There's actually a game in between RE2 & RE4 that's *NOT* RE3 or CV. It's one of the Chronicles games where Leon & Krauser actually meet each other in the jungle and Krauser gets his arm infected *then* so he can mutate it here in this game.
Ashley's entire dialogue in this video can be summed as "LEON!" "AHHH" *sounds you don't want your parents to hear* And finally, after it's all over... "Hey leon, wanna bang?"

Whew, finally got to watch the whole thing! As everyone else has said, the editing is just hilarious. I think my favorite parts are the constantly calling Luis "Carlos" and the fact that RE4 is "Donkey Kong-Like". I know on other videos you've made self deprecating jokes in the past about doing video game content for RUclips, but it really seems like you have a blast making these, so I hope you never burn out on it and keep it up! Though your movie-centric videos are great as well, just awesome stuff over all 💙

26:12 it's hard to believe, but you are actually right. One of the betas for RE4 was put down because it had alot of action, and was made into the first DMC game.
Dante and Leon, made from the same Chad DNA... Even the genre couldn't hold Leon back, he became too much of a badass for the game to pass as horror in 6... Still pretty good action tho, and he really flexed hard in damnation and vendetta

just figured I'd uh.. let everyone know. at around 3:45, indie actually performs a speedrunning trick known as "tree skip", where you input the commands at the very last second to dodge the boulder, and it glitches leon through the tree, saving about a second and a half of having to run around the tree. I did speedruns of this game for about 2 and a half years and that trick was hard for me, so congrats indie. You did something that I failed to do for 2 and a half years, completely by accident m.
I'm playing through re4 on ps2 right now, and boy is it a struggle to finish One of those games that is more of a punishment than a joy to play through The laser sight aiming is just terrible, it gets lost in the background all the time and you have no idea what you're aiming at. The camera rotation is extremely fast, very sensitive. Can't move while aiming down sight, knife attacks and kicks become worthless toward the end How could this game possibly be one of the greatest? I was enjoying it for the first half or so, despite the obvious major problems, but re4 just doesn't know when to end. Just keeps going and going lol, and the only thing they did to increase difficulty was swarm you with enemies and have fewer bullets lying around

Probably looking for a meme Leon comment, but Leon has to be one of my favorite characters in the series. You see him turn from a rookie cop who wears his heart on his sleeve, to a jaded action hero, to just a jaded character that deep down, still wants to do good in the world. The dude ages like a fine wine~
I know, right? You just can’t help but like Leon, he’s the perfect balance of badass hero, vulnerable human, cool but still a bit awkward somehow... I hope the res 2 remake writes him well and fleshes him out a bit more.
Weapon advice for newcomers: Red 9, Striker, Killer 7, and Semi-auto Rifle for the first playthrough. Handgun: Red 9. Red 9 is God-tier. No other handgun even comes close. Fully upgraded, it has the stopping power of an upgraded shotgun. Also is the most precise handgun in the game (as long as you buy the stock). Yes, it's big, clunky, and takes up a lot of inventory space, but that's a small price to pay for this monster. Shotgun: Striker. Striker is the best shotgun, hands down. Best stopping power, excellent crowd control, and the exclusive gives you 100 round capacity (with free ammo!) The only downside to it is that it has a wide spread, so medium to long range shots won't be very effective. ... But then if you're using a shotgun for long-range shooting, turn in your gamer card. Magnum: Killer 7. Don't bother upgrading the Broken Butterfly to exclusive, as you'll just replace it in a replay with the Handcannon anyway. The Killer 7 is ultimately the cheaper option, and performs just fine. Carry the free BB until you can purchase the Killer 7, then sell the BB. Rifle: Semi-auto. The semi-auto rifle is honestly a personal choice. I like the feel of it and the fact that you can "oh shit!" shots much better with this one. The bolt-action rifle is technically stronger with its exclusive, but it's less forgiving if you fuck up your aim. The semi-auto is strong enough for pretty much any situation in which you'd use a rifle anyway. This one is largely just preference-based. Now for the irregulars. Weapons that don't fit categories per se. TMP: This one is controversial. Some people say it sucks. Some people swear by it. I honestly like it, but don't include it in all my runs. Depends on what I'm going for. Basically the TMP, if used as a spray 'n pray weapon, is pretty shitty. That's not its strong point. Instead, use it for precision shooting, aiming for headshots, leg shots, etc. and setting up for a massive melee attack. It boasts a ton of ammo, and if you're not plowing through it like a panicky idiot, it should last you the whole game. You can even replace your handgun with this completely, and it's perfectly viable. Just be sure to buy the stock. Also functions quite well against large, bullet-spongey bosses (ie. El Gigante). Mine Thrower: This one is highly situational and gimmicky (though can be a lot of fun). Basically it fires an explosive dart that can lodge in an enemy, and has a delayed blast. Once it detonates, it does explosive damage to the target and splash damage in a radius around it. The "damage" metric on the weapon actually shows the blast radius, in amount of feet from the target. Exclusive gives the darts some homing capability. Is it worth it? Probably not. Grenades accomplish pretty much the same thing as a mine thrower, and are plentiful throughout the game. Not only that, but mine thrower ammo is pretty uncommon overall (it's improved from the original Gamecube version, which didn't drop ammo for it at ALL. The only way you could get more was by upgrading the damn thing, rendering it all but useless). My take on it: Just stick to grenades. The mine thrower honestly isn't worth the space it takes up in your inventory. Grenades: Flash: God-tier. Do NOT underestimate these guys. They can not only stun an entire group of enemies instantly (and for a substantial amount of time), they INSTA-KILL any exposed plagas. Surrounded by a bunch of head-burster ganados with their plagas exposed? Facing certain doom? Toss a flash grenade and laugh as your enemies instantly disintegrate before your eyes. They're even effective for stunning bosses. Incendiary: These are a bit more situational. Absolutely devastating against certain bosses (like Mendez), incendiary grenades can also be used for crowd control purposes to great effect. If you're surrounded by enemies (like in the Water Room), and need to cover your ass to beat a hasty retreat, toss an incendiary to hold off the enemies behind you, then turn and blast your way through with a shotgun. Fragmentary/Explosive: They're grenades. They blow shit up. Useful against bosses and crowds alike. Make sure the splash damage doesn't hit you (or Ashley). Rocket Launcher: Single-use launcher firing a rocket that will destroy pretty much anything. Will one-shot virtually anything in the game (except for sequenced bosses). You get a free one in the castle, and I recommend saving it for the Verdugo fight. Basically just knock over a canister of liquid nitrogen, wait until Verdugo gets frozen by it, then fire the rocket launcher. Boom! It turns a very tough boss fight into a single-shot kill. That's about it for the recommended weapons in the game. My thoughts on the other weapons: some are okay, though highly specific to a certain playstyle. The default handgun, when fully upgraded, crits on headshots a lot more, making it somewhat viable. Its overall damage is pretty crap, though. The Punisher is EXTREMELY situational. Basically it's useful against shield-wielding enemies, so it's an okay choice in the Castle, I guess. Overall it sucks though, as it has the worst damage output of any weapon in the game. The Blacktail is an okay choice. Decent firepower, rapid rate of fire, large ammo capacity, etc. In practice though, it just doesn't hold up to the Red 9. The Red 9 is not only far stronger, it's also more stable, so the only time the Blacktail would be more useful is if you want to quickly plink away at enemies (and if you're using a handgun like that, you're doing it wrong). Shotguns: The base level shotgun's exclusive allows for more powerful ranged shots. Otherwise it's useless. Again, if you're using a shotgun for ranged purposes ... you know the rest. The riot gun has more power than the base shotgun but less than the Striker. It has better ranged damage than the Striker but less than the Shotgun. Basically you should pick the riot gun if you like things that suck. Matilda (unlocked handgun for New Game Plus): It's Leon's upgraded handgun from Resident Evil 2. Fires rounds in short three-shot bursts. Can be useful in taking down more powerful enemies. In practice: it sucks. There are far better options to take down stronger opponents, and the rate of fire just means you'll be burning through your ammo faster. Its stopping power doesn't come anywhere close to the Red 9. The Red 9 is far more efficient, performs better in every way, and I sleep with it every night. The only other weapons (all unlockables) are the Handcannon, Chicago Typewriter, Infinite Launcher, and P.R.L. 412. All of these are basically "blow through the whole game destroying everything in sight because I earned this shit, damnit!" weapons. Enjoy. Addendum: The knife. God-tier. Seriously. This thing is extremely powerful and handy in almost every situation imaginable. Use this early and often to stun enemies, finish off downed enemies, and save a ton of ammo. Get good enough with it and you can even use it against bosses. Can't say enough good things about this one.
I have to give a hard disagree on the Striker, while it says it does the most damage, the effective range is almost half of all other Shotguns, the best Shotgun is by in far the Riot gun, you also don't have the aiming from hip issue. I find the Striker to be the worst Shotgun, maybe the base one due to it's useless exclusive. I fully agree with the Red-9 however, it is an absolute MONSTER when upgraded. You can also scrape by without using the Sniper Rifles in the game at all, they are some of the most situational weapons. The TMP while on paper is one of the weakest weapons, has one of the highest DPS counts in the game, this weapon will absolutely shred through boss fights and find it a great choice once you have the stock. Minethrower is decent but not needed, The Punisher is the worst gun in the game, Handgun is decent but is outclassed by the Red-9 in almost all aspects. The knife is god-tier indeed, along with Flash nades.
This might be the best RE4 weapon write up I've ever seen. Great job and very good information for a new player. Except Riot gun over Striker anyday!!!! The strikers range is terrible.

Yeah, I wondered about that myself. I'm a bit late to the party to this channel having subbed yesterday, but I'm bingeing through his vids now. They are fucking fantastic! But, I did think that was kind of a bad look not pinning a fan's comment. I'm sure he probably just forgot, but there are many shady channels who pull shit like that on purpose as a way to drive up engagement so it does sorta stand out. I see all these "Leon" comments and it kinda sucks since I'm sure he has a lotta big fans who hoped to get that lil shoutout. Hard to complain, though, because from what I've see so far the guy really makes high effort, incredible, hilarious content. After that she went freelance as best bet, she seems to put her skills to the highest bidder apparently working for Simmons from time to time.

The problem is that the action scenes which we took as sort of fun intervals for the horror were taken as a liberty by Capcom. In RE:5 they were more prevalent than the horror but the game still had it's redeeming factors. Then all the side games constantly devolved the horror till we got RE:6 which took the liberty which no one was a massive fan and made it into a standalone game which wasn't even that well designed. I struggle to watch gameplay of that piece of shit.

Like if you actually think about what goes on in this game... for a start I thought their plan was to infect Ashley and then send her home, so why the fuck to they keep kidnapping her and strapping her to things? Probably looking for a meme Leon comment, but Leon has to be one of my favorite characters in the series. You see him turn from a rookie cop who wears his heart on his sleeve, to a jaded action hero, to just a jaded character that deep down, still wants to do good in the world. The dude ages like a fine wine~
I know, right? You just can’t help but like Leon, he’s the perfect balance of badass hero, vulnerable human, cool but still a bit awkward somehow... I hope the res 2 remake writes him well and fleshes him out a bit more.

Weapon advice for newcomers:
Red 9, Striker, Killer 7, and Semi-auto Rifle for the first playthrough.
Handgun: Red 9. Red 9 is God-tier. No other handgun even comes close. Fully upgraded, it has the stopping power of an upgraded shotgun. Also is the most precise handgun in the game (as long as you buy the stock). Yes, it's big, clunky, and takes up a lot of inventory space, but that's a small price to pay for this monster.
Shotgun: Striker. Striker is the best shotgun, hands down. Best stopping power, excellent crowd control, and the exclusive gives you 100 round capacity (with free ammo!) The only downside to it is that it has a wide spread, so medium to long range shots won't be very effective. ... But then if you're using a shotgun for long-range shooting, turn in your gamer card.
Magnum: Killer 7. Don't bother upgrading the Broken Butterfly to exclusive, as you'll just replace it in a replay with the Handcannon anyway. The Killer 7 is ultimately the cheaper option, and performs just fine. Carry the free BB until you can purchase the Killer 7, then sell the BB.
Rifle: Semi-auto. The semi-auto rifle is honestly a personal choice. I like the feel of it and the fact that you can "oh shit!" shots much better with this one. The bolt-action rifle is technically stronger with its exclusive, but it's less forgiving if you fuck up your aim. The semi-auto is strong enough for pretty much any situation in which you'd use a rifle anyway. This one is largely just preference-based.
Now for the irregulars. Weapons that don't fit categories per se.
TMP: This one is controversial. Some people say it sucks. Some people swear by it. I honestly like it, but don't include it in all my runs. Depends on what I'm going for. Basically the TMP, if used as a spray 'n pray weapon, is pretty shitty. That's not its strong point. Instead, use it for precision shooting, aiming for headshots, leg shots, etc. and setting up for a massive melee attack. It boasts a ton of ammo, and if you're not plowing through it like a panicky idiot, it should last you the whole game. You can even replace your handgun with this completely, and it's perfectly viable. Just be sure to buy the stock.
Also functions quite well against large, bullet-spongey bosses (ie. El Gigante).
Mine Thrower: This one is highly situational and gimmicky (though can be a lot of fun). Basically it fires an explosive dart that can lodge in an enemy, and has a delayed blast. Once it detonates, it does explosive damage to the target and splash damage in a radius around it. The "damage" metric on the weapon actually shows the blast radius, in amount of feet from the target.
Exclusive gives the darts some homing capability.
Is it worth it? Probably not. Grenades accomplish pretty much the same thing as a mine thrower, and are plentiful throughout the game. Not only that, but mine thrower ammo is pretty uncommon overall (it's improved from the original Gamecube version, which didn't drop ammo for it at ALL. The only way you could get more was by upgrading the damn thing, rendering it all but useless).
My take on it: Just stick to grenades. The mine thrower honestly isn't worth the space it takes up in your inventory.
Grenades:
Flash: God-tier. Do NOT underestimate these guys. They can not only stun an entire group of enemies instantly (and for a substantial amount of time), they INSTA-KILL any exposed plagas. Surrounded by a bunch of head-burster ganados with their plagas exposed? Facing certain doom? Toss a flash grenade and laugh as your enemies instantly disintegrate before your eyes. They're even effective for stunning bosses.
Incendiary: These are a bit more situational. Absolutely devastating against certain bosses (like Mendez), incendiary grenades can also be used for crowd control purposes to great effect. If you're surrounded by enemies (like in the Water Room), and need to cover your ass to beat a hasty retreat, toss an incendiary to hold off the enemies behind you, then turn and blast your way through with a shotgun.
Fragmentary/Explosive: They're grenades. They blow shit up. Useful against bosses and crowds alike. Make sure the splash damage doesn't hit you (or Ashley).
Rocket Launcher: Single-use launcher firing a rocket that will destroy pretty much anything. Will one-shot virtually anything in the game (except for sequenced bosses). You get a free one in the castle, and I recommend saving it for the Verdugo fight. Basically just knock over a canister of liquid nitrogen, wait until Verdugo gets frozen by it, then fire the rocket launcher. Boom! It turns a very tough boss fight into a single-shot kill.
That's about it for the recommended weapons in the game. My thoughts on the other weapons: some are okay, though highly specific to a certain playstyle.
The default handgun, when fully upgraded, crits on headshots a lot more, making it somewhat viable. Its overall damage is pretty crap, though. The Punisher is EXTREMELY situational. Basically it's useful against shield-wielding enemies, so it's an okay choice in the Castle, I guess. Overall it sucks though, as it has the worst damage output of any weapon in the game. The Blacktail is an okay choice. Decent firepower, rapid rate of fire, large ammo capacity, etc. In practice though, it just doesn't hold up to the Red 9. The Red 9 is not only far stronger, it's also more stable, so the only time the Blacktail would be more useful is if you want to quickly plink away at enemies (and if you're using a handgun like that, you're doing it wrong).
Shotguns: The base level shotgun's exclusive allows for more powerful ranged shots. Otherwise it's useless. Again, if you're using a shotgun for ranged purposes ... you know the rest. The riot gun has more power than the base shotgun but less than the Striker. It has better ranged damage than the Striker but less than the Shotgun. Basically you should pick the riot gun if you like things that suck.
Matilda (unlocked handgun for New Game Plus): It's Leon's upgraded handgun from Resident Evil 2. Fires rounds in short three-shot bursts. Can be useful in taking down more powerful enemies.
In practice: it sucks. There are far better options to take down stronger opponents, and the rate of fire just means you'll be burning through your ammo faster. Its stopping power doesn't come anywhere close to the Red 9. The Red 9 is far more efficient, performs better in every way, and I sleep with it every night.
The only other weapons (all unlockables) are the Handcannon, Chicago Typewriter, Infinite Launcher, and P.R.L. 412. All of these are basically "blow through the whole game destroying everything in sight because I earned this shit, damnit!" weapons. Enjoy.
Addendum: The knife. God-tier. Seriously. This thing is extremely powerful and handy in almost every situation imaginable. Use this early and often to stun enemies, finish off downed enemies, and save a ton of ammo. Get good enough with it and you can even use it against bosses. Can't say enough good things about this one.
I have to give a hard disagree on the Striker, while it says it does the most damage, the effective range is almost half of all other Shotguns, the best Shotgun is by in far the Riot gun, you also don't have the aiming from hip issue. I find the Striker to be the worst Shotgun, maybe the base one due to it's useless exclusive. I fully agree with the Red-9 however, it is an absolute MONSTER when upgraded. You can also scrape by without using the Sniper Rifles in the game at all, they are some of the most situational weapons. The TMP while on paper is one of the weakest weapons, has one of the highest DPS counts in the game, this weapon will absolutely shred through boss fights and find it a great choice once you have the stock. Minethrower is decent but not needed, The Punisher is the worst gun in the game, Handgun is decent but is outclassed by the Red-9 in almost all aspects. The knife is god-tier indeed, along with Flash nades.
This might be the best RE4 weapon write up I've ever seen. Great job and very good information for a new player.

Yeah, I wondered about that myself. I'm a bit late to the party to this channel having subbed yesterday, but I'm bingeing through his vids now. They are fucking fantastic! But, I did think that was kind of a bad look not pinning a fan's comment. I'm sure he probably just forgot, but there are many shady channels who pull shit like that on purpose as a way to drive up engagement so it does sorta stand out. I see all these "Leon" comments and it kinda sucks since I'm sure he has a lotta big fans who hoped to get that lil shoutout.
Hard to complain, though, because from what I've see so far the guy really makes high effort, incredible, hilarious content. I would assume he's earned a pass since I have to imagine the guy stays quite busy just working on these vids, not to mention whatever else in the dickens he gets up to.

The problem is that the action scenes which we took as sort of fun intervals for the horror were taken as a liberty by Capcom. In RE:5 they were more prevalent than the horror but the game still had it's redeeming factors. Then all the side games constantly devolved the horror till we got RE:6 which took the liberty which no one was a massive fan and made it into a standalone game which wasn't even that well designed. I struggle to watch gameplay of that piece of shit.

This game is great and a classic in the franchise and everything (Personally 2 was always my boy), but it's so weird! Like if you actually think about what goes on in this game... for a start I thought their plan was to infect Ashley and then send her home, so why the fuck to they keep kidnapping her and strapping her to things?
