- Today I have an all new Six Flags Magic Mountain update for you covering all the latest. Something new is happening in the front of the park and today I speculate if it’s just a small project or the start of something bigger.

Hopefully they're doing a beautification project for the entrance and not just a simple pavement job. SFMM is supposed to be the crown jewel of the Six Flags chain (as of now, before the CF-SF merger), and yet it had one of the worst looking entrances of any major amusement parks I've seen. Even Six Flags America and La Ronde have better looking entrances than SFMM does. The ticket booths were made obsolete years ago with online purchasing, and became even more obsolete post-Covid. Getting rid of most of them is a smart move. Hopefully they don't stop there with this.
While I would have loved a coaster flyby front gate like Cedar Point or Carowinds, I doubt it'll be that. But even if its something simple like the new entrance Worlds of Fun got, I'd be happy.

Dylan, I have been to Six Flags Magic Mountain twice. On one of my visits, I was accused of faking my blindness. I was carted and I even showed him my cane. I’m blind and have been since I was eight years old. It was a cop at Six Flags that accused me of faking my blindness. Thank goodness two other family members were with me and got my back.

I was there on Sunday with my buddy Christian. The park was very not crowded. We rode everything twice. The best rides are Twisted Colossus, Crazanity, Wonder Woman, X2, Tatsu, and Goliath.
That’s awesome! It’s always great to ride all the major coasters and not have to deal with the crazy crowds.
Don't care about new rides.. just keep what they have OPEN!!!

They could have at least color matched the cellular extenders to the roof or disguised them as chimneys or something. Disney would've done better.

They did Solar at Discovery Kingdom. The added shade in the so-cal summer will be GREATLY appreciated
Speaking of beautification projects in the front of the park the emporium is looking a bit dated and dim maybe they can give it some new life

Everything good happens after I get out of a theme park. Xcelerator was closed on my visits to knotts then opened back up. Now this.
Well hopefully you’ll get to ride Xcelerator on your next visit.
What about some transportation, this park sorely needs it...
I think a new fleet of trams or busses would be great.

I enjoy your updates. Went to MM halloween weekend and I honestly don't remember the last time I was there for a full day, over 15 years?! Hoping they do scream break again, would be my next goal
I have a feeling they are going to do Scream Break again, it was super successful for them.
As long as they keep the lattice awning thing, I'm fine with this.

Nice review and analysis of the changes happening and those that might be happening. I vote for a new, high-tech dark ride. I was expecting that T-shirt you showed to be a lot more than $17.99. My last visit to Magic Mountain was in 2009, so I’m overdue for a return.
The cellular transmitters require “line of sight” to work at their most efficient. If they were hidden, they wouldn’t work as efficiently.
It probably won’t happen, but with the merger, I wish the parks would stop putting obnoxious ads everywhere. I think it’s so tacky to put an ad wrap around coaster car vehicles.

I still vote for another water ride! They have space for another giant fountain in the front plaza! YES to more theming and better maintenance/ops at Magic Mountain! A lot can still be improved in the park, but the new parking structure is a great and long due addition.
Yeah I wish they would have gone for a parking structure as well. And yup, a new water ride would be fantastic!
If they did a parking garage they would have room for a Giga by Scream!
As if it isn’t hard enough to find your car in that parking lot, they’re going to cover it with solar panels.
I think they will make sure to put key markers on all of them so that way it’s easy to find. 😁
This park is in desperate need for some high thrill flat rides to match the level of there coasters…..
Name several new flats that Magic Mountain can work with that'll complement CraZanity....
@@seanlewis1148 I thought you would never ask. A Mondail avalanche aka tundra twister would do fantastic here. The Mondail Top Spin with the double gondolas we be cool, and Mondail Shake or Move it themed after the joker would be fantastic. A old school Trbant would do well heavily themed. Ect.
@@seanlewis1148 With my observation of this park the little flats that they are really old and dated. This park has every variety of coaster you can think of and is almost devoid of any flats now there are rumored to get a giga which they really don’t need. I am sure this park contact with Zamperla or Mondail for some high thrill flats.
Don’t mind the the new merge. But they need to leave knotts alone the way it is . Six flags MM. need the work 💯
Knotts needs to work to. Their coaster downtime is almost as bad as SFMM
Fun Fact its worse. I have been to Knotts 4 times and not once have I gotten to ride Ghost Rider. everytime I would wait it would go down. But I went to Six Flags and got to ride all the rides in one day on a week day.@@Johnnyiswhere

Too many of the park's walkways are overly wide, plain-concrete heat deserts. They make even less sense if attendance is rarely or never 900 million visitors per day. But, hey, maybe a 900-foot tall coaster is being built at the entrance. lol. The geyser fountain at the front also used to run higher. SFMM needs a Director of Appearance to deal with things like those new cell receivers. I realize that bad show for a SF parks is different from bad show for a Disney or Universal park, but come on, folks. The main issue is that MM has a budget for either new coasters or other things, like maintenance, much less appearance, much less dark rides. That would change if MM could attract 900 million visitors per day, but that will never happen. So it's an ongoing game of pick & choose.

New front enterance is in the works. Push the enterance up opening space for new additions of anything in the area. Cedar Fair started butificaion projects less than 2 weeks after they bought Knott's so seeing this I'm sure it's part of the merger and any plan gets approved almost instantly when it comes to Cedar Fair and their butification process. Also those ugly things are mini cellular attends. Sadly they have to be out in the open and up high like they are. Some spots in the park has really bad signal til the last couple of years. See what butification and rides that came to Knott's after Cedar Fair took over. I'm curious now with the merger when will Montazuma's Revenge get worked on again at Knott's?
Good to know about the cell towers. Too bad they couldn’t come up with a solution to blend them better with the surroundings.

They can absolutely dress those cell sites up, but google what they do, they’re almost always obviously a cell tower. Best way I’ve seen: make the cell site look like a cactus, roof cactus.

Most are getting tickets online though. It’s like a very small % that are buying at the gate so it makes sense why they want to take the booths out.

The construction at the front entrance makes me wonder if they will one day make Hurricane Harbor included with admission to Magic Mountain. The reason why I think that is because Oceans of Fun, which is the waterpark connected to Worlds of Fun, used to be a separate gate until Cedar Fair decided to include that admission in 2013. Now that Cedar Fair and Six Flags are together now and Cedar Fair is the one in control, I think we could see them doing the same thing with this Hurricane Harbor and the one at Six Flags Great America also.

I feel like the main entrance should be between Scream and TC instead of where it's currently at. It would make more sense to park and have the entrance literally eight next to the parking lot

Those panels are going to blind everyone on tall rides with the right angle, and they are toxic for the environment. Smfh
They will be facing away from the rides so there won’t be a problem.

I went today and I rode 8 rides, overall I like the new installments.
That’s pretty good. I didn’t do anything today but I could have done Full throttle because that line was so short.
