I’ve really loved this Europe series of yours. Grona Lund’s definitely a quirky place, glad you had a great time there. A massive shame about Jetline; I rode it about 3 weeks before that accident.
(Opens a bottle of alcohol) (Fills Glass) Welcome everyone to the Intamin Amusement Rides design meeting. Today, we’re making a brand new model for our company. Ok, you see that X coaster over in California? Yeah, let’s make our own version of that! But we need to make it original. Let’s see, what are we known for? (sips some whiskey) Unreliability, of course. Give whatever comes of this a whole bunch of problems. Bad capacity, obviously. Let’s cut the trains in Quarters. Now, that still looks too similar. So (sips some more whiskey) let’s have the riders rotate around their, um, backpacks. Yeah, that’s different. Why control the spin? We can’t afford to build the extra rails! And also, do we even need to have a 3D layout? (takes another sip). Make it completely vertical and put a mid course brake run on it. Oh, and here’s the best part! (drinks an entire bottle) We’ll put a random piece of straight track at the top. It worked well on that Superman one. And just enter the vertical brake run upside down! That’s be thrilling. And can we just copy and paste those over the shoulder restraints onto this thing as well? Yeah, that be good. (opens a can of beer) and to top it all off, put one of these in the same park as, um, X that was it! Ok, see you guys tomorrow, we’re designing the restraints for that new chocolate hyper coaster!
@@huntzzioare you sure??? They both have massive amounts of debt from past bad decisions in a high interest rate environment for the long term foreseeable future, and all of their parks already have monopolies in their present markets except in the Bay area and la. This is only good for the typical guest and family if for starters they dramatically drop their parking prices instead of using their monopoly power in their markets to rip people off for dozens of dollars before you even enter the parks. I just went to Deutschland and the Netherlands and visited toverland Europa Park Phantasialand and Heide Park, and those 4 parks charge between 7-10 euros to park. Europa Park and Phantasialand are easily better than all but a couple of six flags and cedar fair parks. Admission price to Europa Park is 60 something euros, and admission price to Phantasialand is 50 something euros. A one day ticket to kings island near me is more than that, not including the insane parking cost if you don't have a pass. So unless this merger leads to drastically lower admission and parking prices, it will be bad for the average middle class American individual and family, and ultimately bad for the combined company, and will not help them be any more competitive with the year round warm weather park chains like universal and sea world, which are presently doing better financially than the two chains that are presumably announcing a merger soon.
I've got many flips on Insane, and even waiting for a minute hanging upside down, waiting to be turned upright by the ride ops. (Extreme versus normal mode) One of the most intense ride I've ever done. Gouderix is worse though. Icarus, Monster, the two droptowers and the funhouse are just awesome. Shame that Jetline and Twister were down, Ive missed them too. Grona Lund is just a awesome park, not to be missed when you're in Stockholm
As a swede that has gone there since I was a kid, it's always fun to see an outsiders perspective. Gröna Lund is great, and I hope they nail the expansion. Been talk about that since the 90s, can't believe it's finally happening. Yes, Jetline will be scrapped, it was announced about a week ago. Kind of a bummer, since it's been a staple of the park for so long, but also understandable considering the accident. I hope they get a good replacement. 11:55 That is a crane on Beckholmen, a wharf in the middle of the city. :)
Loved getting to see you visit parks across the pond. I would've loved to see you visit the Germany parks or even the Walibis but this trip still looked incredible! hope you're able to do something similar next year
This Cedar fair and Six flags news is crazy. I definitely know it being apart of a big news event for looking back in 2023 in a future Airtime thrills vid.
11:44 seems like a standard European fun house xD we have them on fairs all the time, New York New York, for example, but they would never have that in America because they don't know how to fun with a Karen sueing them lol
That actually looks like an interesting park to go to. I really think I'm going to try that fun house. That dark ride however, that sounds really weird, but I'm kinda curious. Lol😂😂😂
What?? Run away as far as whatever isn't a translation of Insane! "Sinnessjuk" is literally the direct translation. I don't know what this guy smoked when he "figured that out."
Insane used to spin a lot more when it was new. However, after the tragic accident in Spain, Gröna Lund tend to balance out the riders wheigt on each side of the car, so it mostly spins just at the last hunchback. I've never had any complaint for the Insane Zac-Spin ride experience whatsover. I don't know about the Green Lantern. But on the other hand, I'm a tad bonkers, maybe a little insane. ;)
I am now resigned to the fact that the article never get to follow in the translation... Anyway, great to see that you and the others enjoyed yourself as much as you did and good work on surviving Insane, Lustiga Huset and Blå Tåget!

I would honestly love to give Insane a try someday. I have been on Green Lantern: First Flight a few times (may that ride Rust In Pieces) and Insane looks to be an improvement over it's defunct American cousin (despite the fact that Insane is 2 years older than Green Lantern: First Flight).
@@topbaker4651yep. I've been on it a few times. Green Lantern: First Flight was fun the first year it opened but it became more uncomfortable and even painful for some riders when they redesigned the pods later on.
Ride Manufacturers "what kind of drop tower would you like?" Grona Lund "Yes" Also does Monster have the lowering floor? Does that mean Banshee is the only invert that doesn't?
Okay, honestly, it's not gonna end well because for one: Six Flag Parks are so disgusting and they're operations (dispatch times) are abysmal and they are quantity over quality. Cedar fair on the other hand is about good operations (dispatch times), they're parks are clean and it's about quality over quantity. So it's not gonna end well
You’ve clearly never been to great adventure. Their operations are fucking insane. They run almost all their rides at full capacity and the dispatch times are crazy too. I saw an el toro crew do a dispatch in less than 45 seconds
That's not totally true about all Six Flags parks. Six Flags Magic Mountain is normally pretty good with their dispatches and they have been working on keeping the park clean these past few years.
Hey everyone, yes I am aware of the Six Flags and Cedar Fair merger. Expect a video on that mid-day tomorrow.

When you got no space build tall and skinny
