scavenges armies. His attacks are heavier and you find it increasingly difficult to dodge his blows. Finally, it charges one last time, crushing you with all its weight. And this time, you don't get up. 34:42... The game over is displayed and the music starts, leaving you with yourself. However, you are not frustrated. It's Christmas and you have just received your first RPG. In one morning you have already reached the second boss and surely missed items, quests. You will be able to take your revenge and, if not, ask your friends for help. Obviously they also ordered it and will also have tested it. But for now, you need to have breakfast. These cookies will not eat themselves.

storytime!! 0:00 "Adventurer's Return: The Curse of Saigai" 4:05 The theme for walking around in the forest. You may encounter enemies here, such as slimes, goblins, lizardlings, etc. 7:54 The theme for when you are in Shimo the Ice King's Lair. You may encounter enemies here, such as icenappers, frost spiders, and brrbats. 11:59 The theme for when you are attacked. 16:08 The theme for when you are in Fuwu the Cat Person's shop or are in a safe place. 20:14 The theme for when you are playing Willow the Plant Wyvern's game. If you win, you get coins, same goes for the reverse. He will also trade with you. 26:37 The theme for when you are in a dungeon. You may encounter bats, giant spiders, and giant cobras. 30:45 The theme for when you battle Saigai, the dragon who burnt down your village with no regret. 34:42 The theme for the credits after you've killed Saigai. Information for those who want to add more: Lizardlings are the children of Saigai. They have not developed wings yet. Saigai burned down the protagonist's village because he wanted it's riches. Shimo the Ice King is known to trap people inside his lair if they anger him. Willow the Plant Wyvern used to be one of Saigai's minions, however he was one of the few to escape, and also the only dragon to actually help the protagonist. Fuwu the Cat Person is a traveller from distant lands. Her species is allied with the humans. Icenappers are known to capture people it thinks are pretty to display them in it's home.
Post Credits: Saigai suddenly gets up from his slumber, he laughs in happiness and speaks to the screen in an 8 bit tone. "You thought you could win against me?" "A petty little sword can't do anything!" The screen starts to shake, debris falling down after continuing to hear his devious laughter. "Goodbye." Saigai says as he walks towards the screen and scratches it, breaking the camera, as it fell, it suddenly flashed on for a few more seconds, of Saigai, walking away from the screen and flying out of his castle. The screen turns black.
GASP this n e e d s to be a game now! Perhaps other cat people are traveling merchants, and there are side quests to save them from monsters/ fetch items for them! Or perhaps you yourself are a cat person and get to pick what type of cat you are, be it Burmese, ginger, black, blue, tortie, grey tabby, persian, or calico, perhaps even Sphinx! Or there could be fewer options and increases to stats with different cat types, potentially creating a final fantasy-like party of kitties! (I got to code this now!!!)

I already have some projects in progress, the plan is to launch a lot cool music this year! :D
finally, some good fucking chiptune.
The fact you made these and people can use them for free man, what a legend!
came from hyourinjutsu, the beginning of the title theme hits HARD... 0_0

This is quite refreshing compared to other recent ambient music tracks I’ve been listening to on RUclips : )
I love listening to chiptune/16bit fantasy music while at work or when working on my indie game development. This has been on a playlist of mine for some time. Amazing work. Thank you.
I love this! It’s so nostalgic and calming. I played it in the background while writing last night. 💖
we need more people like you, making god like music that is free to use I am almost shedding a tear here
Absolutely great! Feels like it goes right alongside any Final Fantasy or Dragonquest game of the era! Bravo!
30 seconds in and I already know this is incredible. This is exactly what I need for the workday!
Thank you! :D
oh my fricking god it feels like i just played a whole game! amazing job, you and the pixel artist are very talented :)
XDeviruchi, you are a legend; and later on, you will known by the youtube community as the greatest artist of the century,
It's really hard to find 8bit music that isn't covers or retro game OST which I heard way too much. Thank a lot for making some original tunes, this is an extra motivation now that I want to get into composing by making an 8bit album.
Oh, and I fotgot to say I love this
Did you ever start your album?
Thank you for helping out all sorts of aspiring content creators by sharing your work for free. It allows people to improve and grow without having to burn all their energy.

The fact you let people use this commercially feels like theft 😢 this is so freaking amazing, good job 👏 frfr
How have I not found this until now?? I absolutely am in love with this music! Thank you for creating and sharing this amazing list
💜
ayo man, thanks for making it free and usable!!
Amazing tunes!
And thank You so much for letting us use it on our videos!
Beautiful, thank you for this.
Currently using this for my Shovel Knight-esque 2D side-scroller in development. Amazing tracks for an adventure 2D game. Thank you for making these tracks sir!
Great work, great to listen to as background music while working on different stuff.
I’ve been using this as the soundtrack to a “story game” I’ve been running with my sons, and we’ve all come to love it. So much so that my oldest has begun trying to learn to play the entire track on violin!
Thank you and God bless and guide you. Peace and joy!
You're a good dad. Keep up the good work.
@@docmadhattan thank you; I hope that’s true, and I will certainly try!
As an update, as of today my Youbgest decided he also wants to play it! Will they succeed? Who knows! But they love it!
@@Tacticslion Wow, I'm so happy to hear that!
I'm so glad you and your kids enjoyed the album and that they even decided to play the songs!
If it helps, I still have some scores that I made as a draft before producing the final arrangements of the songs for this album and I can send everything through email.
Thank you so much! Hope they have a lot of fun in the process :D
Thank you @xDeciruchi. These sounds will help me build my upcoming 8-bit game that I want to create.
Thank YOU Mr Clay! I'm very happy that I could help you with your project :D
Litrally using this music to turn tidying my room into a game and its working perfectly
Dude I've been reusing the same video for my studying and gaming like 70 times. You are a godsend, thank you!!

The theme for walking around in the forest. You may encounter enemies here, such as slimes, goblins, lizardlings, etc.

11:59
The theme for when you are attacked.
16:08
The theme for when you are in Fuwu the Cat Person's shop or are in a safe place.
20:14

26:37
The theme for when you are in a dungeon. You may encounter bats, giant spiders, and giant cobras.
30:45
The theme for when you battle Saigai, the dragon who burnt down your village with no regret.
34:42
The theme for the credits after you've killed Saigai.
Information for those who want to add more:
Lizardlings are the children of Saigai.
Post Credits:
Saigai suddenly gets up from his slumber, he laughs in happiness and speaks to the screen in an 8 bit tone.
"You thought you could win against me?"
"A petty little sword can't do anything!"
The screen starts to shake, debris falling down after continuing to hear his devious laughter.
"Goodbye."
Saigai says as he walks towards the screen and scratches it, breaking the camera, as it fell, it suddenly flashed on for a few more seconds, of Saigai, walking away from the screen and flying out of his castle.
Ooh, you know what, I can’t code, but I can make this a campaign for an RPG! (Prob DnD, but maybe something else :D)
@@hyzmarie Perhaps I can convince my brother to code this game later.

A wonderful trip to childhood. Things were simple and easy to get into. Days when games used to be complete products.
Thank you.
Since at the time, there's either no internet or the internet is not good enough to send those DLCs (therefore, no way to send DLCs and updates), the devs must release the game in totally complete products
You deserve recognition dude. I'm literally finding some 8-bit fantasy music forever and gladly found one. I will also credit you though.
This sounds incredible. Awesome work!
Thanks! :D
Just hearing this made me wanna start on a new game project
Holy crap this is so inspiring and good
Thank god this free I’ll be sure to mention you in my podcast
Yo! This is so good! Thank you so much for releasing it royalty free. I’m broke, and as much things as I can do myself, music composing is not my strong side TuT This is brilliant
I'm currently using this soundtrack for my rpg 8-bit game, thanks for making it usable for free!
This is so amazing, thank you for creating this!
I really love this mix to study to! Chiptune tickles my brain just right :)
Holy shit! Please make more of this, this is so inspiring! Currently making a gameboy game with GB studio! I hope some people will enjoy it :). And I'll hope the Analogue Pocket will be pre-orderable again soon and I hope to be able to purchase one too. Well good job for the music. You totally deserve the praise! I hope you continue!
Thank you very much for your kind words and of course! I'll keep doing my stuff and posting here on youtube because of this type of comment! Also, thank you for letting me know about your personal project, i hope everything works fine and you release it soon. I didn't know about GB studio until now but it looks amazing lol, hope to hear more about your game soon :D
How did you convert the file to a game boy file?
I just found this, and I'm not sure how, but these are some absolute bangers. Excellent work.
This music is all fantastic! Found this video and popped it on in the background while chugging through some rough Uni deadlines and got the vibe of every song and the environmental picture each painted even before looking at the titles! Fantastic work, and very inspiring to get back into pixel art hobbies and maybe even take a crack at the software you've linked! Amazing work!
Finally, a YT Recommends that is actually worth my time. This was great!
Thank you for listening! I'm glad you liked it! :D
