I was never around to play The First Evil Within but when The Second Game rolled out. I thought, I'd give it a shot, and then I was pleased on how they handled The Horror and Survival Elements. I enjoyed every second of it. I was invested in Sykes' Escape Story and Sebastian's Quest to Save Lily. Every Moment I beat a Boss, I loudly exclaimed in joy. Then I went out to play The First, and it was brutal. I loved it even more !!! Ruvik was a great sociopath. Although Stefano will always be the first to make an impression, He was an amazing villian and a great contrast to The Evil Within 2's Villian Cast. That's why I was confused on the lukewarm reception for both of The Titles. It's an absolute masterpiece comparable to that of Resident Evil and Silent Hill. Why do people not talk about this more ?
I liked the first one, but there was definitely a problem with pacing, like a massive pacing problem, constantly jumping from setpiece to setpiece. It makes sense in context of what the world is, but it doesn't make for the best progression. I did like how creative I had to get about killing stuff right there at the end though, as ammo was getting pretty damn scarce, I ended up using bottles to stagger things and had some tactical match usage. Kinda missed the matches in this game though, but the emphasis on fire wasn't quite as heavy in this game since Ruvik wash't the antagonist

The evil within 2 is my favourite game last gen when it comes to how much i enjoyed it on my first playthrough. Equal to the witcher 3 for me in terms of perfection in the genres they doooo (on xbox)

She had to carry it because she was the technician and he didn't show the gameplay but the circle of fire will close in on you why you're attacked by multiple buff monsters and she has to fix it.
Idk it shouldn’t be either/or but rather... Hoffman survives because she earned it narratively and she’s an interesting, sympathetic character that the players like AND Kidman survives because of mostly the same reasons... ...Though yeah, if they wanted the “guilt-striken character who sacrifices themselves to pay penance for past misdeeds”-type death, Kidman feels like the more sensible and narratively appropriate choice.
I really liked “re-vamped” Kidman with all her internalized guilt and obfuscated motivations & allegiances especially with the reveal of her big brain scheming at the end against Mobius. In the end, I was actually a bit bummed when they had her “going her ownnn wayyy” and not completing the STEM MACHINE DREAM TEAM of Lil’, Sea-Bass and ManKid.
