Just so you folks know, for many, many years "top" performers were asked to perform Christmas albums....going back to 1925.....this is a tradition...Scott was a top performer...

what are you so sad about? this man lived a fabulous life in comparison to you and i. he had no valid reason to be depressed or want to escape his cushy life. still, he chose to get involved with drugs and though he had so much to live for and everything to look forward to, he made the decision to throw it all away for something as cheap as drugs. its not like he had super good morals or anything either. he abandoned his children and treated his fans (the very people who supported him and made him as famous as he was) like dirt during meet n greets that people paid good money for just to meet him for 5 mins. he got to travel around and do something he loved and he still couldnt put down the crack pipe. he did a good job sweeping his addiction under the rug and hiding it from everybody and bought himself a new set of teeth so we couldnt see the damage he was doing to himself and rather than helping other drug addicts learn from his mistakes and use his celebrity for a good cause he chose to hide the truth from everyone and pretend that everything was great until the drugs did what they always do to people: it killed him. he left his kids without a father and his ex wife has to raise them on their own and explain to the kids somehow why their dad liked drugs better than his own children and the never ending cycle of drug abuse is likely to continue and be passed down to his children when they become adults bc its not an easy thing to swallow being abandoned by your famous drug addicted father who millions of idiots worship and see as some sort of god when he is anything but. he may have been a talented singer but SO WHAT. the impression he left upon this world wasnt anything positive. the influence he had on his fans was anything but positive. if anything he promoted drug use and being a jerk and lots of people worship him and he just isnt worthy. simply because he had a beautiful voice? a beautiful life and he was so weak he couldnt even get his priorities straight and stop worshipping his crack pipe. he made enough money to buy happiness and that still wasnt good enough for him. and morons like you feel empathy for a selfish arrogant spoiled rotten brat like scott weiland? give me a break

hahaha you guys are crazy. a soldier?!?! how insulting that is to a real soldier. real soldiers are strong and brave and selfless and are in control of themselves and scott weiland was none of the above. he was a weak man who was blessed with fame, riches, and a lavish life of luxury and that still wasnt good enough for him. he had nothing to be depressed about yet he still got involved with drugs and became a slave to them, choosing them over his own kids and ultimately his own life. that, my friend is called SELFISH and COWARDLY. with so much to live for and kids of his own he couldnt even stop to set an example for them and save him from his own fate. now his kids have to grow up knowing their dad chose drugs over them and they will have to live with guilt that they dont deserve and that very well could lead to them having drug problems in the future. it doesnt help that a bunch of you moron fans of his (who he hated and treated like scum on the bottom of his shoe) still idolize and worship the guy just because he had a nice voice and u actually feel sympathy for him when your lives are nothing in comparison to how he got to live. then you have the warped perception to call him a soldier? i guess if you insert the word CRACKROCK before soldier then that makes it accurate. he was a soldier and a slave for crack cocaine. it was what he lived for and became what he died for. get it right next time you are worshipping the guy. the only thing that mattered to him was his next hit

Drug addiction is a disease. It changes the brain. Scott was on heroin, too, but it seemed he kicked that. And why are people saying he hated his fans?? I have heard nothing of this, until now. I also heard that he was on the road so much to pay spousal and/or child support to his 2nd wife, Mary.He didn't wardrobe away from his kids so much. Have some compassion, people!
