Dear Amy thank you so much. Handpanuary made me commit to practice a few minutes on the handpan everyday. I was really struggling with being alive because of a severe illness that makes me unable to be around people, go outside, sing, dance, sport etc etc. It has been like this for years now and when the new year came I just felt so hopeless and sad to go into yet another year in this state. Then handpanuary came and it sparked a motivation to fully commit to the handpan. It really gives me a sense of purpose and excitement. It is a reason to get out of bed :) haven't had that for a long time. So thank you for being such an inspiration and for providing these awesome lessons. It even inspired me to learn some basic music theory after years of "just doing something" on the piano.

This is so beautiful to hear, I'm glad the handpan found it's way to you, and I'm inspired to know you're studying some music theory too! Maybe I will join you on that, I've been slacking 😝 I hope you keep playing and practicing and creating with the handpan 💚

I’m super excited to see what new creative ideas you have to share for sure. The tutorial content you have created will keep folks busy for a long time to come, I think. At least they’ll keep me busy for a minute. :)

Thanks for all the content you put out. My January was super busy so I'm coming to Handpanuary late but looking forward to it. And glad to hear about new developments - I'd love to see some process-of-composition videos and more music certainly. All good wishes to you for the year ahead x

Amy, first Thank you, your didactic - thorough way of teaching is unique and a gift to all interested in learning to play the handpan. From my very own view - a month of Handpanuary gives me a Whole Year of learning, I personally need to come back again and again to capture all that you give on each lesson. As a matter of fact I am still practicing the '10 chords all Beginners should know' and I will be in this lesson for a little while. Same with all the Polyrhythm lessons- I will be there a while too. Thank you, I wish you a fabulous productive and creative year with your music, hopefully lots of travel too :D

Amy, thank you for your videos! Your videos are just so helpful to me and every one who love handpan. Looking forward to your sharing about how you make a song. how you catch your feeling in the moment you play and make it into inspiring melody. And also curious about how to identify our level or how to measure our progress. Sometimes I feel like I just keep practicing but don't know how to set a goal match my situation. Oh another one, it will be so great if you could share your point of view to those different style in handpan performance. To those differences between differences country / area / players' personality. Again, thank you so much!!!

Amy, I do not know you other than what I can get from your videos. I loved Handpanuary and was able to do about 80% of them and loved how it was really an organized curriculum of your already well thought out and communicated tutorials so thank you. What I was getting to was that for this new year with the little I know about you I would love to see you make this a year of collaboration with other artists. Really let that not be limiting but sour with your imagination on what that could look like with any and all artist. I think you shine when you are in collaboration and I think it would be a blessing and an adventure for you and us to watch that unfold. Cheers Hope to be on patron next month

Thanks so much! I would love to do more collaborations, playing with others is my favorite thing. I'll definitely be sharing more challenge / process videos together with Rosie, and we'll see how the rest of the year pans out with who else I can work and play with 🥰

Thank you so much for doing handpanuary! I currently have 2 more videos to catch up on but knowing but it’s been a super busy time. It’s been great having the niggle every day of a new video to practice with since really helped with motivation. The length of the vid was perfect too. I have to admit though I haven’t watched the long weekend one’s yet due to time constraints, sorry!
In terms of future, I love the tutorials or any tips to improve so seeing your journey to compose a new piece would be super helpful too.
I’m so grateful you are in the world! 😊

    Dear Amy,
thank you so much for your handpan lessons. Although, I’m still struggling with the basics to produce the right tone ;-) Your channel should actually have ten times more subscribers! I particularly liked the videos with the top view and the second camera. It's definitely an enormous effort, I guess. The scripting, the filming and the editing.
For that, thank you very much from Germany

YES I watched and worked on each one (except the more drifty weekend ones).. I've been on the road doing this - in Cambodia now - travelling with a couple of changes of clothes and a big hunk of metal 😅 Definitely inspires me to practice each day to justify hauling it around!
I actually really like doing 'scales' and technique exercises so this has been right up my street. It's shown me lots of cracks in mental connections.. which is one reason I've taken up handpan- brain training as well as pretty sounds :) I played Middle Eastern percussion for years so things like the Maksoum/scales combo was easy for me.. till you threw in those mad syncopations- Suddenly a whole new load of neurones required- OUCH- !
Sometimes it's a bit dispiriting to realise I still can't play a smooth fast up/down 'butterfly scale' or that triangle run you showed us without glitching.. but after a good exercise workout I go on to improvising and playing my own 'compositions' and I can see there's more variety now, therefore more fun to be had.
See you over in Handpan Dojo :)

Amazing! Cool to hear about your journey. It's nice to be thrown out of your comfort zone even when you think you've found something familiar haha. That's the beauty of the handpan, there's always something more!
      Safe travels!

You know my jam. The music vids. =D
Actually, as you mention about the process, maybe a little behind the scenes on how a music vid gets put together, too. Might require another hand to help, but I'm sure you have many willing. ^_^

Thank you thank you thank you! I learned so much technique and practices. I am beginner beginner and your wonderful Handpanuary helped me expand creatively and engaging in a new practice with actually learning a new instrument properly. You are amazing! And keep up the great work. Follow your own beat and hum, be creative and continue to be the amazing teacher you are. Looking forward to revisiting some of your earlier projects and meditative connections. I applaud you and wish you the very best. Keep rocking! And I look forward to your continued creative work. Tour Canada! Wooohoooo! You rock Amy!
