Lyrics:
Boul ma sene, boul ma guiss madi re nga fokni mane
Khamouma li neka thi sama souf ak thi guinaw
Beugouma kouma khol oaldine yaw li neka si yaw
mo ne si man, li ne si mane moye dilene diapale
Roughneck and rudeness,
We should be using, on the ones who practice wicked charms
For the sword and the stone
Bad to the bone
Battle is not over
Even when it's won
And when a child is born into this world
It has no concept
Of the tone the skin is living in
It's not a second
7 seconds away
Just as long as I stay
I'll be waiting
It's not a second
7 seconds away
Just as long as I stay
I'll be waiting -

A friend from Africa told me about this song. It should be re-released on the radio in America. The lyrics contain so much implicit and subliminal meaning to me.

Indeed Youssou Ndour revolutionized African music not to say culture. As a Senegalese girl, it always gives me goosebumps while listening to his songs (old and new) let me just say I am proud of our interplanetary star. He is timeless ❤ 🇸🇳
😂😂😂
Es un precioso mensaje a la humanidad ❤
He is a true revolutionist indeed!!! 👏👏👏
My dad used to play this song over n over for my mom and would go hug her so tight , telling her how much he loves and adores her . 20 some years later , I still remember those moments. That pure love between them is what kept me and my 4 other siblings away from hatred, negativity and racism . She passed away in 2006, he still plays the song. 16 years and he never remarried ❤️❤️🙏🙏

"The Longing of a Dafa Follower
Leaving behind the land of China, I’m exiled in the West
Longing for my homeland
And thinking of the lady whom I love
Most people are Gods descended to the world
Waiting for the Creator to save them back to heaven
Modern notions and conduct are deceitful tricks of demons
Atheism and evolutionary theory are fanciful lies
To spread this truth widely
I am persecuted, displaced to foreign lands

For You and All Beings
Wonderful times kept only in my memory
Warm breezes of love through so many days and nights
Persecution brings everything back to the first wish
Oppression makes you worry for me, tormented and restless
Most people are Gods descended to the world to await the Creator
Atheism and evolutionary theory are deceiving people
Modern notions and conduct are dead ends with no way out
The meaning of life is to return to heaven
To tell the truth to all beings
To keep you away from troubles
Wonderful times kept only in my memory

The Love of a Dafa Disciple
Returning to where we started-what other choice have I
Persecution is ongoing, I wish not to bring trouble to you
Let us part, so you will not be hurt
For I want to tell people where life’s meaning lies
Most people are Gods incarnate, awaiting the Creator
Atheism and evolutionary theory are destroying mankind
Modern notions and conduct are errors in life
For the salvation of you and the world’s people
I want to spread the truth all over China and beyond

No Other Choice
I met you on the journey of life
Love seeded in our hearts
Yet I am persecuted; to not bring you trouble
I left, for I had no other choice

Used to listen to this song driving in the overloaded van going to school in The Gambia. Youssous language is Wollof! He is just saying "don't see me Smile and think that I do not know what is under and behind me" African metaphor for self consciousnesses. I wrote my first piece of poetry from this song way back when I was eleven! Meaningful Nostalgia now and forever!
Thank you. Beautiful words and beautiful language! Greetings from Mexico.
Modou Sanyang thank you for translating.
Nice to know! I work with 2 Gambian men here in Finland! They're so funny and good men. Without them my wrok would be boring
Thank you Modou,
He used also French in this song between 1.44 and 2.08 :
J'assume les raisons qui nous poussent de changer tout,
J'aimerais qu'on oublie leur couleur pour qu'ils esperent
Beaucoup de sentiments de race qui font qu'ils desesperent
Je veux les portes grandements ouvertes,
Des amis pour parler de leur peine, de leur joie
Pour qu'ils leur filent des infos qui ne divisent pas
Changer
Very beautiful song, very difficult to translate in English
... And in Wollof, I heard about it today
Thanks one more time Modou, and happy to speak with all the world so easily
The peace could arrive by this way only !!!
Beautiful song I used to listen to this in Africa when I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Gabon.
Changer
I assume why we push to change everything
I want to forget skin color for hope's sake
But too many strong feelings about race crush hope
I want to see the doors flung wide open
between friends to talk openly about all of their pains and joys
to let flow all information that (unites) won't divide us
The last line is very interesting. "let flow info that doesn't divide us" meaning "if we care enough to talk about our problems they won't be problems". The more we discourse the more we realize we are the same "au coeur". This is so true. The story of humanity is so sad, but it doesn't have to be this bad.
I feel my country is no longer deserving to lead the world as Trump supporters in America want to stop all serious discussions of race and actually strongly encourage anti-PC culture in order to "let flow the info that (divides us) won't unite us" .
My god!!!..After about 30 years this song still rocks!!..What a master piece..❤❤❤

2014: A blind man wandering in the desert uses water to kill 2 Japanese buff students, a Frenchman, a British Japanese and an Egyptian fortune teller travelling across desert after killing two helicopter pilots.
As a kid born into poverty in one of the UK's most deprived cities ( Birmingham ) in the 80's this song really resonates with me on such a profound and emotional level and also with so many decent working class and ethnic minority kid's born into similar circumstances like mine that have encountered similar social and economic disadvantages during that period growing up in England kids who literally had nothing but hardship yet still aspired to work hard and educate themselves out of poverty ? It was tough , draining and challenging but i managed to do it thanks to surrounding myself with kids who were smarter and more ambitious than me and poor uneducated parents who worked hard for pittance and yet still pushed me to excel myself at school academically and now years later whenever i hear this track its quite soul destroying , tearful and sad to hear this track as its a prime example of how tough life is if your born into poverty and the odds are stacked against you.

Such a powerful and soulful song that beautifully combines African rhythms and Neneh Cherry's vocals. It carries a meaningful message of unity and understanding, making it a timeless and inspirational track.👏♥
