Right, listen up! A few of you in the comments are saying “bRo, Ww1 dIdN’t HaPpEn iN 1938”… I know. In this video I say that Murkoff were EXPOSED in 1938, for selling gas to the Germans to use in World War 1. As in, they weren’t exposed until years later. Thanks for your time. I’m going back to bed 😂
Really good video, detailed, informative, entertaining and well-presented. It frustrates me that bigger content creators are so complacent and we only realise when watching smaller creators and how much effort and detail they put in, keep up the good work. The only criticism I have is the time stamps don't always correlate to what you're talking about, but I guess it's hard when talking about so many different characters in different time periods and mediums to make up convenient chapter titles, other than that great video.
I watched Markiplier play the game and around the time that you start leaving after you meet with the groom, his reaction and my reaction are basically the same. A lot of shock and awe and just intrigue about what is going on. That's why I consider whistleblower basically outlast 2. It was really hard for me to accept the second game after seeing what happened with The whistleblower DLC. I eventually did but it took a while.
Same. I also thought WB took place years before the whole Asylum went to total chaos. When it was revealed at certain key events in WB that it tied in with the main game's story, I was left speechless on how well everything linked up together.
@@VFPro_ ummmm, no after miles kills billy, miles becomes the walrider, and the walrider executes his dying THOUGHT or neural activity: TO KILL ALL WHO BETRYED HIM : the doc and all employees. the end of WB is the brief continuation of the base game end..... anyways, my blood froze when i saw the walrider in the distance while in the jeep...... 10/10 game
I like how Miles, despite being attacked, hunted, stalked, tortured, killed, and even possessed by the Walrider, still manages to pull through and commit acts of heroism to make sure everyone knows the truth about Murkoff.
Not to mention those two naked guys that wanted his liver. Two guys that look *that ready* to cut your side open and f*ck the wound would be enough for me, f*ck a career in journalism 😂
Agreed! Best DLC for any game I've played. Especially since it adds so much more context to the Mount Massive Asylum storyline and I think in some ways it is better than Outlast 1. For me, Outlast 1's main strength was Richard Trager, who was dead by the time Waylon spots him.
It was also a whole lot scarier. After finishing Outlast and getting used to Chris Walker, I purchased the DLC and holy shit, was I terrified at first.
True. The amount of horror you'd experience from the variants being violent and depraved is too much for a few hours. Chris walker's presence , Dr.Trager's torture , father martin burning alive , the wallrider. And we don't speak about the corpses and blood he had to witness.
I always assumed it was more of a case him being the closet thing to a host for the walrider after Billy’s death. Basically once the walrider realizes Billy is dying it attacks miles to cause him be to in a state near death just enough for him to be a somewhat suitable candidate to be a host. But even then it only takes miles being pumped full of lead for it to fully takeover.
@@williamfrank962 Well it has always been the plan all along to make Miles the host since he got there, at least father Martin's. That's why he was under his protection, so he has time to be traumatized enough and not be killed. Chris knew that and since he didn't want the walrider to have a new host, he chased miles, trying to kill him and other potential threats (we see him tearing this dude's head off e.g.). The walrider wanted him to be the new host as well (I don't know why exactly) but he could've killed Miles at any time but chose to leave him alive. Maybe they saw a more potent host? I don't know.
Horror stories that try to make everything seemingly supernatural in their story end up being the result of scientific experiments and therefore explainable by science always end up with weird stuff like that and convoluted storylines such as the Resident Evil franchise
A 50 minute long video by a Creator I've never stumbled across before about a game I have only a passing interest in? Sign me the hell up :-D this was a really well done and informative video and I look forward to watching more of your content
Not gonna lie, I had no idea that Outlast 2 was even connected lore wise to Outlast 1, I thought it was it's own thing. I also had never heard of Outlast having comics either. So thank you so much for this video, it really cleared a lot of stuff up for me and now i'm excited for Trials :D
@@ThwipThwipBoom Yeah but to be fair you Could actually see the Murkoff facilty and find that one note about the employee in Outlast 2 (the note was kind of easy to miss tho)
@@alphaalman9277 Lol sorry i'm a total wuss and have never played the games myself. I just like watching RUclipsrs play the game instead and they tend to rush through the game more than the average gamer playing by themselves to make editing easier and get their videos out sooner.
I get scared easily so i don't really play horror games, but their lore and story are always so in depth, so having recaps like this is really enjoyable. Thanks for making this!
this is was me before i played horror games and now i play horror games all i had to do was not close the game after i get scared the first time and it all gets easier

@@SuperZero1215 il admit i have all the lights on and volume turned down pretty low so it makes it easier but man you have to get over the fear the games are so worth it
Soo three of the main characters are still technically alive although miles is the deadliest, wylan hiding, and blake suffering. Wonder how it'll all connect if we'll see this become a trio
The cannibal twins are such unique and blood chilling additions to the game, i love them. I wish they had a bigger storyline. They're so sophisticated and elegant too strangely
Then u got the man himself, Dr. Richard Trager I absolutely fucking love his character He came our if nowhere and well wut he did to u also came out of nowhere His backstory and the fact that he sounds so endearing and friendly and while acting insane and brutal asf it's also pushed back by him just acting nice which is rly cool It tly makes his character more layered which works for surprising u but also to expose that he thinks of himself as a good doctor and seems like a good doctor under the fucking insanity that he clearly has Also the shit he's done in the past also rly makes his friendly demeanor sinister
The Outlast series is one of the horror series that I never got to personally play, but I have watched virtually every big RUclipsr playthoughs for it and enjoyed every single one of them. I never fully understood the events in Outlast 2 and I think you did a great job summarizing it.
Even back in the day, no one really could explain what was happening in Outlast 2. When he brought up the ants and that last bright light, I was honestly in awe at what actually happened.
I recommend the first one. You will be scared shitless and find yourself hiding in lockers all the time but completeing it was more satisfying than beating Bloodborne (personally) you overcome fear and gameplay to beat the game that tormented you with fear. The second one was a running sim and had a weak impossible to follow story... Wasn't that scary, unless if dead by daylight is scary for you this game is kinda the same. Out run the guy wait till it's safe and move on.....
That part in Outlast 2 where the man is begging to be killed because he knows he’ll talk when they torture his wife is so fucked. One of the darkest scenarios imaginable and absolutely hated watching it happen, I like how helpless the player feels in these games.
The silly thing is that the victim could have so easily just lied and the torturers would have been delayed long enough. It's a lazy cliche of a scene, though I at least like Blake's meta commentary on how hurting women to get at men was 'cowardly'.
“ He soon finds the pilot buts he’s not really in a talking mood. He’s been skinned and hung up on a tree. ” I don’t know why I found this line so funny lmfao
My fave “twist” of any series is that the journalist and the whistleblower are in the building at the same time. Million dollar Hollywood films can’t connect their first part to their sequel/prequel that seamlessly.
This is a perfect video for those who don’t know the actual story of Outlast. Backgrounds of the characters, history of the experiments and corporations, along with the story of the main games. Almost too good to be true for a single video for these types of games. AWESOME work friend.
I absolutely hated the ending to Outlast 2, but after watching this, I was just blown away. I would have never thought it was all in his head, I now understand the story. Outlast is now one of my favorite horror stories/games!
Outlast games have a cool story and some nice worldbuilding, but the gameplay completely fails at grasping the horror elements of other games. Many horror games leave you in total or limited control during chases or dangerous scenes even when your actions don't matter, because the realization that you're still in control, and yet nothing you can do will help you, is part of what makes those scenes so frightening. You are allowed to struggle, which gives you an adrenaline high as your mind frantically tries to find something, anything that can help. Instead Outlast is peppered with long, dragged out sequences that completely take away control and just force you to watch. It may be scary or gross the first time you encounter them, but after you figure out the game is essentially "Oh noo, you're tied down to a chair and this guy will chop your willy off" or "Oooh, you're being crucified and forced to swallow a leper's blood" it loses that edge. Same as chase scenes that have a definite start and end. In a game like Amnesia you would constantly be in fear of a chase not being over and stay on edge for a long time even after the danger had passed. Meanwhile, Outlast has to end every chase scene with an obvious checkpoint such as the big nakey man throwing you down a floor, or crawling through a space too tight for the angry inmate to fit, which just dampens the whole atmosphere. "Oh look, danger's over, back to crawling around". It would be so much better if the game wasn't pretty much a linear corridor runner and offered you some chances to, you know, be scared of what you don't see instead of just slapping gross/scary imagery in your face.
It's because corporations, govt. agencies, secret cults, and the like are convenient tools for having entire organizations of people to antagonize the hero(s). In the real world, capital is required to motivate most people into organizations, and viola; A company of villains hiding awful secrets.
I think the part I was most intrigued by is how Jessica Gray, Blake and the preacher all related in the flashbacks. I always assumed that the monster was a personification of a sexual predator, but was never able to properly connect the dots that it was truly the same guy. Then mentioning the same mark on the head was absolutely mind blowing. After the camera turning out to just be static with the preacher and Blake speaking was a complete mindfuck and the pieces finally all got put together. I hated the monster. All the grabby hands, the long tongue, the way it stares at you… man.
Really personified the horrific mental image one could have of such a terrible human being. Especially in the mind of a young child? Awful, and amazing
It’s interesting how by laying out the plot of Outlast chronologically you start to piece together that this is more than just another entry in the ol’ horror flashlight game genre. It’s a piece of conspiracy fiction, well situated within the vast American canon of such works. The games have dozens of references to famous pieces of conspiracy lore such as MKULTRA/Richard Helms and the Heaven’s Gate cult, and even the events of Outlast 2 are retroactively reinterpreted by the end not as a cult going mad but as a giant experiment by the universe’s Powers That Be in mind control.
Damn... When you put it like that, it makes the Outlast games all the more horrifying because of how REAL they could actually be. Having been inspired by real life human atrocities.
Yeah, Outlast 2 contains two very different stories depending on whether you consider it a standalone or as part of a larger narrative. Personally I really dig it going much deeper into the theme of technology being interpreted as magic.
You kinda missed a small part in the comic. The whole pain Lynn was experiencing was not due to the pregnancy but all the blunt trauma sustained in her body from beating, sexual harassment, etc. In the comic segment, Lynn doesn’t even posses a belly at all, it was all in Blake’s head and he was literally dragging his wife to death to the church.
Its because of the light that strikes people in Town. It was said in some documents the light can make things like pregnancy, visions and memories. The last words Lynn said were : There is nothing (smthg like that). Meaning there is no baby, the light striked Lynn only once cuz she was underground meaning she got pregnancy just from one light but she didnt go crazy. Papa Knot and Blake were constantly on that light and they both saw baby. How could 2 people see the same thing when it doesnt exist? As i said Lynn got hitted by light only once, when helicopter got down and she knew that it isnt real pregnancy so she said theres no baby to Blake before she died.
Incorrect she had a pregnant belly and the pregnancy was real and so was the wave she gave birth to blake’s baby before dying of childbirth and afterwards the comic where he doesn’t have the baby is non-canon cause it doesn’t compute with the ending that we got and that in reality blake and his child were returned to civilization and sent back to live normal lives.
@korrblank1361 So then why does Lynn, who's been in the cave unaffected by the morph, can't see it but Blake and North who HAVE been can see it wheres the confusion in that
The cult of knoth is eerily similar to a real life cult called the Ant Hill Kids with its leader Roch Thériault. You should really look into it as there are a lot of parallels, Wendigoon has a great video on this. Also the mass cyanide is taken from the real life cult of Jim Jones
I read most of it and was very shocked, especially the treatment of the other cult members given. Safe to say that I went “what the hell” on the other half of the story I can’t tell if it’s less or more worse than the Jonestown Massacre story
I kinda love how the whole character of miles/walrider/ants waging war on Murkov and is arguably one of the most justified "villains." The Walrider from what I've seen is a sort of vengeance based character who seems to just ignore the more innocent people (atleast in the eyes of the host.) I love how this otherworldly entity that equal parts supernatural and science fiction is a bring I see myself routing for.
The Walrider under Miles is definitely an antihero rather than a total monster, in some ways like Venom or Alex Mercer. Although it's arguable that even Miles has been corrupted by his vengefulness and Machiavellianism, since the comics hint that he kidnapped and mutilated the daughter of a Murkoff employee and if he was responsible for destroying the towers at Templegate then a lot of the people who died there...and the Langermanns...were collateral damage. Although I like to think Blake himself ends his story with the potential to create a Walrider of his own, specifically one in the form of a vengeful Jessica.
@@tomas_nehyba I can't imagine a gentle family man like Waylon being ruthless enough to torture anyone's daughter. On the other hand, Miles is an angry zombie and I can even see him cutting Alice's finger off as 'payback' for losing his own finger.
@@mattmedrala1947 Yeah. But it's likely that Simon Peacock And Waylon Park are still working together in Murkoff Account issue #6. I feel sorry for Paul Marion and his daughter. He had to work for Murkoff in order to have acces to special meds for his daughter that were too expensive and he wouldn't be able to buy them othewise. But because he works for Murkoff, he is now part of all this and now has to work for Simon Peacock and Waylon Park, since they kidnapped his daughter Alice. After the events of Murkoff Account issue #6, Simon probably sent Paul somewhere in Michigan to do some job, he got into a shootout with a Murkoff agent (possibly Pauline) and got shot. Then he arrives in a taxi near the Field Office, the FBI officer arrests him, he is hospitalized and then is the one narrating the whole story of the comics to the FBI.

No it's a hallucination that is meant to signify the coming of the apacolypse, as was is common within Christianity and also the testament of New Ezekiel. This is a huge incorrect stretch
I think the best and scariest character for me was Chris Walker. He is my fav character in that game. When he starts chasing you and you hear that music and him pulling those chains on the ground with himself just gives you chills.
Damn Merkoff ain't that smart putting a high tech, ground breaking but untested piece of equipment under the control of a tortured convict and not expecting him to fuck all shit up. But foresight is not a strong suit i guess
No one in the outlast universe does The whole story could've been avoided if Miles just said fuck this shit when he saw the shadow in the asylum building
Yeah I also was quite baffled about it. At first sight Plot is really interesting but realizing that it is basically table's feets and taking table's feets out whole table crashes down and all items that were on the table starts breaking.
In the first game, it's hinted that Billy was pretty stable and loyal to Wernicke until he read a form talking about Murkoff killing his mom; that's the point at which he goes berserk. Stupid as it may seem, there's also a note in Whistleblower where Murkoff talks about disposing of Wernicke and considering Billy much less important than the three blind dreamers. I wonder if there was some intentional sabotage of Mount Massive as an excuse to get rid of disposable employees. The reason why I think it's stupid is because clearly the chaos has been more damaging to Murkoff than helpful, but on the other hand it's in line with just how gratuitously evil and conspiratorial Murkoff is.
I'm with ya there. Watching walkthroughs is fun but if I ever tried to play Outlast 1 or 2 the anxiety would keep me from getting anywhere. The lore and story are so good though.
I’ve never played this game, nor do I intend to, but here am I listening to this entire video like my life depends on it. You could explain PacMan lore and I’d be hanging on every word.
Jesus red barrel is now easily one of my favorite gaming studios ever, their storytelling is absolutely master class if you actually dive deep into their lore its actually amazing, and one of the best things about it is that the deeper story is optional you can just play the games regularly and the basic upfront story is easy enough to understand yet still intriguing, the story and lore of outlast literally has no plotholes, everything is able to connect together so well in a full perfect circle, and they still aren't even done yet, LET THEM COOK!!!
Loved outlast 1 but the second game frustrated me so much so this video really helped. It sucks that modern games lock so much lore away in their comics but I understand why with the outlast games formula.
Yeah it’s kind of necessary as so much happens in the aftermath. That’s when we truly see the horrendous lengths Murkoff go to in order to cover their tracks.
@@GamingHarryYT True, its why I love the new Tomb Raider games, the story if the Island didn't need a sequel in the games her adventures and growth did. I am excited for the Outlast Trials and Outlast 3
I think it’s less the fault of the comics and more the fault of outlast 2 itself. They needed a last minute “lab section” Something purposeless rabbit holes said would’ve worked really well.
Me: *knows literally everything that happens in this series and has consumed all available Outlast media both inside and outside the games multiple times* Also me: oh boy, an Outlast lore video!!
True, I remember watching videos of it when I was a teenager and thinking it was just some creepy edgy game with cool mechanics like the cameras, and it turns out there's even comics about it. And for some reason I'm glad the comics have a unique style to them since I was expecting it to have the "DC/Marvel comic artstyle" but it ended up looking really pretty and somehow.. Looks comforting?
All right, where should I start? Ive just watched your 50 minutes of pure work and man, its a masterpiece. Im from germany and I have searched the whole internet for an good outlast explaination. I'm so happy that this video has nearly one million views now, seeing how much work and effort you put into packing all the lore of Outlast games and the Outlast comics into a single video, it totally deserves attention this big. Like you said, this was the most ambitious project on your channel and sometimes content creators put so much work into a video and when they release it, it barely gets any appreciation. So I'm sure you are proud that this is your most popular video now.
As someone who never took the time to read the comic but loved the games, the plot of the series is a lot deeper than the casual fan would expect. Great video and analysis!
I have never played Outlast, I don't intend to - but I'd be damned if I didn't say you peaked my interest, and explained a story that I didn't know was so deep. Earned a new subscriber, thank you for this awesome video.
Wish I knew how many times I have returned to this video. After being invested in the games and comics for the last decade, it’s fantastic to know others love and follow the storyline. Well done Harry on such a fantastic video. I can imagine it would have taken substantial time to obtain all of the evidence and confirm the flow of events to create this content. Looking forward to what else you post on both this and your 2.0 channel about this series 🫶🏽

Holy shit, I literally never put two and two together that Miles was helping Waylon escape and that he was staggering out with the swarm around him. I thought the Walrider was just horrible at killing him. IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW! MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMRH!
I had figured that there were rumors about what the end of the DLC was. That either he was attacking miles as he was leaving or that he was using his nanobots to help him turn around in such a tight space to help him leave. Either way, I wonder what the new Walrider doing now?
having played outlast 1, and whistleblower. it was very nice to see how they even connected in the first place as my first playthrough of both just left me confused as to who that was supposed to be, what did that mean, etc... Great video and a great recommendation by youtube for once.

Great game 💯
Also I am EDDIE ;)
It makes sense for Miles to become the Walriders host. Being in that Asylum and experiencing the things he did would make anyone a worthy host tbh
True. The amount of horror you'd experience from the variants being violent and depraved is too much for a few hours. Chris walker's presence , Dr.Trager's torture , father martin burning alive , the wallrider. And we don't speak about the corpses and blood he had to witness.
Any place filled with blood draws devils

That part in Outlast 2 where the man is begging to be killed because he knows he’ll talk when they torture his wife is so fucked. One of the darkest scenarios imaginable and absolutely hated watching it happen, I like how helpless the player feels in these games.

The ending initially confused me, but now I love it
@@ZorotheGallade Maybe the things you said will happend in outlast trails, who knows.

because it’s fact
It's because corporations, govt. agencies, secret cults, and the like are convenient tools for having entire organizations of people to antagonize the hero(s). In the real world, capital is required to motivate most people into organizations, and viola; A company of villains hiding awful secrets.
They are.
Weaving the games lore into real parts of fucked up history like MKUltra and Project Paperclip just... man I love this series and the lore.
MKULTRA isn't a conspiracy, there's pretty much proof that it happened
Wait so Lynn died?
@@Aarush_is_the_Best yeah
Incorrect she had a pregnant belly and the pregnancy was real and so was the wave she gave birth to blake’s baby before dying of childbirth and afterwards the comic where he doesn’t have the baby is non-canon cause it doesn’t compute with the ending that we got and that in reality blake and his child were returned to civilization and sent back to live normal lives.
@korrblank1361 So then why does Lynn, who's been in the cave unaffected by the morph, can't see it but Blake and North who HAVE been can see it wheres the confusion in that

Well said.

I had figured that there were rumors about what the end of the DLC was. That either he was attacking miles as he was leaving or that he was using his nanobots to help him turn around in such a tight space to help him leave. Either way, I wonder what the new Walrider doing now?
@@shioriryukaze Good question. Hope to see in Outlast 3 if that ever happens. For now we'll have to enjoy The Outlast Trials.
Of course he does, Miles probably had to tear himself a new one to buy that Jeep after being fired
having played outlast 1, and whistleblower. it was very nice to see how they even connected in the first place as my first playthrough of both just left me confused as to who that was supposed to be, what did that mean, etc... Great video and a great recommendation by youtube for once.
I hope they make a outlast 3... this story is really intriguing
The closed beta is already released of the game - outlast trials
@@Alan_George_Jr_01 It's prequel
@@amiable_monster my bad! i forgot that
@@Alan_George_Jr_01 It happens, don't worry👍
outlast 3 is being worked on
Just goes to show, red barrel knows what there doing and how writing a horror game should be. Props to them and can’t wait for out last trials
A certain 11 part critique series has convinced me otherwise. I still love Outlast though despite it's many, many flaws.
@@MilkLover-ql7vz Same, i watched all of them.
Again, i still love outlast 1 after watching them, but i dont really like what they tried to do with 2 and 3
Being a fan of the series ever since the first game came out ,i found the story to be sometimes harder to explain ,even though playing through all the games multiple times .Glad you made this video ,which explains pretty much everything . Im excited to see what the Trials and future Outlast games bring !
It’s pretty crazy that every female character in Outlast was either raped or had a close brush with it. And even some men weren’t safe.
It's pretty crazy man. Not even kids are safe.
Basically all the worst things humans were capable of doing were done in this series 😅 quite impressive how they fit it all in.
It may be called out last but I haven't seen anyone last
Some? I thought all the men were either tortured, dead or mutilated?
@@woopazipper yeah
watching playthroughs of the first outlast game was what sparked my love for horror as a genre so i’ve always been a fan of the outlast series in general. that being said, i never knew there was such a comprehensive storyline :0 this was a very fun video to watch! thank you for making it :D
I’ve always watched walkthroughs of outlast and only knew the games on a surface level, but it’s huge storyline and lore is extremely fascinating & bone chilling.
I’m disappointed that we don’t have an official sequel yet, hopefully we’ll catch up to present day on what murkoff has in store next.
Haven’t even played the games (yet) but love to hear about the lore and the way you tell it, so interesting
Play them, you will love them. :)
@@rjfulop4057 agreed they’re the best ever I have played!! 😍💖
@@darlingxluxii7977 I can't wait for Outlast Trials 🍻
I’m stuck under the bed in the first level right now LOOOL
Play it with a headset, lights off. You'll love it.
Well done! Thorough without being overdone, you kept the timeline organized, and everything made sense. I absolutely loved this! Thank you so much!
imagine if this was either a trilogy or a one-season tv show, and the Coen Brothers directed and produced it. the combination of suspense and symbolism from some of their earlier work would do this franchise insane justice.
I don't know what it is about this specific kind of long form content, but god it is so soothing to watch this video over and over
I've loved the outlast series ever since I played the first game, but I could never understand the Wallrirder and the cult/end of the world until this video. You do an amazing job at explaining lore and you've just earned a subscriber! Keep up the good work, man!
Just what I needed to take my mind off things for a little bit, was at work had my morning meeting. Came outside to find my father on his steps having a seizure: he’s at the nursing station getting checked up. Going to check on him now.
Keep up the great content as always! 🤙
Ah sorry to hear that. Hope he’s alright 👍
Hope your dad is okay, wish you and him the best.
@@GamingHarryYT It started happening since he got hit by a vehicle and had reconstructive surgery on his skull a few years ago.
He’s doing okay now! They’re getting him back on anti-seizure meds again, been a year since the last one. Everything’s looking good now!
Thanks for everything! Have a good day! ☺️
@@Mr_Cardinal wow life's so cruel sometimes, my thoughts are with you
exactly how i’m feeling right now. had a crappy week and now i can get distracted for a bit
This is one of the best "explained" videos I have ever seen. You actually explained it in a way I could understand! So comprehensive, easy to follow, and extremely well done. I loved these games, thank you for making this video because I sure as hell didn't pick up all the pieces you did for this story.
I was too scared to play these games myself but I really enjoyed this video a lot. It explained a lot of the questions I had. Thank you so much! ♥
Me too. I just watched people play.
Wow. I never knew outlast had a cool story like this. I was too busy from hiding and screaming to notice the world in the game
Honestly,I like finding random stuff like this.
I'm telling you just scrolling untill you find a very interesting and intriguing thumbnail of a game you mostly just heard about, never played or even watch a gameplay of from someone you have never heard of before and literally watching it all the way through,50 damn minutes and being intrigued even more by it and wanting even more, well, this my man,is content.
Very well done
Never really understood the lore of this game when I was younger, but I only played it to see the reactions on my friends and family’s face whilst playing, it was the best horror game at the time
You sir are a king. You helped me finally understand wtf is going on in outlast especially outlast 2. Again thank you so much putting this vid together
I’ve never even heard of Outlast’s story until I saw these videos now I’m very interested. Keep up the great work!
I love that it's not just some silly jumpscare game. The characters and plot are thought out. Like boundaries are pushed but executed well. The Eddie Gluskin addition just added so many layers of fear.
I love the explanation. Its difficult for me to absorb the lore in scary games a lot of the time because I'm so freaked out. Super interesting story.
it's really sad that many people don't know how compelling and incredible is the story of outlast, this has to be the most underrated video game in history
This honestly felt like a real documentary. Well done for explaining everything so well! I didn't even know the first two games happened simultaneously! Can't wait for the next installments.
already knew everything about outlast but the way you arranged the events actually made it more easy to understand like everything is happening in real time.
Been a Stan for the Outlast Universe since i was in high school with the release of the first game. I watched every RUclipsr play the Demo of the first 2 games, watched multible playthroughs of different people playing both games. I have beaten both games and the DLC 100% on PC, Xbox One & PS4. i am a literal STAN of this game and love everything that is in this universe and was accepted for the early beta of the New game Outlast: Trials and it was soooooooo GOOD!
So glad I watched this, I have the explanations I have been looking for, so much didn’t make sense when playing it but now it does, thank you for taking the time to explain all the outlasts that are currently out.
No idea why you're not more popular. Most well known I've watched are not as well informed and well put together as yours.
Keep it going! 💯
Quite interesting, as a story at least.
I kinda hope Miles is there, if it comes to mind, while he's fused with Wallrider.
"Her name is Martha. And she is not happy." Having met Martha, I can confirm this statement.
Amazing storytelling, so informative and loved those extra tidbits of explanation of characters without it being intrusive/out of place at all!
Much respect Harry. When I say I don't enjoy videos like these or most the time the people who are explaining the video as well, but have to say dog you definitely deserve lots of partnerships etc. Great job, background music is also nice and makes it feel like a good audio book. Often listen to your videos when I'm by myself on deployment and then play the games afterwards once I'm back home with my family. Found some gems and also learned a lot form your videos man. Keep it up like this please.
I’m so glad someone finally did this. I’ve been waiting on a explanation video that pieces all the outlast storylines together. I’ve always been confused as to how Outlast II connected with the original story. Great job. Subscribed !
You have left me absolutely speechless. Your communication abilities are actually outstanding!
Honestly, thank you for doing this. I loved this game series but never had the attention span to read everything so its always nice to have someone more diligent to put the pieces together now I have even more of a reason to love this series
Thank you so much for making this video. I’ve watched Outlast play through with a number of RUclipsrs but the story always seemed super vague until I saw this. Again, thanks. 🙏
Miles fucking dies and then gets possessed by the Walrider, then the fucking madlad still helps push the plot forward despite being ded
great breakdown and great editing. awesome video
Love your stuff man
Ayo it’s the badass movie compilation guy, love your videos man
22:38 - As if this story wasn’t crazy already? 😂
Dude, if they ever make a Hollywood movie on _Outlast,_ they had better give you a call. I’m not sure there’s anyone that has studied it more. 😂
Great job, GH! You can tell you put a lot of time into this! 🤘
Yeah man, I feel like I believe in the Walrider at this point 😂
Yeah there is a lot of material. I like Outlast lore, because it seems easy and simple, but its actually complex. After Outlast Trials, it would be good if Outlast 3 was based on the events from the comics.
An Outlast movie would break the internet because of its elements and story...Outlast 1 and Whistleblower is bad enough....Gluskin scene *shudder* and I'm a girl...
Nah they need to stop turning video games into movies.
@@sbj97 ...You know what fair...but if their was a show or movie inspired by Outlast or something in that genre, I'd like to see that
I can’t be the only person that just truly enjoys listening to you explain these games. Linking the stories because I got too scared turned off the game and I promise I’ll play again but haven’t. 😂😂😂
This is one of those rare channels where the host not only does their research. But has the cadence and voice to really draw you in. Informative, entertaining and just a grand time overall
I’ve watch this video 30 times and every time I learn something new
